Sorry, this is long overdue. I've been here once before. I stumbled onto this shop looking for a unique gift. Found something perfect and just never really thought about it again. I was told they had jelly cats, and while looking for a special floral one I was recommended to try this place out. I pulled up and to my surprise, I knew I had been here before. So cute, do much to look at. They had the exact jelly I needed for my gift, and a very cute one for me to put into my collection. The ladies were very friendly and helpful. This store used to be on second street in Belmont Shore. I been a fan since they had the small store (23 years ago) where I was window shopping and I wanted this Cherub angel planter, but I left my money at home and since I lived 5 minutes walking distance the girl stayed open for me. They made an impression on me. AMAZING customer service and they carry most beautiful things. Then they relocated a few doors down into a huge store and when they closed that store, so many people in Belmont Shore where heart broken. I'm so glad I stumbled upon them again. I love this sweet shop. I recently hosted a "west coast" wedding reception for my daughter and her wife. Deborah asked me to send her some pics of colors I was wanting and she took it from there. The floral arrangements exceeded my expectations. We wanted a dessert table rather than a traditional wedding cake and Deborah went way out her way to make sure the table was set up beautifully. It's gift-y and filled with beautiful things that you'll want to buy for the people you love. The perfect gift can be found for most everyone in your life at Romance Etc. Still, I buy MYSELF something every time I go. I mean, I should love me too, right? I deserve nice things! I have a recent and self-imposed tradition of visiting Romance Etc during every visit to L.A. and buying myself a pair of dangling earrings. Other than choosing which pair, it's not hard...they stay well-stocked with Clara Beau and Catherine Popesco beauties. My last two visits I bought TWO pairs each time. But I'm really here to talk about wedding flowers. :-) I love Deb and I will be forever grateful to her for making our wedding absolutely GORGEOUS. I don't know much about flowers. I'm not very good at articulating what I do and don't want. But none of that mattered because Deborah is so awesome at what she does, she asked me all the right questions and came up with honestly, the coolest centerpieces and bouquet I've ever seen. Tons of guests asked me if they could take the centerpieces home and they all wanted to know who provided the flowers. Deb is one of the hardest working people I know. She communicated with me over and over again to make sure we were on the same page and all logistics (e.g., transporting flowers from our church to the reception site) were handled properly. This might sound minor but I also really appreciated the reminders from her regarding balances due and other details because it was overwhelming to me, dealing with so many different vendors. Every vendor has a different set of rules, different dates by which balances are due, etc. and so I really liked being reminded from their end, what they needed from me. I came here 2 weeks before getting married to ask about a bouquet and boutonnière. I sent her an inspiration pic and went over what I wanted. I was absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out. I was super excited to find this store. Ever since my favorite store closed Los Coyotes Gift Store. I've been looking for a new store with out of the ordinary gifts. Well I did love the items in this store (a little pricy though) still very good quality. The complaint I have is the sales ladies who work there not friendly at all. Worst customer service, they don't give refunds even if you return within 24 hours. California state law indicates all returns are allowed within 24 hours of purchases. As I'm talkng to her, she claims to have a head ache and walks away. She then starts to say an argument started and can't handle or smart enough to know how to handle complaints. Except claim to have a head ache and run and hide in the back room. She's extremely rude. She then tries to literally push me out the store when I told her if she touches me that would be assault. That's when she backed of. Over priced things, not of quality, and ignorant staff who knows nothing except how to push their weight around, literally. I LOOOOOOVE Romance, etc! On my nightly walks down 2nd Street with my new husband Romance, etc. is a favorite spot to visit because they always change around the store - there is always something new to see, especially during the holidays! They really mean the ETC! I love that they have expanded the floral portion of their store to include plants, planters and really showcase this part of their store because they truly do a very thoughtful and beautiful job. At our recent August wedding in San Dimas Deborah did an amazing job on the bridal bouquets - they lasted all afternoon! Per our request, she added succulent plants with the fresh flowers and I got teary-eyed when I saw them. (I will try to post pictures!) I never got back to her about the ribbon (my bad) but per our previous conversations, pictures, and Deborah's amazing sense of what the customer is looking for, the ribbon she added was the perfect touch. :) Kimi... despite being one of the prettiest guests, set-up and later transferred the altar garland from the gazebo/altar to the wedding party table. It was supposed to be really hot and it was definitely made to last. My Aunt took it home because it was so beautiful.
