Always amazing! Special deals, Wednesday night, burnt ends, Friday night smoked prime rib dinner. Today we enjoyed their appetizer of a bacon wrapped meatball covered in barbecue sauce, sounds weird, but it was absolutely delicious! Got the inside scoop that the menu is about to undergo some changes so keep your eyes and ears open! Parking in the area can be tight. There is metered parking on the street and dedicate parking next to the building, but it fills up fast during peak hours. Full bar, Local beers on tap. Great service as we are always pleasantly greeted and pampered. Great music for classic rock, lovers and super cool wood community table down the center of the restaurant. Open daily for most of the day, including mid afternoon, closed Mondays. This is a must stop when you're craving some great barbecue!

Best dang bbq I've had ever! The chicken and catfish was perfect! Clean inside and staff was attentive.

Celebrated my birthday with a late lunch at Boxer Barbeque. This place was recommended to us by several friends and it did not disappoint! It was my good fortune to visit on Wednesday which is the only day that Burnt Ends are offered. The meat was tender and flavorful--loved it. My wife had the Moo'ing Pig sandwich and enjoyed it. Our sides were Cornbread, Baked Beans, Onion Rings, and Elote Corn. Each was good, although the Elote was a bit spicy for my wife. Perhaps best of all was the dessert: Fried Caramel Apple Bread Pudding with ice cream on the side. So amazing! Service was good and the decor was rustic and interesting. All in all, a top notch place to celebrate!

Boxers Barbecue completely blew us away! My partner ordered the Mooing Pig sandwich--an epic combo of beef brisket and pulled pork--and topped it off with their spicy sauce. Each table comes stocked with sweet, smoky, and spicy options, and the spicy one was so interesting. Tons of flavor without overwhelming heat--perfectly balanced and surprisingly manageable. Might not be hot enough for some, but it was my favorite by far. I did the pick-two plate with brisket and catfish, and wow. The catfish stole the show! A massive, perfectly cooked piece with the most incredible tartar sauce--chunky with real herbs, not what you'd expect at a BBQ joint but seriously next-level. And the cornbread--oh my gosh. It's dense like cake, not too sweet, and could easily pass for dessert. Total showstopper. Service was friendly and quick, and the whole place has that laid-back, welcoming feel. We'll definitely be back to this Council Bluffs classic. Don't miss it!

The food was amazing! Hot, fresh, delivered to the table promptly, and the presentation was great too! The servers were polite, kind, helpful, and gave great suggestions for the menu. The servers were attentive and yet not so much that I couldn't enjoy my meal. The vibe is friendly and welcoming to all! Such a comfortable place to have an awesome meal after a long week, or even after a long day at work! I started with the calamari with bang bang sauce!! Delish! Then, I had the smoked prime rib, which came out perfectly. Melted like hot butter with each and every bite. The creamy horseradish sauce was great and I am not a huge horseradish fan at all! I had the elote corn on the cob and the potato salad. Both were delicious sides. The fried caramel apple pie bread pudding with ice cream was a fantastic way to finish the meal!! Would absolutely recommend!!

Seasonal menu item - Parm Fries with the Horsey sauce on side cuz my ole lady dsnt like horseradish as much

I'm finally getting back here after a few years, and it does not disappoint! We rolled in around noon, and just a few other tables were seated, and some take out orders were ready to go, but we were seated very quickly. I love the selection of beers they have. Some odd stuff and then your usual ones. The interior is still the same, but it's a very good look that matches the type of building and very clean place. The waitress we had, i am pretty sure we had the first time. Awesome person to chat with and very attentive but not hovering, haha! I can't wait to come back again.

passing through council bluffs picked up a menu at the Fairfield Inn and decided that would be perfect. we split an order of Pulled Pork Barbecue Nachos and it was amazing. most tender pork I ever had. service was friendly and engaging. We plan on returning on our way back in a couple weeks for the St Louis Ribs.

This is the second time I've been here. I regret not writing a review the first, but am glad I was able to try their Burnt Ends on a Wednesday to talk about because they were the best I've ever had! 1/2 pound of Thick cut chunks of meat, dry rubbed with 3 types of sauce to choose from on the table: Sweet, Smokey, and Spicy. The sweet was my personal favorite. In addition to the burnt end, you get to choose from two side. I went with their corn bread and house made chips. The corn bread has a little glaze on top that makes it extra moist. My only wish is that I had gotten more slices lol. Their house made chips are those traditional kettle chips some other BBQ restaurants have as well. But what sets these apart is their unique dipping sauce. I couldn't put my finger on the exact flavor, but it was delicious!

Everything except the Mac & Cheese cuz it's in the trash .

Upon walking in, we saw the place looked clean and comfortable. We went up to the counter to order, but weren't sure what to get. The person in front of us finished his order and we were instantly tickled to see how they send the order to the kitchen. We asked the person behind the counter what was good, as we were visiting from California and had never been there before. He was great at explaining the menu and giving suggestions. Very friendly. We settled on sharing a swamp donkey burger, fries and a side of Cole slaw. We watched our order whiz away to the kitchen and went to get our drinks. We found a good table, sat down and talked for a few minutes. Before long our order had arrived. The person that brought it over asked if we needed anything else. , and we asked for an extra plate and a fork and knife. He quickly brought it all over, and we felt silly because we didn't see utensils were right next to the drink machine, and we should have gotten them ourselves. I apologized for missing it, but he was so polite and friendly and seemed like it was no big deal. We cut the burger in half, I started on the cold slaw (delicious), and then got to it. The burger was amazing. It was big, perfectly done, and completely hit the spot. The fries were also great. We didn't have long before we gad to get back to the hotel to get ready for the flight, and having already paid at the beginning, it was quick and easy heading out. We ordered the Carolina Pork (topped this coleslaw) sandwich and the brisket sandwich. I think it's important to note that we are in KC style territory, so a North Carolina native might not give the pork five stars but I think a Midwesterner would appreciate it. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The sides were mighty! The potato salad was ranked a "must order" and described as "church picnic" quality, due to the high ratio of eggs and mustard. We tried the fried cabbage with bacon; if you enjoy greens I felt like this was a cabbage variant and quite tasty. We have vowed to return to try the sandwich that comes topped with hot links!! From the nicely sized loaded taters to the spicy hot links, to the tender ribs, to the succulent pulled pork, it's all so good. They even have great curly fries, and I'm not usually a big fan of curly fries because they are so often dry. One of my favorites from here is the open-face sandwich. It's Texas toast, mashed potatoes, brisket, and gravy. I add their pickled jalapenos on top of it, and it is heaven on a plate! Another thing about them that I love is that their ribs aren't swimming in sauce. They use a wonderful rub on them, and they have some really good sauces that you can add yourself if you want, so you can control how messy your ribs are. I find that I never really need the sauce because the ribs are flavorful, moist, and tender on their own. It's smoky goodness through and through. If you do prefer sauces, rest assured, they have some tasty options for you. The portion sizes are not skimpy, and we always feel like we get our money's worth. They have a nice, big menu board that is easy to read, and the prices for everything are clear. They also offer some great free condiments that elevate the menu offerings. Over by the soda machines, they have a small salad bar-style setup that includes sliced raw onions, pepperocinis, pickled jalapenos, dill pickle slices, and the like. It really makes the meal!

I'm sure you can find decent BBQ still in Nebraska, but this isn't it. First of all, the price of BBQ is outrageous. I think that's a product of this economy, but we spent over $30 on a 3 meat combo and an extra side. One person could probably have this for their meal, which is a decent amount of food, but this is very pricey for what you get. SMALL sides, and the sample you get 3 spare ribs, 5-6 brisket slices, and maybe 1/2 a link of sausage. Our sides were the Pit chips, Mac n cheese, and a small sliver of corn bread. Nothing else- no drinks, we're just interested in the food. Normally from a "true" Texas BBQ joint, you'll get an entire loaf of bread with your meats - we didn't get any bread at all. If you get a sandwich like their brisket sandwich, you'll get the missing element, but if you have a combo with just the meats, it might go a long way to making the experience better. How was the food? We got our food to go. Give it a little time to rest before opening it up. The smells were decent, so I knew that it was smoked meats (the bare minimum requirement for actual BBQ). Let's start with the sausage. Nothing special - probably bought from the grocery store next door and thrown in the smoker. No cheese in the sausage. It was OK, but wasn't great. It reminded me of an Oscar Meyer kilbasa with a little more kick (spices). Real Texas BBQ like a Rudy's sausage blows this away - not even in the same league. I appreciate the attempt, but if they are serving this stuff, they need to go back to the drawing board. It absolutely does not taste or look like they make their own sausage, but I would love to hear if they do. It would be shocking if they say that they make their own sausage. Brisket was probably the star of the combo. The first few pieces were tender and had a nice arc when you put your finger in the middle. Paired with their BBQ sauce (the sweet is better than their spicy sauce), if it was a one meat combo and they gave me more brisket, then I would have been more satisfied. If you're dragged there, go for the brisket. But I think a good bbq joint needs good ribs. The cooking was pretty spot on - not fall off the bone, but relatively clean bones. The spare ribs might have been a better choice. The bark on the ribs were decent, but just my preference, I like to have saucey ribs. These were maybe sauced and then thrown on the grill, but maybe not. The bark is pretty salty. Maybe good for drunk food, but they could do better on the ribs. Adding their sweet sauce at the end on the grill would make these ribs MUCH better, because all the elements are there, it is just the execution that lacked. My biggest problem was really the portions. The sides were REALLY small. The pit chips were just kettle chips (nice and crispy) with a HEAVY dose of spices. Not bad, but not amazing, and that tells you what you need to know about the sides. Mac and cheese was decent, but can you give me more than 1/2 a spoon full? For $3.00, I would expect about twice or three times the size of the container we got. The small portions sizes make me feel ripped off - when you pull it out of the bag and immediately say "really"? Everyone agrees that it should be like a $1 side if you were to say that you got your money's worth. If you charged $3 for a side, give a decent portion, would ya?!! Finally the corn bread. I love a "famous" corn bread from a competing bbq restaurant, and compared to them, this is rather disappointing. It certainly is sweet, and the taste is ok, but honestly, the way it tasted, it almost exactly tasted like a yellow cake mix from a grocery store. At the "famous" place, you have some grittiness from the corn - this didn't have much of that. It was fluffy and crumbly, so it had potential, but the experience wasn't there. The corn meal grittiness, kicking it up to double the amount, maybe triple, it would have been much better. As it stood, it was a small slice of yellow cake. So overall, you and your drunk buddies going here for drinks and getting some drunk food, I'm sure that's how this place survives. But the food - the reason why we went - it's not something you walk away and say that was an incredible meal! Small portion sizes, expensive food, and just OK flavor, it definitely wasn't worth it. I would say it is most definitely salvageable with some tweaks, but as it stands, I would put this in the mid- to bottom-tier of BBQ I've eaten in Omaha. Probably won't be back unless I hear that things have changed.
