Since it was our first time..FAITH greeted us and very enthusiastically explained the items on the menu and made excellent recommendations (that we chose) and they exceeded our expectations...Faith went that extra mile for a customer..thank you! The brisket was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection..we had the jalapeño cheese sausage..so cheesy and delicious...smokehouse beans had just the right amount of smokiness. My favorite was the brisket chili...nothing like I ever had before and their cornbread was by far the best I've had ..it was moist and delicious ..the fries were so crispy but soft and yummy on the inside...the little extras such as the picked purple onions and pickles were such a great addition as well. Great place ..great parking and the place was packed..so get there early..lots of seating and staff constantly clearing tables for the next guests..

Do I recommend Porky Butts BBQ? Yes! Yes I do! This past week took us from the Des Moines IA metro to Lincoln NE...and then back and forth between Lincoln and Omaha several times. Any time you travel food always comes into the conversation. J's Smokehouse in Omaha and Canyon Joe's Barbecue along with Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q in Lincoln were at the top of my BBQ list, but my traveling companions kept shooting holes in them for one reason or another. Out of frustration I Googled "best barbeque in Omaha NE" and Porky Butts BBQ came up at the top of my search results. We hit the Porky Butts BBQ's Yelp and Facebook pages and couldn't find anything that didn't sound good. They checked all the boxes except one... One of our party doesn't really like cornbread and we didn't see a Texas toast option, but that's a box that can be left unchecked... We ended up getting two family platters. A family platter is listed on the menu as: Family Platter (Feeds 2-3) $32 Half Rack, 1/3 lb of 2 Meats, 2 Large Sides & 3 Piece Cornbread On one we got ribs, catfish, and turkey breast with fried okra and french fries. Add an addtional side of mac n cheese. On the other ribs, smoked sausage, and brisket with green beans and potato salad. Let's start with the environment. Porky Butts BBQ is in a small strip with lots of parking. It's order and pay at the counter. Their online menu and menu board are easy to navigate even with an many choices as they offer. You order and pay at the front counter. Foutain drinks are self serve. Napkins are at the table. Utensils and to go boxes (for your leftovers) are up by the fountain drinks. They bring you the food and bus your table for you when you are done. Seating is a combination of low top tables and chairs, high top tables and chairs, and booths. It's seat yourself after placing your order. The food... Magical! Everything I had was hot and fresh and was cooked to perfection. I didn't try the potato salad... It looked a little bougie to me. I love an old school German potato salad. Peeled potatoes, heavy on the mustard, mayo, a little onion, and that's about it. Once I saw the skins and how white it was... Nah. I'm good. That's just me though. Service was great! From the gentleman who took our order, the server who dropped off the food, the manager who checked on us part of the way through our visit, to table service who cleaned up empty trays when needed... Couldn't have asked for a better visit! Kudos to the staff at Porky Butts BBQ!

Deeeelicious!! We had the family platter that feeds 5 and the BBQ Boudin Balls. The BBQ Boudin Balls were every bit the yumminess of the crab balls, but with juicy bbq! The entire bbq platter was delicious. The turkey was juicy, the ribs and brisket were delicious and the burnt ends and pulled pork were moist. We also enjoyed all the sides- corn bread, potato salad (not sweet), Mac and cheese and loaded grits! The loaded grits were my favorite. Besides the bbq of course. Their French fries are crispy and flavorful. Service was like all the bbq places. One line that leads up to the counter and you order. This is a great place with a growing legacy of grilling to championship levels. I have had a lot of bbq, was this my favorite I've ever had, no, but it is up there. Love a lot about this restaurant and can't take anything away but a full stomach. We are all happy!

Amazing place for bbq. When you enter you order at the front then grab a table. There's an area where you can get soda or tea, wet wipes, utensils, and take out boxes. At each table, there's 3 bbq sauces. Fun to try and mix for the flavor you like. My favorite were the ribs and burnt ends. The ribs are fall off the bone tender. The burnt ends were delicious. My favorite by far was the cornbread which was more like a corn cake. It was moist and phenomenal with honey and butter. The apple slaw and the pickles help cut the richness of the meats so you can keep on eating.

This was our first time visiting Porky Butts BBQ. Even though they were extremely busy, they took the time and patiently explained their menu options and made recommendations. We ordered the two meat plate (brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, smoked beans, mac n cheese, & cornbread) and a "small" side order of fries which ended up being enough food for two people. I am typically not a fan of cornbread, but at my wife's request, I tried it and have to admit it was moist and delicious. All of the food was outstanding (even the cornbread)! It's not fancy, but very affordable and well worth the drive. This was definitely worth the trip to northwest Omaha.

Porky Butts is an Omaha gem. Can't say enough about this place. Whenever I come to visit from California, this is on the top of my list of places to visit. Due to scheduling and because we have been here before when we were turned away during operating hours because they were sold out of meat. Can you believe that? Dine in and take out orders wiped them out for the rest of the evening. So this time, I arrived before they opened. Oh snap!!! My go to is Texas Poutine. Handmade chips topped with queso, beef brisket, pulled pork, crumbled bacon, green onions and drizzled with BBQ sauce. You can replace the chips with fries for $1+. Ok, Porky Butts, until next time. See ya. Ok, bye.

The food was amazing! My personal favorite was the pulled pork. My friends absolutely loved the brisket although I didn't have it myself. The corn and the beans were also a favorite. The chicken was good but not anything crazy. Would return!!

Came with family on Father's Day. It was PACKED with line out the door. We were tempted to leave but stuck it out. Getting to order at the counter didn't take long, and we got seated easily. Food came out fairly quickly. It was all so flavorful. We got the family meal with brisket, pulled pork, and burnt ends. The cornbread was probably a favorite of the table. Nice to have a bit of Texas flavor in Omaha

First time visiting the Porky Butt restaurant. I appreciate that the owners support the community through various charitable events. The fries were excellent. Loved my jalapeño sausage, prices are going up on beef so there is an $1.50 up charge but only two slices of brisket (maybe my only disappointment). Everything was really good and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good BBQ restaurant. Overall excellent for the price. You won't go hungry. The chili was on point. You also have 3 choices of bbq sauce. I'll be back. Thank you

Our post-Valentine's adventure finally brought us to Porky Butts BBQ--a spot we'd been meaning to try forever. The stars aligned, and we pulled into a packed parking lot. Fortunately, most people were waiting on to-go orders, so we didn't have to fight for a table. Since we're no amateurs (and I never walk into a restaurant without scoping out the menu first), I knew exactly what I wanted. The staff was hustling, with a sea of paper tickets hanging up, but we were greeted with a smile and asked what they could make fresh for us--major points for that! We ordered BBQ Boudin Balls, a Rib Plate with Brisket Chili and Potato Salad, and a Two-Meat Plate with Mac & Cheese and Apple Slaw. Oh, and two sodas--Coke Zero on tap (bless!). Total bill: $56--pretty reasonable considering the time and effort that goes into smoked meat. The sauce lineup--Mild, Sassy, and Fiery--was put to the test immediately. I wish they provided chips to sample them instead of me resorting to using my finger, but hey, whatever works. Mild and Sassy were nearly identical, and while Fiery had some heat, spice lovers might find it a little tame. Our BBQ Boudin Balls arrived quickly but without plates--just a tiny tray. BBQ is messy, and these little guys weren't the most structurally sound. That said, they had a smoky, burnt flavor that I actually enjoyed. Still, I'd probably go for a different appetizer next time. Now, onto the main event. Our plates arrived with all the fixings--pickles, pickled onions, and a giant piece of cornbread (complete with butter and honey). MVP of my plate? The catfish. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely perfect with the little tartar sauce/Tabasco concoction I whipped up. The pork was solid, but the catfish stole the show, so I didn't give it much attention. As for the sides: Mac & cheese - Cheesy but a little bland, even after a hit of salt and pepper. Apple slaw - Soggy and flavorless; wouldn't get it again. Cornbread - Sweet, cake-like, but served cold. Warming it up would have taken it to the next level. Brisket chili - I stole a bite from my husband's plate, and wow--definitely ordering that next time! All in all, it was a fantastic way to celebrate with my Valentine. Porky Butts BBQ lived up to the hype--some hits, some misses, but I'd happily go back to explore more of the menu!

We were able to try their catered pulled pork, burnt ends and baked beans at a house party. Everything had so much flavor & there was a lot of meat on the burnt ends with not too much fat. I loved it all-easy to have as a favorite BBQ anytime! YUM!

Rib plate... and yes we ordered more items and everything was delicious.

Visited Pork Butts BBQ after googling "best bbq in Omaha". It was delicious! Enjoyed a rib plate w/green beans and Mac n cheese. Ribs were tender and flavorful. Green beans cooked perfectly with some bite and not mushy. Cornbread was like cake. Mac n cheese was very saucy and pretty good. We also ordered the Brisket sandwich, family platter w/Brisket and sausage- all fantastic! As a Californian, I will probably not be visiting Omaha again, but for anyone else headed to this city, I highly recommend you make time for this place. Go early and grub! Also, pro tip- mix the Mild and Fiery bbq sauces together. Chef's kiss! They had me at their name... Porky Butts.

After a fun day at the zoo, we decided to finally try Smoking Jay's. On this day, we took advantage of a special that was enough to feed two. Three pork ribs, brisket, two sides, toast, and cornbread. First, like every barbecue place, I like to try the sauce first. Good BBQ doesn't need sauce but a good BBQ restaurant should have it. Strange thinking, I know. They have two sauces here. Spicy and regular. Both seemed overwhelmingly full of, I think, molasses. I didn't care for either but favored the spicy (which is hardly spicy). Strangely, the sauce tasted better when paired with the meat. Imagine that! You get two choices for brisket, fatty or lean. We chose lean and it was not great but better than okay. Well seasoned too. Notice the nice smoke ring in my picture! The ribs? They were 100% perfectly, delicious, and NOT fall off the bone (which should never be for legit BBQ - a good rib has a tug). Bravo for great ribs!! The side dish of BBQ beans was pretty good, better than most, but there was something in there that was not to my liking (best guess, bay leaf... yuck). The coleslaw was alright. There was also a nice small side of spicy pickles and onions too. Overall, we will come back when convenient and get those ribs again! Okra is another side dish that we will try next time. Super friendly people here!

The brisket was tender and flavorful. The sides were mighty! The potato salad was ranked a "must order" and described as "church picnic" quality, due to the high ratio of eggs and mustard.
