2 Meat Combo, pulled pork and sausage. Corn pie, baked beans, Creamy Coleslaw
Rose P.

Great bbq! I loved every meat I tried. The prices were fair and the servings were huge! I love that my plate came with 3 sides. I'm a huge sucker for sides and they had so many great ones to choose from. The beans were creamy, the Cole slaw was crunchy, and the corn pie is unique! I love the creativity and taste of it. The bbq was top notch. There were 3 different types of bbq sauce brought to the table- all very unique and I'd say not your typical sauce. There's regular, spicy (mango), and whiskey. They're sweet and a little vinegary. The staff was very nice and attentive. The vibe is very relaxed and there are tons of fun hunting mounts on the walls.

Service was very attentive. Food was great and at a great value. Walls are decorated to a hunters paradise.

Always wanted to try this place . Went in on a Thursday evening and sat at the bar. Great service. I had the burnt end which was pork, they were kinda tough but maybe that's how they are supposed to be. My husband had the ribs and they were delicious. We liked the original Bbq sauce, didn't care much for the whiskey sauce . Overall it was good. The beans, onion petals and coleslaw were delicious!

Smoked Turkey Sandwich

Came here on a whim after a long afternoon of tubing, and it was not too bad. All the meat was really well cooked and soft and tender. I got the smoked turkey sandwich with the bun and no tomato. The turkey was really soft and just simply seasoned. Neither salty nor bland even by itself. It went perfectly with that dressing that they had on there. I have no idea what it was, but the combination of it all in the sandwich was really good. My fiance got the big meat special with the smoked pulled chicken. It was a very loaded burger and the grilled onions went well there. He added the spicy barbecue sauce - that sauce actually was a good blend of sweet and spicy and the hint of mango actually came through! My brother actually got two burgers, and finished and liked them both. He got fries for the side. Fiance and I both got side salads and also a big order of a main salad. Italian dressing was good for the salad but overall the salad itself was very plain. Iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and croutons - ready subpar for the cost. I was hoping they would at least have romaine. They also didn't have any vegetable items on the menu at all, so there was no option to add any vegetable to the salad. Dropped a star for that. People also not at all happy with the service. Server kept rushing us to make a decision and order, and didn't even let us finish our entire order. Kept prompting and asking if we were done, and warning is that this would be too much food. (4 burgers with sides and 2 big salads for 3 people) We actually finished all the food!

Haven't eaten here since I was a kid and randomly decided to get takeout to fulfill my bbq craving. The chopped pork sandwich and bbq sauces were great along with the corn pie still being my favorite after so many years! The ribs were decent, but a little overcooked for our taste. We tried the macaroni and cheese and also the macaroni salad and both were a little iffy. Overall it wasn't bad for a quick takeout meal but definitely overpriced for what we got. Food was ready fast though!

Two Meat Combo: Sausage & Brisket

Staff were very friendly - the two girls worked great as a team to serve us. We had the burnt ends, sausage, and brisket. All of the meat was juicy, and the adjoining BBQ sauces were very tasty. The sides were hearty and sized just right per person. The restaurant had a Western style ambiance with good country music in the background!

Food was tasty and service was great. Very nice people and a cozy restaurant. Will recommend to friends and family. Meat a little dry but would go back.

Hog sandwich with fries

We had tried this place long ago (5+ years) and thought it was OK and yesterday decided on takeout. The prices were fairly reasonable considering how much food costs with inflation nowadays. We decided on the corn fritters for an appetizer, two hog sandwiches, a brisket sandwich, and chopped pork sandwich. The overall consensus was everything was fine. Not the best BBQ and not the worst. For instance, the corn fritters were good but could be easily been something you buy frozen at the store and heat up yourself. Same goes for all the sides. I didn't try the coleslaw but my husband said it was a bit drier than he liked. The actual BBQ was fine. As other have stated it lacks some flavor and smoke so you have to rely on the barbecue sauce to make it better. (Which by the way the whiskey sauce is tasty and the right consistency). My husband also said the brisket lacked the bark which is a signature feature of smoked brisket. Again it tasted good but we have had much better in Omaha. Go to Smoking Barrel for brisket and Hyvee at 180th and Pacific for pulled pork (Trust me on this one). Glad we gave them another try but probably not a spot we would hit up regularly.

Burnt ends...don't order!
Natalie E.

Really disappointed with the bbq at Boyd and Charlie's. This was my first visit so I went right for the burnt ends...my standard measuring stick for bbq joints. Unfortunately, they were not burnt ends. Burnt ends should be very tender, slightly fatty pieces of brisket cut from the point. I'm not sure where these pieces came from, but they did not fit any of these criteria. They were tough, chewy, and just poor quality. Probably the worst burnt ends I've ever had. The sides were better. Their corn casserole, which the server recommended, was tasty. Well seasoned and not too greasy. The side salad was fine, nothing special. The menu said it would have black eyed peas in it, but they didn't come on the salad. I wasn't mad at this because I don't care for black eyed peas, but the menu was incorrect. Service was good, and the place was comfortable. I was just very disappointed in the grub.

Brisket sandwich. Tender but where's the smoke?

The spousal unit, offspring and I rolled in about 1:45 on a late August Sunday afternoon. One group of about 8-9 people was leaving as we walked in and, aside from one other guy, we had the place to ourselves. Service was great; no complaints. I had the (chopped) brisket sandwich. Boy had the Charlie's burger, or something like that. Spouse had the pulled pork sandwich. We shared an order of smoked/grilled sweet chili wings. And 3 soft drinks (hoped for sweet tea, but no joy). -The wings were great! -The brisket sandwich was very tender but the outer chunks did not have much bark on them, and the brisket did not have a ton of smoky flavor. It was ok with the whiskey and spicy sauce (which were, by the way, OK but nothing special). -The spouse said the pulled pork did not have a lot of flavor. -The boy said the burger was very good and it looked good. It was a nice big thick hamburger patty in the middle of it. Total with tax for this lunch was $45. I wish they'd offer fresh brewed cane sugar sweet tea...it's a BBQ thing. The [smoked] meat really needs a bit more honest smoke flavor. And bark. And, again, real sweet tea, please. But I'll go back again.

I would say it has the atmosphere of a nicer fast food space (like chipotle, pepperjacks, etc.). There was a little bit of a wait when we went, as they were on the busier side. We placed our order and were given a buzzer for when our food was ready. We didn't have to wait long, but did decide to take our food to go. The sandwich was AMAZING! It was perfectly crispy and the sauce was delicious. I haven't had a decent gluten free chicken sandwich in so long, so this was such a treat. The bun was SOFT ladies and gentleman, and it wasn't falling apart like other gluten free buns. My boyfriend doesn't have celiac and even he said it was one of the best chicken he's ever had, and you wouldn't be able to tell it's gluten free. The pickles had such a delicious dilly taste to it, and had more pickle to breading (which I loved). Only downside is the breading for the pickles started to fuse together by the time we got home, so may be better fresh once you get them. Overall we highly recommend this place whether you are gluten free or not. You're in for a tasty experience at every visit!

Next-level crisp with just the right hit of salt--honestly addictive. And the burger? Flipping perfect. Juicy, flavorful, and stacked like they actually care about balance and bite. I came in with modest expectations and left wondering why I hadn't tried this place sooner. Service was smooth, ambiance had a cool edge, and the food? Way beyond what I expected. Highly recommend if you want comfort food done with serious skilll

I had the burger with bacon and bleu cheese, and the waitress was nice enough to note my request for lighter amounts of bleu cheese - it goes exceptionally well with bacon but has a strong enough flavor to not need an excessive amount. It seemed like there was none at all on there, so perhaps that was my mistake for asking. I feel like it is normally piled on there but I did still want *some.* The Nashville sandwich was nothing special, but the coleslaw was good. 6/10. The new honey chicken sandwich was good, 8.5/10. The truffle cheesesteak had noticeable truffle, even a little much, which you don't always get, and maybe not enough cheese, but was overall good. 7/10. The fries and sweet potato fries were both very good, well seasoned fries. I would come back - I would bring my parents here. I hope to sit outside at some point to see how nice that can be. There was a good amount of people here for a Wednesday, I know on the weekends it can be fairly packed, so a weekday was a good time to go.
