My husband and I have been utilizing the family season pass (about four times now total) and it's been wonderful, up until todays' visit. We arrived -as we always arrive- at 11 am, opening time. Servers and staff have typically been attentive and helpful. Today, not so much. We typically wait about 15-20 min for someone to ask us if we'd like anything to drink. Unless a server is there yet, it's usually a manager or supervisor who helps us. Not today. When I asked her about the computer not working to put in an order, she just said "The bartender is getting the big party next to you taken care of, and the server will be here at noon". Apparently, she was too busy to be bothered, whilst sitting at the bar with her friend both chatting and eating. The poor solo bartender was slammed, helping what looked like a party of 18+ in matching shirts and a film crew on the lanes next to us. When I walked over to order some sodas from him (cuz clearly no one was making there way to us), he told us that the server would be in at noon to help us and serve us and potentially put in a food order for our party if that's what we desired. The monitor and screen usually used to order items was non operational today (as mentioned) and the server who finally showed up was too busy talking to the bartender and wiping down the same counter space he had already wiped down a previous time. Rather than Carter to her lanes and expedite service, she went to the kitchen with an ice bucket and stood at the bar with the bartender for a duration of time. She *finally* made her way to the lanes to take peoples' orders or assist, but went to the farthest left lane - customers who had just arrived. We had been waiting for over an hour and a half and received no service - we were on the tenth frame of our final game and, though we were hungry, we opted to go elsewhere for better attention and customer service. I've worked in the service industry, so I am forgiving if things are busy or understaffed, but the manager (or whoever the brunette girl wearing the brown crop top and jeans is) should've helped the bartender in the down time between opening and the server arriving for her shift. My two step kids are in town from out of state; my husband and I have brought them here three times already, and were trying to end their time here for summer on a great and fun note at Bowlero like the previous times and sadly, it lacked the enthusiasm we'd hoped for. read more

Great place and plenty of things to do. They have a long waitlist specially on the weekend so if you are planning for a date, go early, you'll have to wait. I like this bowling place. I would definitely recommend and return Pros: Its a teenage filled area so they have security and everyone is searched prior to entering. I think that is great. The security checks your ID and give you wristband if over 21 for drinks. They have a bar and plenty of things to do like an arcade plus the bowling. My Son & Daughter In Law had my Granddaughter's 11th Birthday Party at Bowlero last weekend. This is a new venue, serving Ventura County. The building is very large, and the Bowling areas are very nice, and where the birthday parties are held. When we arrived to the 'Party Area', my granddaughter was very excited about the personalized message blocks ( See photo). The bowling lanes are very nice, with a lot of brightly colored lights. The music was a bit loud, but the kids seemed to love it. We had four bowling lanes reserved for the birthday party. We had a dedicated staff member to assist us with food and drink orders. His name was Jackson and he did a good job! Everything went smoothly until the bowling games ended and it was time to do the cake and presents. By this time, Jackson was gone, and my son asked another server for a lighter to light the candles on the birthday cake. Things started to get very rushed at that point. We barely had time to sign HAPPY BIRTHDAY, before being told we needed to leave that area to allow another group to have their birthday party. We had to gather our belongings, etc , which took a few minutes as our group was quite large with over 20 people. The manager then came and told us ' You Need to leave NOW'. My son told him that we paid a lot of money and to give us a few minutes. He then replied, ' Well so did the group coming in- in a sarcastic manner. As we walked near the arcade games, we then realized that there is very limited seating. All the children had pre-paid cards for the Arcade Games as part of the Birthday Package, so they were all excited. Because there was no seating in that area, so thr adults were just standing around. Finally, as we were leavingz we noticed that there were ARMED guards as well as metal detection for weapons for all patrons.my final thoughts: 1) Not the best place for children during busy times, and especially at night: guards carry weapons and use metal detector at door 2) The bowling was fun- arcade time not so much 3) The dedicated birthday attendant is great, but they should stay with group for entire party 4) Be aware that birthday parties are booked back to back read more

My husband and I wanted to do something special for his girls soccer team who had an awesome season, so we booked their end of season party at Bowlero. I walked in and said, "Oh heck no, another soccer team is here and that team mom totally outdid me with the set up!" Lo and behold, those were OUR lanes! Bowlero decorated beautifully for us, it totally made our experience so cool. The manager Erica and our host Alex were fantastic! Erica kept checking in on us and Alex was on top of everything. He was super friendly! Our girls had a great time and so did the parents. The venue was not very crowded because they do limit capacity. The only thing that could be better is if they would provide additional seating for non-bowlers (totally willing to pay to reserve that), but I still give it 5 stars because we still made it work without any issues. We got the $30 per bowler package for two hours which included food, drinks, and arcade cards, and added dessert and an extra hour of bowling. In all, I paid $1,100 (with taxes & event fees) plus tip - and while it might sound like a lot, I definitely think this experience was worth it (18 bowlers/3 lanes, + alcohol for parents). read more

Honestly the people complaining that it's crowded or whatever don't understand that it's a new place that opened in a overpopulated city, seriously what did you expect ? The whole place to yourself ? When I went it was very crowded & the wait to bowl was 3ish hrs, the arcades are pretty fun & the prizes are nice. The staff was very friendly & outgoing. I stayed there till closing time & it deff gets wayyy less crowded around 11pm. I really liked it & I'll definitely go again. If you give sh!t to the staff because wait times are too long you're an a-hole . It's literally not their fault that the whole city of Oxnard is there. I had the most incredible experience here! They had a digital sign wishing me a happy birthday, the staff was extremely attentive and the chicken tenders tasted so fresh and yummy! Been about a month since they've opened and it's definitely getting popular. A consistent flow of people during the normal time of business and this time around, there was a wait time for bowling due to the birthday party happening. We were on lane 14 this time around and a less than stellar experience this time due to the bowling lane. Whether the floor was uneven or the oil, I don't know for sure. No matter how straight we tried to throw it, the ball wouldn't go straight. It would randomly turn or curve when none of us know how to add spin to the bowling ball. This was quite frustrating to play with as you would gutter when you don't even mean to throw it like that. It is to be noted that lanes 1-14 are more spacious and you have more wiggly room compared to the other side. Several of the arcade games also decreases in ticket prizes. Notable was the football game where the prizes for scoring a T is 300 tickets, but it's actually 200 only. Cleanliness is starting to show where the table at the bowling lanes were very sticky on the sides of the table, but the top side is decent at most. The arcade games don't feel very sticky, but we also didn't see anyone hovering around cleaning them often. All in all, maybe the location is starting to settle and it's showing signs of wear and tear already. We would still go, but perhaps not as often as their prices are pretty steep compared to other places. Furthermore, getting cheated by false advertisement of ticket prizes stings a bit. read more

We have been here several times and this is a really lively fun place to spend some time. There's a ton of fun lights and a really cool ambiance. The music is danceable but family friendly lyrics - thank you ! - and family friendly TVs for the most part. There's a bar and a restaurant and if you're in a lane there's easy to get help table service also. The arcade area is a nice perk also and I'm happy to see they've given their bathrooms more attention lately. I've had a few hiccups here but they seem to have made some shifts in management and Erica really made me feel like a valued customer. We will continue to visit this location because if it's cool ambiance and up to date technology (so easy to turn bumpers on and off depending on the bowler and to make changes during the game). I went with my family on my husband's birthday March 18. We played two games four of us played. It was really fun but the next day I looked at that my bank account and I saw two charges one for $98.68 and another for $109.30. That is so crazy $200 for two games not going back again that's outrageous. I called to speak with the manager and asked him why was I charged twice? He told me that he only saw one charge and the other one should clear out in three days. It has been a week and I haven't seen my money back in my account. went to a corporate group event here and their business goal at this place seems to be similar to the Lucky Strike upscale bowling locations but they miss the 10 pin in their attempt. Here are the reasons why: - Lanes are still very close together and you might be sitting back to back with a neighboring group function and standing right next to each other. LUcky Strike allows you to have more private events with a whole self contained area for groups. There we had our own alley, pool table and some games - Food was hit and miss. Kept running out of taco meat but a lot of shells and fixings still left. Celery Sticks and baby carrots looked old and unwashed. Sliders, coconut shrimp and chicken marsala were the hits. - Servers cannot keep up and seemed understaffed. We kept running out of dishware and the cups that were coming out were still damp with wet spots and more than just a few still had food remnants left on them -gross and unhealthy. Arcade and bowling is super fun, but service is really poor. Even on a slow night, you have to wait 10-15 minutes -- sometimes more -- for a server to come, even when you request a server multiple times with the computers on each lane. When you order, it takes FOREVER to arrive, even for something as simple as a glass of water or a can of Redbull. Makes me think their staff is incredibly lazy. I've gone three times now, service was ridiculously slow every time. You can do better, Bowlero. This is too good of an idea to let go to waste with crappy staff and service! read more

First off the saving grace of our evening was Yusello (Gisello?) our server. Kudos! So we arrive around 6 PM and there are 5 people behind the bowling check in counter and no one in line. We still wait at least 5 minutes before being put on the wait list. Okay. New business. Growing pains. We sit at the bar nearest the kitchen. 10 minutes and the bartenders don't even walk over. A server stops to see the other couple at the bar but she doesn't talk to us. Later, we get paired with the same server. We move to a table right where the servers pick up drinks from the bar (I know how this works). Yusello is with us in a heartbeat to take our order. 5 minutes later I see my drink at the bar and our server is there to pick it up. She stands there for probably 10 minutes being ignored by the bartenders waiting for my wife's drink. Meantime, our food is served and we don't even have napkins or silverware. So the runner pulls her off the bar (because God forbid he get those for us) and she gets them. Still no drinks. Probably not 10 minutes later but most of the food is gone before we get the first round. Seriously only the bartenders to blame. We were 8' away - no mystery. Food was...acceptable. How they will dream of stealing food business from Settebello, Larsen, Yardhouse, even Red Robin is a mystery to me. We strolled around the arcade waiting for our lane and got situated quick. We had a couple rambunctious drunk guys next to us so the manager was very accommodating and moved us to another lane (thank you guy with wavy black hair). Sadly we got put back with the server who ignored us to begin with so we made sure to tip our initial server in cash. Checked it out during second day opening. I like the layout with double side lanes. It's much pricey than other bowling alley. Played one game with show rental for two pep 25.00. The arcade game are pricey as well, a bit hard to track the credit to dollars you start losing count quick. A five dollar card was only enough for two games. Order a kid chicken with fries. My family and I have been twice we since it opened and we love it. The food is surprisingly good. Most bowling alleys don't have the best food but this one does. I'm a foodie and love trying anything everywhere I go. The kids were really excited to bowl and play the games. My son lived the VR game and wanted to play no stop. My daughter loved it all. They have balls set up for you with each size at all the lanes which makes it easier than searching for your own ball that you may never find. Only thing is the games cost a lot of "tokens" and the options for them are a bit expensive.
