Hosted a work event here for the second year and must say their staff is accommodating and return phone calls right away. They are always available for questions and were really great. This place can use some updating but I guess at the same time some bowling alleys should look outdated. Their prices are pretty reasonable and they do offer a bar and food. Pizza is decent and bar prices are pretty cheap. I wish they would update this venue just a bit because it could really be a fun place. read more

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! I've bowled here since I was in High School (2004) but I will NEVER EVER go back again. I now work for a nonprofit that supports special needs adults and we bowl here really often (at least twice a month). Any day we go to Bowlers City, they charge us no more than $3.00 per person however today was a complete rip off. they charged a group of 6 special needs adults $50.00 total to bowl 1 game each!! SERIOUSLY?!?! when I called to ask why he said pretty much told me oh well. I also had another group of 7 go to Lodi lanes where they were charged $17.50 for 1 game. I will NEVER go back to Bowlers City as long as I live and I highly encourage any Day Program, Group Home, or Support Coordination not to go here and go to Lodi instead. They even have nasty attitudes which I've overlooked serve all times. I'm completely disgusted. read more

I went with a group of people. Four to be exact. We were bowling , when an unhappy dialogue occurred between a crooned and the manager. I was bowling , so I missed the dialogue. I tuned in late. I joined the dialogue , but the manager was nasty. Well ..... my nasty came out to play. All this occurred over the mask issue. On that issue , that manager is the gestapo. He got so nasty , that he threw us out and gave us our money back. He could not be reasoned with. Truthfully , he needs to grow up. We will never go to bowler city again. We found another bowling alley in Wallington. They do not enforce the mask issue. I recommend wallington lanes to anyone over bowler city. Bowlero lanes is a very relaxing environment to bowl at. Bowler City is pretty cool. My best friend and I go bowling here semi-regularly and you can get good deals on certain nights. The building to be fair is an old dump but it doesn't matter. Its bowling right? They have a snack bar where you can get burgers and other things. I got an order of fries there once which considering where I was wasn't too bad. Now if I could only beat Shawn at bowling. Seriously I never ***** win it pisses me off. I lost recently by 1 ***** pin and he's laughing at me the whole car ride home. Umm... oops sorry to vent! A trip back in time! Randomly visited this place on a Friday night and it was super cool! I am not a great bowler so I was not excited to go to this place, however, after I walked in I saw bowling, a bar, food, arcades, pool tables a juke box and and more which was a whole lot of fun in a small city. Almost everything looks like it's it's at least 20-30 years old, perhaps even older. Some of the pool sticks are tapped up, damaged and should be replaced but everything else seems just fine. The food is good and drinks are cheap. I ordered buffalo wings and chicken fingers for $12.50. A drink and seltzer for $6.50. This is not a place that's modern in any way, including some of the TV's which makes you feel like you are back in time. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Loved it there and will return if I'm around the neighborhood for some good old time fun. read more

Although the wait seems long at first, there are plenty of other options to entertain yourself in the meantime. The bowling alley is overall well kept. Decent food/drink options as well. (Curly fries and original and CIROC gluten free vodka - all my needs were met :) !! Even though it was very hectic and busy, Mary at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating when I had to go back to get a smaller pair of shoes. James in the cafe area was SO kind and professional when it came to managing rude customers that were trying to rush me. I also have a gluten allergy, and the bartender Brian was sensitive to the fact and caring. Note to Girls- get the pink balls (8 or 10lbs)** Also, the proper bowling etiquette is to wait until the person next to you bowls so you aren't releasing at the same time lol. After his first experience bowling in Queens, NY, my 5 y/o wanted to go again soon so we bought Groupon for bowling in Hackensack, closeby where his grandma lives. We did get a chance to immediately use the Groupon (about $30 for two hours for up to 5 people) but a few weeks later we did. I believe you have a few months before it expires. We went there on a Saturday afternoon about 3 pm. The parking lot was pretty big and had quite a few spaces available for 3pm on a Saturday. There were a lot of people in the alley but not overcrowded by any means. The counter people were very nice. They had no problem accepting the Groupon and set us up by asking for our shoe sizes. I do like that the shoes were the Velcro type and not the laces as it is a lot easier to put on and take off, especially for the little ones. We were asked if we wanted a lane in the normally lit area or toward the darker end with the track colored lighting. We chose the darker end as the lights seemed pretty cool. The name-entering equipment seemed pretty old, as with most bowling alleys I've experienced, but got the job done. Lots of balls available at each station but you'll have to do some hunting to get the 8 and 6 balls. I saw lots of 12s and 14s. It would have been nice if the ball sizes/numbers were better organized, but it was 3pm and I would imagine throughout the course of the day that they would get mixed up anyway. Bowling was great. You can either have bumpers up or down, and not split up having the bumpers up for some players during a game while having them down for others in the same game. A worker, manually comes over to put the bumpers up and down as you request them. So you have to decide whether you want them up or down for the entire game. The workers were great. We had a few balls/pins stuck/out of place and workers were there within minutes to fix/clear the lane. There is a bar area that serves alcohol/beer as well as a food area which serves basic stuff like hot dogs, fries, pizza, wings etc... I added a photo of the menu in the photos section. You can also get drinks there but there are vending machines scattered along the backside of the alley selling snacks and drinks. Water in the machines were $1.50 and Gatorade was $2.50, not the cheapest but a helluva lot better than Movie theater prices. There was also a game room in the back which was pretty big. They had a change machine along with a good assortment of games including racing, basketball, guitar hero, fruit ninja and others. I thought it was a nice addition to keep the little ones (and adults) occupied in case they got bored or wanted something different other than bowling. We were able to bowl 4 and a half games with the three of us in the two hours that we were allowed with the Groupon. An overall great time. I would love to go back again. read more

I recently went to this bowling alley twice. Both times i went i wanted to take my four year old to learn how to bowl. First time i asked if any lanes were available because i noticed there was a league about to play. I was told to wait a minute. A few minutes later the manager asked me how could he help me and again asked if there were any lanes available. Of course there wasnt because of the league. My son was disappointed but i managed to convince him we would go back another day. a week later, i went right after school and drove out there again. Once i get there, i noticed two school buses. I go in ask for a lane and again "no lanes are available because of SCHOOL leagues" I told the guy at the front desk this is the second time this has happened! Nowhere on their website has a schedule when the alley isnt available to the public at certain days and times. Completely disappointed in this place. read more

I haven't gone bowling in more than 5 years. It's been a long time. However, some friends suggested that we pop in here to play a few games on our way home last night, so I went along. Bowler City is not one of those newly renovated, high-end bowling alleys that charge $10 per person per game on Friday and Saturday nights. Instead, it is charmingly caught in a time warp, with funky space age imagery along the walls, neon colored house balls, and all of the original furniture and fixtures you would find in a bowling alley circa 1970's and 1980's. And the prices... We decided on one of their summer specials - $50 which includes 2 hours on a lane, free drink tickets (add $1 each if you want a beer instead of a soda), and shoes rentals. There were three of us, so for $50 we got 3 shoe rentals, 4 games, and 3 free drinks. That's a damn good deal! I would definitely come here again. In fact, with these prices, I just may start bowling more. read more

Came here this past Labor Day. We were initially told the way would be about 45 minutes. So we stepped out, came back and I think the number still hadn't moved. There's maybe 4 arcade games there, and they aren't really that great. We were just tired of waiting. There's about 50 lanes here and it was PACKED. The people here are not so friendly either. Tons of little kids with their annoying parents everywhere. Overall, we finally got to bowl and did have a great time. There were really no issues there. I'm just happy there was no kiddie birthday parties going on in this zoo because I would have lost my mind. I would come back here with friends, just maybe not on a holiday. read more

I bowl almost everyday and don't care for bowling here. Oily lanes, temperamental keyboards on the scoring system, and it's kinda dirty. Plus it's expensive- $5.50/game/person... Plus shoes (another $4/person). You can bowl elsewhere for $15/2 hours/person and it includes shoes. A way better deal, and it's cleaner. The staff is nice, but their party people leave a lot to be desired. The only nice thing is that its big, so if they are busy you may not have to wait. But for what they charge, I would expect it to be way cleaner, and updated. read more

I've always gone to this place and never had a complaint until today when this man Dan gave my friends a horrible attitude when they walked into the bar he denied them service without even asking for identification and they are 21 years old and he told my friend if she continues with her "attitude" he's not gonna serve her anything and we were in shocked because my friend was talking to him normally and he didn't wanna serve them because "they looked too young" even though they were showing their ids. and when we left i told asked him for his name and same thank you for your horrible service and he laughed and said you're welcome. whoever is his boss better fire him because i swear his service was disgusting. This place was a big disappointment from the food to the customer service. The lanes and seating are so close together that we constantly had to wait for the family next to us to get there little kids out of the way for us to bowl. The kitchen was run with high school kids that had no supervision and just seemed overwhelmed. We went to the bar and got sold a overpriced margarita that came to us in a Dunkin Donuts cup. The ball got stuck in the side they came and looked and did nothing about it. We tried several times to get someone to remove the ball stuck in the gutter but we had to bowl the remaining game with a ball stuck in the gutter lane. Been here quite a few times for kids birthday parties. They do a pretty good job. Food is decent and prices are reasonable. The alley is a little dated compared to say, Lucky Strike, but it's still fun. They have a bar, party rooms and an arcade. Bowler City has this great $2/game deal on Mon-Wed after 9pm! It's amazing for those who are just looking to have a fun time and hang out with friends. It was pretty crowded when I got here Wed night at 9, but we had a lane after 10 minutes or so of waiting. It's not the cleanest of places, but it's got a lot of lanes, working machines, booze, and food. The food isn't extraordinary, just a bunch of fried options. The bar is really sticky, so you may just want to get your drinks and head back to the bowling area. Bowler City has a loyal clientele and their deals are pretty awesome. I'm definitely going to try to come back to play more often. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Tried to bring my family who is visiting from Brazil here to enjoy a team game and right off the bat the male attendant had an attitude. When I asked if we could have one lane he asked how many people what does it matter how many people if we are paying for the hour? Finally my family decided to pay for two lanes. Middle of the game the lane stops working and they tell us we have to go to a lane on the other side of the bowling alley. What a joke. The food is DISGUSTING. Pretty sure they re-heated the fries from last night they were so stale i couldn't even eat them. Only good thing about this place is their bar tender bob. Surprised this place is still running. recently I went to a birthday party at this place I really like bowling but if you're there for the arcade I wouldn't go.like none of the arcade machines are actually working so if you buy tokens you're just giving them some free money. only like four machines were working like if you're gonna have a arcade and if none of them are working just don't have a arcade.I literally saw one of the workers going around putting temporary out of service signs on The machines. your buying tokens for nothing!!!!! There's a couple other ones were completely broken like the plastic was broken !!!!!!!!!!!! Went here for a night of fun with family and friends and had a blast! Everyone else had the food and there weren't any complaints. When I tried to order something they were cleaning however. The bartender was ok. The bowling alley itself is kept nice and seemed cleaned. It wasn't hard to find a good ball and the music was ok for the late night bowl on Saturday. read more

Ahh bowler city... if you haven't a birthday here as a kid or even now, you're missing out! They have a ton of lanes so getting one shouldn't be an issue on a normal night. Not sure when the league nights are and such, but hey have a bar lol. The bar used to be cash only, but they finally decided to step into the 21st century and accept credit cards. They have an arcade, as all bowling alleys should and it hasn't been updated since 1999. Old school games, which some people enjoy and some don't, but hey, a dollar for some nostalgic games isn't so bad. As for the bowling, it's just ordinary. The lanes might be a little bit more oiled than other places, but it's still fun. They never seem to have a shortage of shoes, they do have rent-a-lane for 2 hours (not sure when it starts), bumpers if you need it haha Nice local place to visit if you're up some BOWLINNNN. read more

Awesome bowling! They offer a whole set of summer deals which were a great value. We opted for deal #2 which was 3 games, shoe rental, and one medium soda for $10 per person. Despite the fact that they switched our lanes three times because of parties and such, the whole experience was awesome. The bowling is fun, the bar is awesome, and the snack bar is convenient. I've been to this place countless times with my family when I was younger and it was awesome! My boyfriend and I just got back into bowling, so we've been to other places like Lodi Lanes and Brunswick zone. We decided to take double date with my cousin and her boyfriend yesterday, so we took them bowling. Picking this place was the worst mistake. The lanes were so narrow. The floors are super, super oily. Everything. The finger holes are disgustingly filthy. And the seats are so close together that I felt I was in their party. It's sad. I went there today with an Autism Day program and was shocked to find out the increase per game. Prior to covid we used to pay $2.95 a game as a special price due to special needs program. Today it had jumped to $7.00 a game! I knew there would be a price increase due to covid, price increases of course but when I asked if there was a discount for us, the man just said "NO" I explained that we used to always come and have been coming for 12 years and have multiple sites that use them and got no where with him. The place was empty and by the time we left was still. I am dissapointed in the lack of empathy due to the fact that we have been coming for many years. Some of our members actually worked there when they first opened the kitchen cleaning it. Some of our members actually participate in a special needs bowling league there. What a nice bowling alley. It's bright, clean, and well-maintained. I take my child for kid's bowling on Wednesdays ($8 each week for two games). The arcade is spacious and has cool games. The cafe has great food at reasonable prices. A small order of fries is $2.95, and they are delicious. I couldn't stop eating them. My friends enjoyed their burgers and chicken tenders. Big parking lot, and they have a bar area open in the evenings. ATM on the premises. Nice staff. They might sound hurried on the phone, but they are very sweet in person. read more

Second time there and it was again great fun. The prices are reasonable, they have laser bowl with fun music and video screens for all to watch. The best thing is how toddler/preschool friendly they are. Taking a two/three year old bowling there is pretty awesome; they have dedicated lighter balls, bumpers on all lanes and plenty of ramps shaped like crocodiles. If you want to bowl at a super cheap, classic bowling alley then this is where you should go. It has a bar with very inexpensive beer and mixed drinks. You could never bowl this cheap in Manahattan. I bowled with 6 people a few nights ago for 2 hours and we spent $11 per person. They have coupon specials they'll send you in the mail that you can sign up for and recieve specials for $2 per game. People rated the staff and food negatively. The people that work there have been there for most of their life. You're not going there to make friends that you'll have over for the holidays, you're going there to bowl. As far as the food... who goes to an old school bowling alley and expects good food? Went on Saturday night with a call ahead for 20 people. We got 4 lanes, and everything went smooth. There are maybe 50 lanes, so this place is pretty big. The ball situation is add, you have to basically enter people's camps to get balls, but I bring my own so I didn't have to go through that. The table set up is odd, with no one really sure who gets what table. We had to ask someone to vacate when we got there, and then got asked to leave a table we had taken when someone needed to bowl next to us. All the chairs are bolted to the tables and swivel, which was also weird. The lanes themselves are SUPER oiled. I had to constantly wipe off my ball, and I was not getting the hook I am used to. If you bowl here, you'll get used to it, but it took me 3 games to get to my average. If you bowl seriously and this is your lane, only bowl here. Saturday night was disco red pin, so once that started all seriously attempts at bowling were done. Even before the disco lights it was very dark in here and hard to see the arrows on the lane. We bowled 3 games and were there for 3 hours, without shoes it worked out to $20/person. Not bad. read more
