This is def an older Bowling Alley tucked in Union City. If it wasn't for the big sign on the side of the building I would have thought it was a runned down factory. Nothing fancy at all. I fact once you open the doors you have to climb a few steps and my son thought we were going into a scary house. Once upstairs it looks more like a bowling alley but very small. Don't expect anything hi tech or modern, very dated and simple. The ball kept getting stuck midway in the lane but it can serve the purpose . A few arcade games tin the lobby and its $3.00 per game. I don't think I will return as the one is Bayonne and Belleville and nicer and they have parking. This one has street and meter parking but there is a municipal lot across the street be prepared to download the paring app to pay for just 2 hour parking...total inconvenience!

Recently I attended a birthday party here with my 4 year old daughter. The place was able to accommodate a large number of children on multiple lanes which was great. The food and beverages took longer to come out then the host anticipated, but everything went pretty well. The location just needed some work. A good paint job would work numbers. All of the kids had a great time bowling and hanging out with their friends.

I had a fun night of bowling with a few friends recently. Fun lanes, old school feel. Parking was a bit difficult, but we managed, since this a popular location on the weekend. The layout of the bowling alley was different than I'm used to considering its in a more urban area, but there was a decent bar and food options (mainly finger foods it seemed) but there were some options. But we were really there for the bowling The lanes and decent and pinsetter and machine worked well the entire time (which can definitely be an issue at other lanes) we enjoyed 4 games and had a great night!

After my terrible experiences with overpriced bowling alleys in Manhattan I decided it might be a better idea to try an alley that leaned more towards the salt-of-the-earth type crowds rather than the clubby crowds the ones in Manhattan ridiculously try to cater to. Jersey seemed to be the answer. However, this alley is like that dark alley you would never want to meet someone in. The place was sketchy from the get-go, even from the outside while looking for a parking spot. This is the type of neighborhood where you run little scenarios in your head about how you might react if you got mugged or car-jacked. You think: Can my keys could be used as a weapon? That should paint the picture. If they had a lit up sign for the bowling alley it was probably out or non-functioning. I'm guessing it's not on their to-do list for fixing anytime soon. Along the side of a brick building you will find the door to the place that reveals an ominous stairway that leads up. Once you get to the top you can breath a sigh of relief and put your fears aside. It's a bowling alley. A great bowling alley? No. I don't own a bowling ball nor do I foresee myself making that kind of purchase in the near future. For the people that don't own their own bowling balls, be prepared to search from an odd assortment of balls that are either too heavy, too light, or have finger holes that are made for creatures that aren't human. Naturally, we lost a couple balls because we had a lane that didn't work quite right. On more than one instance, "the guy" had to be called in to fix one or two problems with the lanes by walking onto the lane itself. Despite all this, we had a good time and I could not complain about the prices. I think it was about $8 a game. No shoe rental fee. It was about 1/5 the cost of an alley in Manhattan. They had the typical greasy food and a bar there, not that I partook in any of it. As strange as this experience was, it would still beat out any bowling alley in Manhattan.

Place looks a bit sketchy outside but I've been coming here for years now and it's totally not. Food is okay and beer is nice and cheap. Can't go wrong with that! Also have an small arcade selection and pool table

Ask the Community - Bowl Rite Lanes

Any idea when they'll be getting dance dance revolution?

Probably will not be getting it. Too large to get into the center.

Do they have Dance Dance Revolution in the arcade?

No,we do not have dance dance revolution. Sorry :(

It has been years since I've bowled, Do you have a machine that I can polish my bowling ball?

    Yes we have it all.

Is there a good league shop here to buy bowling gear?

Yes, we do have a pro shop to purchase any of your bowling equipment needs. Some items are in stock and some need to be ordered. Sorry for the delay in answering. We were closed on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.

Hi do you have a parking lot or is there a parking garage near by?

There is a municipal parking lot directly across the street from the entrance to the center. It is a quarter for each hour to park. Free after 6pm and on Sundays. We also share a parking lot with CVS & the Liquor Store.

Upon arriving there were 9 groups ahead of us (YIKES) and you cannot use the Groupon after 6pm. However, the front desk and general manager Kendis, were very accommodating, informative and patient with the amount of times we checked in. Haha The moment something became available, him and his team made sure we didn't miss the 6pm cutoff. My waitress was also great, polite and made sure we were well taken care of . The food was really good, my burger was great, sampler was really good, pizza was decent, the funnel cake fries were yummm. Overall had a great experience.

I ended up at Lucky Strike in Chelsea with a few friends after work, kind of a "why not, let's just…read morebowl" situation, and honestly, it did the job. The whole vibe is very "planned fun," but in a way that works. You walk in and it's loud, lights everywhere, music going, lanes on one side, arcade stuff on the other. There's that mix of corporate outings, birthday groups, and random people just hanging out. It's not trying to be some cool underground spot, it's more like, here's a lane, here's a drink, go have fun with your people. Once we got into our game and started trash-talking each other, it felt relaxed and easy. Service was pretty decent. Our lane server was around enough where we didn't have to flag anyone down, which I appreciate because I hate chasing someone for a drink. Things slowed a little once it got busy, but nothing crazy. Drinks showed up, food showed up, orders were right, no one got forgotten. Nobody was over-the-top friendly or anything, but everyone we dealt with was nice and kept things moving. For a big, kinda chaotic place, that's honestly fine. On value, yeah, this is where you remember you're in Manhattan. By the time you pay for the lane, shoes, a couple rounds of drinks, and some food to share, the bill is... not small. It's definitely not a cheap little casual night out. But if you think of it as paying for the whole "bowling + arcade + bar" package, it doesn't feel outrageous. It makes more sense for a group thing, team event, or birthday than just popping in for one quick game. Fun vibe once you lean into it, service that gets the job done, and prices that are a bit high but kind of expected for where it is. I wouldn't make it a weekly ritual, but if someone suggested going back, I'd probably be like, "yeah sure, I'm down."

Honestly, the whole experience felt like we were in The Twilight Zone. I also tried to buy a bag of chips, but the staff couldn't figure their system out with another customer and told me to just take them and that they would come back to charge me later. Then they later accused me of not paying, which was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional when I stood there for 15 minutes trying to pay. To make matters worse, the next day we received an invoice for $125 completely out of nowhere with no explanation. The invoice was apparently for the arcade, for a group of five people, even though two of the adults didn't play anything at all. The only reason the kids were by the arcade was because the bowling that we paid for didn't work, Between the confusing setup, wasted time, and surprise charge, the whole experience felt like a rip off.

Hidden in the basement of a hotel, but not quite so hidden, the street sign says "$5 Beers and Free Games - Thursdays & Fridays starting at 5pm and Saturdays at 8pm". Awesome deal for the area. Inside it's pretty spectacular. A huge circular fish tank, fun colorful lights and decor. Of course, the games. They have what I think was pac man or some arcade games on the tables. Ski ball in one corner and mini bowling in the other corner. The bowling system sometimes had issues and would shut down but workers fixed that stuff up fast in between rounds. Drinks were pretty tasty. You can be wild and crazy and order a gigantic fishbowl. They're a bit exorbitantly priced. Or just go with a traditional cocktail or their $5 beer specials. My favorite drink I tried was the Marble Queen: Milagro Silver, Coconut, Lime, and a chili salt rim. It tasted like a tequila pina colada. The Stout Old Fashioned was another great choice being both smoky and sweet. Food options. . . . nothing really totally stood out to me. A few appetizers were set up for a large group of us. The cheese with the pretzel nuggets was kind of good. The raw tuna poke in a jar was cute but also. . . . its just poke. I can eat poke not in a jar for way cheaper at so many places nearby. But I really liked some of the accompanying sauces that had like spicy mayo and a cilantro mayo kind of cream sauce. Sliders and nachos were just a-okay. Spinach artichoke cheese dip was a really small portion for a huge group to share. I think I ate like one spoonful but it tasted good. This spot is good for drinks and games more than food. But it's definitely worth checking out especially since the games are free!
