The Hack Shack itself is simple, but the TrackMan is excellent, they had all the women's clubs I needed. The large private room made starting a new sport feel much less intimidating. I have hit at Chelsea Piers and it felt like chaos. This was calm, focused, and genuinely confidence building. If you are a beginner, especially a woman who is nervous to start, go see Evan!

Very poor customer service, He didnt even remember that he met me a week earlier. For $190 Evan was a complete scam!

We took a car share service to avoid the parking costs, and the front staff made it easy to grab our clubs to play. The automatic golf balls keep the rythm of play going. He didn't care that I knew nothing about Golf and made me feel confident in learning a new skill. He was patient and explained what everything meant so I understood the lingo if I was ever on a course (I can #TalkThatTalk now). Having clubs and golf balls already there was very nice, since I don't own any equipment. The simulator used for the lesson is a state-of-the-art golf simulator and is fantastic to see all the metrics in your swing and distance. This made the experience fun and engaging. The accessibility from the parking lots in Jersey City wasn't great (shuttles) but at least the buses were A/C'd last year (2014 from the regular lots in Paramus they weren't necessarily with A/C on). The facilities have a little bit of a crowded feel to them (there were a lot of people here) and the one big downside, always someone walking around telling people not to take pictures, despite taking pictures of NY being one of the big draws. The course itself had plenty of water (we were right by the Hudson & bay), and it had rained earlier in the week - made for some low scores that people loved to see and cheer for (including the eventual winner Scott).

After a few swings Marc was able to diagnose the main issue with the swing and make the proper adjustment. They were able to work through irons, driver and sand wedge within the hour and he is excited to put the revamped swing to use on the course. He also particularly loved the screen that you hit into and the type of data you are able to derive from it (angle of contact, open vs closed club face, etc.). It was easy to see how the adjustment translated into better data and better contact. Now he is excited to put what he learned to use on the course.

I began taking lessons with Marc about three months ago. I have played golf casually my entire…read morelife, but never really got into it seriously until recently. I really wanted to improve my game and was getting frustrated with how inconsistently I was hitting the ball, even though I would work hard to hit the range on a weekly basis. Marc started me out with the basics, teaching me to improve minor things in my swing. He never stressed getting things right the first time, but rather getting me to a point where I could start playing consistent golf and start scoring. As the lessons wemt on, I could feel my swing start to gradually change and fill out more. It was a beautiful thing to experience. After four lessons and a good deal of practice on the concepts Marc has taught me, I am now scoring on the golf course better than I would have ever imagined (from 105s to 88s). My drives are straight and my irons are more accurate than they've ever been, with very consistent, pure contact. This was by far the best decision I could have ever made for my golf game, and I strongly recommend Marc to anyone that wants to learn the right mechanics of swinging a club and wants to finally iron out that nasty slice!
