Stopped in to tune up my swing before a round of golf. Online booking process is pretty easy. The biggest issue is that you reserve a bay for a block of time (30-minute increments), but there is no buffer time in between the group before you and your time. So if the other group ends a minute or two late, then staff cleans it up and sends you to your bay, you can have several minutes of your booking taken up (which is significant if you're only going for 30 minutes). I'd love to see them build in a 5-10 minute buffer time between bookings. Staff seemed indifferent that I was there -- never checked in when we hit or said bye when we left. Maybe it was because they were getting ready to close up, but don't expect high levels of customer service. read more

We had a team outing here for work and had a great time! A few things to note if you're planning a group outing: - the bays are pretty spacious! We had a group of 9 and I think we could have gotten away with just one bay. - the food was pretty decent. The whipped ricotta and truffle burrata were the best! Sliders were also yummy. - the space is cool and fun, perfect for a team outing. - not all the bays have non-golf games available. But the dodgeball game was our favorite, especially the zombie one! EXCELLENT! I booked our company team event at Five Iron Golf and we had an incredible time. Everyone thought the simulators, food and drinks were amazing. Deanna Casanas, Event Sales Manager, was so professional and organized as she knew exactly what I was looking for to make our experience memorable. Slots are reserved for 30 minutes at a time. This doesn't leave any time for settling in, getting the game going and ordering any kind of drinks food. Awkwardly waited for our turn while the last party wrapped up and within 15 mins felt like the next party was lined up waiting for us to finish. They should make them minimum one hour slots. Besides that it was a fun experience. The food is by far the worst part of the experience. Ordering was simple and fast. However the food took a long time to come out (after our 30 mins was over) and somehow came out cold and in many cases burned. We had sliders, quesadilla, wings, and fries. The only edible thing was the fries. Don't recommend eating here at all. read more

Super convenient location to practice golfing in K Town near the PATH and many other subway lines. For some place indoor, it's actually quite spacious. There's other stuff here like ping pong, and basketball to play while waiting for the next hole. There's a lot of mini games here and some cool video software that records your swing so you can get better. I didn't try the food, but it looks like a full bar. read more

I was extremely disappointed, while this was supposed to be my first ever golf experience & was looking forward to it. I was just there this weekend as a date & there was no host to instruct or advise us on what to do for our duration. There was no hospitality and felt very dismissed. While we prematurely ended our session due to being confused on what the instructions were, how to navigate the screen & utilize the clubs, we didn't get to eat due to the kitchen closing early when they're last reservation is at 1030... I was so disappointed and looking forward to this place. Most likely would not return, wish it was better communication on their end. read more

This place was an absolute blast. I brought my golfing friend who was visiting from out of town and we had an awesome Sunday night here. There are large TVs for sports and a great bar which they're happy to provide you with the classic golf course cocktails. Our host (pro), Nick was a riot. This isn't for me. I don't like to be reminded that we could be in a simulation. That's all I thought about when I was playing simulated golf here. If everything is a simulation, this simulation must be a whole lot better than whatever reality the organisms are living in that created this simulation. Why would they need to create a simulation if their reality was so great? Maybe real and simulated consciousnesses always think it can be better, that's why people are buying Mark's VR goggles. I don't know how many simulations I'm off from reality, maybe this is the first one. That being said, I'm not ready for golf to be simulated. There is nothing wrong with real golf...or what feels like real golf. read more

I've been a member of Five Iron a little over a month now (plz refer to my effusive review of other location for more deets). Since this new location is in my neighborhood smack dab between work and home, I've been hitting it up like no one's business! It's so convenient for me to get to, and essentially same super-friendly and attentive staff as Flatiron. I actually prefer the layout and roominess of this location, even more so now they have their liquor license so I can get my swing oil on. The decor is very hip and colorful, shockingly so for an establishment in Finance Bro Alley (hey, everyone's gotta know their crowd!). Also, I appreciate the spacious gender-neutral bathrooms. Between the two locations, I've been really maximizing my membership--something my frugal Asian mother would be very proud of. Definitely recommend to my fellow golfer urbanites of all ages. read more

I hosted my birthday event at this location and had a great time. The Event Sales Manager was really helpful in coordinating the event. We all had a really great time. The stars given are for only the good time we had. However, what has occurred after the event is what leads me to leave this review. To my surprise NINE days later, I receive a payment notification (without my authorization) and then a receipt for additional food, 1 additional hour for the simulators and 1 additional hour for open bar. No receipt was provided at the end of the event for me to verify any of the charges, and my card was charged nine days later without my verification. The day of the event, I was provided a different food item than what I originally ordered but did not make a big deal of it because everyone was full. We did not order additional food. The event sales manager apologized and took this charge off for me, which I appreciate. The biggest issue that I have is that the staff member explained that adding an additional hour would be $200. I agreed to adding an additional hour for $200 under the assumption that this would include extending the open bar as well. We already had an open bar package, so i thought when I asked how much it would be to extend the time, the staff member would quote me a price that was inclusive of the drink package. Apparently, he did not and the cost for the open bar was $375 in addition to the $200. Obviously, this is way more than I agreed to with the staff member. This was a huge miscommunication on their staff member's part. And because I did not receive a receipt the day of, there was no way I could have the discussion then. To rectify this, the event sales manager offered to remove the additional hour for the simulator, but has refused to the additional time for the open bar and instead offer a gift card to come back. I agreed to pay $200 thinking it included the additional time for the simulator and open bar, and thus, I should only be charged for this and not $375 + tax and fees. The gift card will not be of any use to me because I do not plan to return or recommend to anyone. If you have an event here, make sure that you have complete understanding of all charges and a final receipt the day of to avoid my situation. read more

This place is amazing! As an NYC transparent from California, it's so hard to find a good place to golf in the city. Five Iron is a great place to work in your game or enjoy food/drinks with friends casually. Specially John and Nick are the most hospitable, insightful hosts you would look for. I personally cannot drive well - they both took time out of their busy schedule to coach me up. 100% must visit for any golf enthusiast or any group looking to have some casual fun. I was due to visit the Flat Iron location for the first time for a 60min lesson with their most junior instructor, for which the fee was $120. The morning of the lesson I got a test message from that instructor saying he was sick and couldn't make it. Positive points for the heads up with decent notice. Negative points on making much of an effort to figure out a Plan B. But then, when I called Flat Iron the person at the front desk was pretty helpful and found me a senior instructor to take the place of the junior guy for the same price, even though it would normally have been $160 for the hour, which I was pretty happy with. However, not long after that I got a text asking me if I could come 30/60mins earlier as the senior instructor had to leave. Sadly, and this is on me, I didn't actually see/read that test til I was already on my way. But, I ended up still going, hoping I could still get some simulator time. In the end, the senior instructor was there and could take the lesson. Which was pretty solid - definitely better than the lesson I had at Chelsea Piers. If you are thinking about lessons I think the data analysis their simulator offers really helps the instructor to quickly isolate why, specifically, the swing needs help, and quantify it. Further, using the simulator they're really able to communicate to you what needs to change. If you're thinking about golf lessons in NYC area I've done a fairly extensive analysis and I think the value of the Flat Iron ones is pretty strong. And that's before factoring in the added benefit of the data analysis in the simulator. All in all, a few logistical wrinkles on my first visit but the team always tried to make the situation right and I really respect that. Definitely would go again. read more

I had heard a bunch about Five Iron Golf and their original Flatiron location from a few friends, so I was excited to hear that another location was opening closer to where I live/work in Financial District. The facility itself is top notch - there around 10 hitting bays that are individually extremely spacious and the whole place has a very fun vibe to it. They just got their full bar and kitchen up and running, so that certainly is a bonus when going with a group of friends to hang out and relax. The simulators are top of the line, whether it's just going to the virtual range to work on the game or playing a simulator round at one of the many courses they have available. The staff is always friendly and accommodating - highly recommend checking out this place if you're looking for an indoor place in NYC to hit balls! read more

I hosted a Surprise 30th for my bf at the Five Iron Golf location in FiDi and it was the absolute perfect venue. We had about 60 people and every single guest was blown away by the simulators, the service, the venue, and food. I worked with Sam V in the planning process and he was extremely communicative and easy to work with. Onsite, I worked with Carol who really took the reigns and ensured all guests were taken care of as well as handling the F&B / desserts. I love this place. It is a great place to chill out and watch some games on the TV, put some serious or casual practice into your golf game, and grab a drink. Right now it's still getting set up, as they're waiting on their liquor license, but once it's in full swing I have no doubt this place is gonna be a hit. I went to the Flatiron location with a group of people to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We had such an amazing time. The staff was so helpful and nice, and the space was clean and very impressive. They have a great selection of clubs for men and women, and wide selection of courses to play all over the world. The food was also delicious, (high praise on the sweet potato tots, quesadillas and cheeseburger sliders) and beer/drink selection was top-notch too! I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to get a group (large or small) together and play a round of golf (in air conditioning) while drinking great beer and eating great food. read more

This place is excellent. Very well run by the staff. Every time I go the team is helpful, enthusiastic and have great recommendations. There is a HUGE selection of great clubs to borrow from. That's something I enjoy when just doing driving range mode. Calloway, Taylor Made etc. a great line up that lets me see how performance changes with clubs. Plenty of modes or challenges to keep anyone interested. They also are very diligent about their Covid protocols. I highly recommend this place for any level golfer. read more
