Tried some bites here as part of a work event! I was looking forward to trying it since it had been on my radar to try but with no good excuse. Pizza was okay, there's certainly better in the downtown area but still decent for a group to share. The pies had a good amount of toppings, even the meat lovers which had good variety! This place has the most amazing happy hour specials! My husband is a UM fan and this is one of the major Michigan bars in the area and he loved it! We stopped by this spot for Friday happy hour, and it was a good time! Drinks were just $8 during happy hour (we're total suckers for a good deal), and the whole place had the perfect sports bar vibe--full Friday mood. The service was on point, the ambiance was lively with good music, and it felt like the ideal place to hang out with friends after work and just chill. Just went to Brickyard to watch the Big East tournament & the Knicks. This is a Manhattan sports bar. They didn't have either game on (but had two world baseball classic games on 90% of the TVs). The staff seemed super annoyed when we asked to change one of the 75 TVs to LOCAL SPORTS. read more

Went here for a quick dinner after a long day of touring the city. Loved that the service was so quick and had so many selections of food and drinks. Loved how they had so many TVs to watch sports and a nice selection of music. Had the steak and fries and passionfruit margarita. To end the meal we got the cheesecake which was also very good. Came here for a work outing - food and drink was good and our waiters were very attentive for a large party. TVs everywhere playing every sports game imaginable. I was really hopeful about this place given the reviews on here and on Google. However, I was left disappointed. Let's start with the glows: Service: 4/5. We were seated quickly. Our waitress was mostly attentive. Everything came out really quickly. Ambiance: 4/5. It is a really cute bar with a variety of seating options. Drinks: 5/5. While I only had one drink (a Moscow Mule), it was delicious. Now for the grow... Overall Food Rating: 2/5 The food was underwhelming overall. The black truffle fries were crunchy but lacked flavor. The meatballs were the best dish we tried, though still just okay--the bread served with them was bland, and the texture of the meatballs wasn't ideal. The pigs in a blanket were overwhelmingly salty, and the wings were a complete miss, with a sauce that left a harsh, chemical-like aftertaste. Definitely not a place we'd revisit for the food. read more

We constantly felt rushed. We came to watch a football game at noon and were told we have to leave by 3. (Um... football games are longer than 3 hours.) They constantly came around and tried to clear our partially eaten food before we were done. They even tried to take someone's napkin before they were done. We did order food several times (bill was over $130) and also.... it's a sports bar. You know people are going to sit around. We saw another table run into the same issue. We went because the University of Michigan had them listed as a game bar, but since they clearly try to push you out after halftime it's not one I'd recommend. Also some pints are like 12 bucks! read more

I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!

I noticed he didn't pester any of the guys around me to order more. (I tipped my original bartender well because he was great). Just be aware some bartenders think 'bitter' is their brand There 's no need to be weird to customers unless you want to drive them away. I'd hate for that to happen to an otherwise great bar.

I ordered the chicken strips based on the otherworldly photos I had seen on Yelp and they were as impressive in person as in the pics. Unfortunately they were heavier on the wonderful and tasty batter than on the extremely thinly sliced chicken. Still, it tasted great -- just not as good for my waistline as what I was expecting. My cider was tasty until a bug decided to provide me with an assist and dove in headfirst to forget about his bug problems. He passed out immediately. The waitress offered to give me a new one but I couldn't show up to my afternoon shift three sheets to the wind and not expect anyone to notice so I washed out the taste of the bug with a Diet Coke and I washed on my way. I will probably be back to tempt fate again based on the energy and the talent of the chef who clearly puts a lot of effort into these chicken strips!

Hadn't been to the bar since it re-opened from the East Side, but whether you go to see the Valkyries or Warriors at the Garden or the 49ers to play the Giants or the Jets at the Meadowlands, this place is conveniently a block away from Penn Station and MSG for a pre or post party celebration. Thanks to Dieter and gang for letting me know about the pre-party on Saturday. It was 49er HQ for the weekend. Of course they have shuttles and packages that leave from the bar when the Giants come to town as well. Highly recommended!
