I am a big fan of Bouquet Restaurant for dinner or just stopping in for a glass of wine and cheese plate. Sitting outside st the sidewalk tables on a nice evening is fun to do also; however, I don't know if I would have a full dinner out there. I wasn't going to write a negative review of my dinner that I had there last nght, but I think I would be doing injustice to the chef and patrons. Last night we had 6:30 reservations and sat at one of the back tables and it was very nice. We were one of the first patrons to arrive for dinner, and by the time we left, the tables were 80% full. It is a small place, so it doesn't take much. When I looked at the menu and saw they were serving Cornish Game Hen, I immediately knew what I was getting. I always see these in the meat store but I have never had one. I was excited as I told our waitress my order. It sounded so lovely. Unfortunately, instead of baking the Hen whole, as it is normally served, the chef cut it up and fried it. So, I basically had small peices of fried chicken. It was also overcooked and dry. I struggled through dinner with what to do. I wasn't enjoying the 'chicken' and I couldn't even eat the vegtable mixture that was underneath because it was way more than aldente. I wanted to tell the waitress my issue just so the chef knew, but I didn't want to seem like I was complaining. So, I only had a couple bites of my food and left there still hungry. However, the wine we had was excellent. I'm just sad that I didn't like my dinner. Moral of this story - when ordering a Cornish Game Hen, always ask how the chef will be preparing it. read more

Dinner at Boquet last night was wonderful. We had a party of 6. We all did the tasting menu, which is 3 picks from each of 3 areas on the menu. I had the strawberry salad. It was excellent. The pesto made the salad. I followed that with the Saffron Risotto. Creamy and beautiful bites of asparagus. Then came the Maple Leaf Farms duck. I have never had better duck. Perfectly cooked. Sweet and smoky. The roasted vegetable accompaniment on the parsnip puree was perfect. The chardonnay was crisp and fruity. I had strawberry short cake for dessert. Strawberry ice cream on top made in house. The shortcake was a little dry but overall, I enjoyed the dish. The service was exceptional. The price was definitely reasonable for the quality of the food and service We were seated on the 2nd floor. One long flight of steps to get there. Someone in our party had recently had knee surgery. Ask for a table on the 1st floor if steps are a problem. Great evening was had by all in the party. read more

This is our kind of place! Every single thing we ordered was delicious. The flavor combinations are original and adventurous unlike any other restaurants in the area. (Loved the quinoa with 55 minute egg, yum!!!!!!) Perhaps the best thing was that the food really tastes healthy and fresh. You won't feel weighted down after a meal here, which leaves room for dessert. Desserts at Bouquet are just as inventive as the mains and are very nicely priced. Let's not forget this is a wine bar! A great selection of wines from around the world at all price points. We ordered a flight which was a fun way to sample several things. My only complaint is that the flights are served in junky glasses, which detracts significantly from the experience. I'll order by the glass next time. This is not a inexpensive night out, but worth every penny. read more

Everything was great. The room, the food, and the service were all excellent. This is a wonderful part of the Covington food scene.

I had been wanting to try Bouquet for quite a while. We went with another couple for dinner on a Saturday night. I was kind of confused because the way it is all presented seemed upscale, yet some people were dressed very nice and some weren't. Anyway, I liked the building itself - very cute. The copper bar upstairs was neat. Our server was nice and attentive and even offered a free taste of one of the draft beers my husband wanted to try but wasn't interested in getting a full glass of. It did get very loud upstairs as dinner progressed. As far as food, our friends had heard that The Motherboard appetizer was supposed to be amazing, so we got it. The smoked salmon on it was nothing but smoke, so that was a miss. The braised pig ear was interesting - the texture was a bit much for me. Everything else was pretty tasty. The cheese was great. We all agreed that it was definitely not worth $38, though. Everything on the menu was very creative and unique, although the options were very limited. I got the burger which had pimento, sauerkraut, pickle (very sweet) on a brioche bun and came with truffled potatoes. It was pretty good. Very different. My friend had the salmon special and remarked that it was the best salmon she ever had. Overall, everything was fine. From what I had heard about the place prior to going, I wasn't overly impressed like I expected to be. Everything seems way overpriced, in my opinion, and the vibe kind of confused me. It was almost like they were trying too hard to be upscale. I'm unsure if I have an interest in going back. read more

The food and service was amazing. The restaurant is charming. The four of us did the tasting and I did the wine pairing, it was truly a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting the restaurant again. read more

The atmosphere was nice, but cold. The servers were very friendly and tried to make things right. The food was a big disappointment from the wine, the small serving of brussel sprouts, the bread tray and the entrees. The quality of the food was not what I expected from a restaurant in Main Strasse and the prices were far beyond what the quality of the product was. read more

The service, the food, the wine! We decided to explore this gem on Valentine's Day. Every single person that worked here were great. We went the small plate route and it was a great way to navigate the menu. Roasted Roots salad and bouquet fries were phenomenal. PBJ dessert is where it's at. Definitely check this place out, it's in a great neighborhood filled with gems. read more

What a charming restaurant! Wonderful restaurant and outstanding food. Service is excellent. Try the burger, it is sinfully delicious. Brussels sprouts are yummy too. I have been here several times and it never disappoints. You can make a reservation on Open Table, which is very convenient! read more

Let me start by saying, the food was great and the service was excellent. So why 3 stars? Well, the tasting menu was confusing, not in the sense of what you got, but in the sense of whether it was actually some sort of a deal. And it's not. It may save you $1-$2 at best, certainly not enough to say it's worth it, especially if you don't want dessert, which we didn't, and the server said that he would go ahead and put us on the tasting menu, that we would get free dessert. No, at $50, the dessert was just part of the price that we would have paid a la Carte. If you're going to do a special menu, make it clear that there is a deal of some sort. Also, the standard pour of a glass of wine is 5-6oz. The pour I got was 3oz. Weak. Slightly disappointing, to say the least. read more

Went to this restaurant for a friend's birthday. First of all, the appetizers and drinks were great. The pickled platter was a great starter for our party of six, and the smoky old fashioned was nice as well (old fashioned with honey/salt down the side of the glass). I don't even drink whiskey, but I tried my husband's drink and it was definitely a game changer for me. Second, the entrees were a bit disappointing for my husband and me. We are both vegan. The website states that any dish can be modified to meet dietary needs and our server articulated this as well. There is even a vegan pseudo-beef party on the menu known as the "Impossible Burger." We both ordered this burger, yet they did not offer vegan buns to go with it. We essentially were served a patty with some onions on top. It seemed like we had paid full price for half a meal. My advice is to not advertise a vegan item without providing buns at least(???) or state that anything can be veganized if you're serving much less than the original entree is worth. Third, the service was aloof. My husband informed our server multiple times that we were vegan, and we asked for the burger without cheese. However, when the food was brought out my husband's sole patty had cheese on it. He had to wait an additional twenty minutes to get a patty without cheese while everyone else had their food. Another member in our party had also ordered a soup as an appetizer that wasn't brought out. He had to remind the server *four* times to bring it out, and by the time it came everyone had finished eating. He was still charged for it. read more

At my most recent visit to Bouquet, which was my third time, I was happily surprised that they have a number of gluten free items that aren't necessarily advertised. If you get the cheese board they have rice crackers. The sweet potato flatbread is also gluten free and hit the spot. I've had their steak and salmon as well and was equally pleased with both. They also try to source locally whenever possibly which is reflected in the taste of their dishes. Great wine and bourbon selection and cute outdoor seating. Bouquet is a go to for consistently good and intimate dining. read more

The staff is incredibly friendly!!!! Every person I interacted with was amazing! Great service.

My fiancé and I came here for New Year's Eve and had a wonderful experience. We were seated as soon as we arrived and had excellent service throughout our entire meal. Our server gave wonderful recommendations, and I can't say enough good things about the food. Sure, the portions are a bit smaller than a less fancy restaurant, but the quality is outstanding. We split 2 small plates: Kentucky lobster (a special) and the bison pot pie -- WOW! The "lobster" was perfectly cooked and paired unexpectedly well with pomegranate seeds (at least I think), fried potatoes and fennel. The pot pie was almost stew like on the inside, and was so perfectly cooked I didn't want it to end! I can't even describe the pork belly in words - it was one of the best Meals I've ever had. We topped it off with a vanilla blueberry cheesecake - which was smooth, creamy and delicious. Finally, the drinks were amazing!!!! I had the smoked old fashioned - bourbon with sorghum -- how can you go wrong?? All in all, wonderful date night. Highly highly recommend!!! read more

Really delicious food in a great setting on the cutest street. Love Covington's bar & restaurant scene! We had a fully array of apps and entrees and the general concensus was that everything was delicious. My husband got chicken and I got the filet (ummm, what kind of twilight zone moment was that? Total role reversal!) and both were outstanding, but my favorite entree was my friends pork chop. Mmmmmm.... Starters were soup, a tomato salad (probably the only thing that didn't blow me away, although it was fresh and light), the sweet potato flatbread, and the Quinoa. The flatbread and Quinoa were amazing. The only thing I didn't love was our wine, and that's not the restaurant's fault! Our server recommended a bottle that she said was popular, but it just tasted "off" to me... of course this was following an Old Fashioned at the Kentucky Bourbon Bar, so maybe it was me that was off! I can't wait to go back! read more

The food was beyond compare! So fresh, original and flavorful. The chef is a mastermind. I had the ny strip, perfectly prepared and the butter glaze was out of this world amazing. Hands down the best place in the tristate whether you want food, beer, wine, or countless bourbon options read more

I literally can't get enough of this place. The portion sizes are perfect along with an excellent wine selection. This is our go to place in the Cincinnati area. The menu prices are very affordable and dessert is always a must. The food was pretty good, but I was underwhelmed for the prices. Desserts were amazing! Pork belly was tough, not great. Servers/staff were awesome. It didn't help that the 2 tables around us were obnoxious. (My girlfriend liked it though. She gives it a 4.) read more

It's been a few years since we visited Bouquet, we decided to stop in last Friday and had a wonderful visit. Our server was friendly and knowledgable, she was attentive without constantly being around. We decided to share everything so we could sample a few dishes. We started with the crab cake and the sweet potato flatbread then split the burger. The crab cake was definitely my favorite. The cake itself had a bit of spice to it, but summer squash purée complimented it perfectly. Little bits of pickled watermelon were a surprising and yummy touch. The sweet potato flatbread was interesting but tasty as well. Smokey mole, sweet apples and rich pork were a great combination. The burger was juicy and seasoned well, but the pickles were my favorite on the plate. Clearly house made. Some may think Bouquet is pricey, but you can still enjoy their fantastic food on a budget. I had 2 glasses of wine and my man had a couple beers and we were still under 70 bucks. Can't beat it! Support your local businesses and give Bouquet a try! read more

We have visited this restaurant several times since it's opening and it's always an enjoyable experience. The service is always above average, the food is creative and delicious and the atmosphere inside is cozy. During our most recent visit we sat outside - not something I would recommend on a Saturday night since there are so many cars and motorcycles driving up and down the street. We tried the "Kentucky Tea" mixed drink and we were rather disappointed....it was watered down and tasteless. For $8, I expected more and would not recommend this drink. read more

What a wonderful find! Fresh, farm-to-table food with masterful presentation in a quaint setting.

I think this was absolutely the best meal I have EVER had! What a quaint restaurant. We started with pork toast. The bread was amazing!!!! So was the sausage. Then I had a Salas with walnuts and zucchini. Unbelievable! Everything is so fresh and the combinations of flavors just melt in your mouth. I had the salmon and my husband had the scallops and we shared. We both said it was the best we've ever had! Congratulations to the chef! We cannot wait to go back. read more

Delicious, creatively combined fresh foods with beautiful presentation. Everything looked and tasted amazing. My waitress was very attentive and everyone was very accommodating to food preferences (ie no dairy for me and vegan for the table next to me.) I tried new foods here: fiddlehead fern and a type of spring onion-type thing...they were happy to answer questions and I always love trying a new food!! read more

Get the burger! Honestly, at first I felt kind of dumb ordering a burger at such a cute and kind of fancy place. But I cannot describe to you how flavorful this burger was. The pimento cheese is out of this world; it is sharp melted gooey goodness. The beef has such rich flavor. That on top of that garlicky toasted bun....Seriously the best burger I've ever had in my life. And of course I can't forget about the pickles. They make them in house. Heck I would get them just as a side. I love it they have so many different beers on draft. And if your bourbon drinker, they have 100 different types of bourbon. I'm really excited to see places like this starting to create a wonderful and fun culture in Covington. read more

We had a very nice dinner at Bouquet. The food was great. It was all soured by the time it took to get our checks (especially when we told them we had somewhere to be) and rudeness of the staff in implicating we were to blame for asking for separate checks. When we went to pay it took us at least 30 mins to get our checks. They said they were not used to splitting that many up (it was 4 checks on a group of 9) and were unapologetic. I would recommend the food but know it may be a long dinner (ours was 2 hours before the check debacle). read more

After an extremely bad experience with no meal served at Libby's Southern Comfort last night, our family of five left extremely frustrated and hungry. At 9pm we did a quick search of the surrounding restaurants and made a quick reservation at Bouquet for 9:15pm. Explaining the very poor service and the very unprofessional way we had been treated during the last two hours, we were graciously received at the door by Bouquet's manager who took us directly to our table. He immediately took our appetizer order as well as generously upgraded our request. The food was fantastic, the service was exceptional and we will certainly return. Thank you, Bouquet, for making our night end in such a delightful way. read more

My brother and I stumbled upon this restaurant last night after the Wine Festival. We loved the massive wine list, the service (managing our expectations about the longer wait) and the AMAZING meal. Both of us had different appetizers, entrees and deserts and we both raved that this was the meal we would choose as our all-time favorite meal and would like as our proverbial last meal. This was completely unexpected from a restaurant I had yet to hear of (I've lived here 2.5 years). To say this was my favorite meal ever is no small feat - I moved here from NYC where I've had amazing meals and until last night my favorite was from the restaurant at the One and Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas. I had the Farmer's Salad (watermelon, pickled onions, feta, grapes, etc.) to start. The Filet Mignon was not short of perfection. Medium rare on a bed of creamed corn, mushrooms (which i usually hate) and Brussell Spouts (BEST EVER). It melted in my mouth and was sooo full of flavor. For dessert, I chose the Carrot Cake with Ginger Ice Cream. Best I've ever had. My brother had and recommends the Cheese Plate, the Flank Steak with Avocado and Chimichurri Sauce, and the Chocolate dessert. It was my brother's first time to Kentucky and he said he wants to fly back JUST to eat at this restaurant again! You will not be dissapointed! read more

The food was awesome. We had a charcuterie board with local meats and cheeses, side of mushrooms, split some soup and the fresh fish special. The fish was meh and so was the service. The server was super unprofessional and wasn't engaging or descriptive of menu items which I usually expect at this caliber of restaurant. He also was slow and would come back wreaking of cigarette smoke read more

Lucky me, arrived on $2.00 oyster night - perfect blue points, with mysteriously flavored oil and sauce. Roughneck beet salad, prepped in way you could imagine the rich earth from which they came. Maybe I don't get out that much but this place scored big with several best ever entrées. The kale salad was the best. The asparagus soup was the best.
