This is our third time here and while the service has gotten better the food seems to continue to be inconsistent. The seasoning on the salmon was overpowering, almost inedible. I love Boulevard in Metairie, but this one is terrible. The service is bad and the food is bad. Even though the menus are the same, the food tastes different. It made me sick last time I ate there so I won't be going back. There are usually 3-4 hostesses standing around at the front and idle waiters milling around and socializing in the back. So I'll start by saying, I generally like thus restaurant. Similar to Houston's in Nola, which is one if my favorite restaurants. Been to the one in Metairie too. There are many food options on their menu I love. And there are some options from the old Houston's that are missing -- Cedar Plank Salmon (veggie side), Couscous side, and the famous skinny shoe string fries. Overall, I love that we have a location on 21 close to my house, as a consistent good dining choice. My biggest complaint in general is, the decor and design are a bit boring honestly, especially for a new buildout, with this type of menu and prices. It could be way more stylish, lighting dimmed a but more like Houston's great ambience. I've been to this new location 4 times since it opened. My last experience was a disappointing one. Celebrating a friend's birthday, Eli was our waiter, ordered tons of good, had 2 rounds of drinks. We were having such a good time, lost in convo. But I had this we're being rushed feeling.:\ We decided to order the Filets as our entrees. Dinner finished, I had half of my Filet left on my plate, the whole mound of potatoes, and all the broccoli, except 1 piece I ate. The Filets were really thin, and overcooked. I always order Medium. For $48, I think the cut of meat should be high quality, thick, juicy, tender. Our meal ended. Went home. Realized then that we were given none of our leftovers to take home. I dont even recall our server asking us if we wanted boxes. Our food was just cleared off right under our noses! Half a Spinach dip, half Smoked Salmon, half Filet left. And for $48/Filet, I should be going home with whatever I left on my plate. I placed a followup call, and they handled it accordingly, offered me something on the house, which I refused. I went here for lunch and it was our first time. I ordered the filet medium and it came out as well done with I'm usually okay with but it was dry and very salty. I used to put salt on everything before I tasted it but I'm glad I didn't this time. The potatoes were very salty as well. I should have sent it back but I didn't. My wife had crab cakes and said they were delicious but also too salty as was the French fries. We also had two friends with us who had the same problem with their food. Distasteful on how they upsale. Food is decent, some items are better than others. The constant upsale of food/beverages disrupts the whole point of going to a classy restaurant. I'll buy what I want... whether a lot or a little. I'd want to go back... but the way they upsale it disrupts my meal. Way too often asking if I want appetizers, drinks, and deserts. Not impressed at all. It reminds me of an upscale Applebees. The bar looks super cool and takes up a good portion of the restaurant. The food is mediocre at best. If I'm going to spend $50 on a filet, I want it to be fabulous! Instead, it was over cooked. The shrimp pasta that the waitress recommended was so bland and the shrimp were so over cooked, I couldn't get enough to drink. The guacamole small plate was good. the service was very slow. If I'm going to pay Keith Young, Dakota or Gallagher's prices, I want to be wowed. Otherwise, I'll stick to those choices. read more

This is my fifth visit and only one has met full expectations. Tonight, we ordered roasted chicken with a house salad, guest orders club salad. Her salad was offered grilled or fried. She chose grilled chicken and it appeared served with chicken that had to be pre-sliced deli meat, thin like you'd eat on a sandwich. She thought she would receive grilled chicken tenders. Noted it was flavorless. My chicken was so salty it was inedible. My side order was served at less than room temperature. The manager took the time to explain what caused this being a breakdown in process on their demi-glace. What he didn't ask is if I'd like something else for dinner, since I hadn't had anything but a salad. Guess he wanted to be sure I knew that he knew the cause of the god-awful roasted chicken. Whether I was hungry might have been overlooked. Interesting after I'd taken a couple of bites, i shoved it aside and when the servers came by neither noted that I wasn't eating it. Add to it I ordered iced tea from the male bartender who when I commented about not receiving it said "i used to be a good server before you arrived." Sarcasm when you forget something is never good form. So I'll pass on this locations for a while and give them a bit more time to work out the wrinkles. Really want it to be consistent like the Veteran's location that we love. They can do it better. read more

The pork chops are amazing! The Salmon appetizer is also great. It is a little on the pricy side but since we split the app and main it comes out to be ok. The booth seating is really bad. We love to sit in a booth but learned that they are so uncomfortable its worth asking for a real table. read more

A friend and I met here for happy hour. We were visiting from out of town and used Yelp to find the place. The ambiance was very pleasant, and the bar/cocktail choices were extensive. We each enjoyed a drink with the deviled egg appetizer. Excellent food and service! read more

We should have left when the waiter told me that he couldn't do my drink. I ordered a certain way. It was an Old Fashioned. I requested muddled fruit and he told me no right away. I asked why and he said they just don't. I insisted to see if the bartender could make an exception, that was TBD. When the drink arrived, it was so sweet, sickly sweet and getting to the rind and cherry, it was not muddled at all. It is the lazy hipster way of doing the "new Old Fashioned". I gathered the bartender and waiter had a lover's spat since he didn't want to ask the bartender for this request, but brought it to me as you asked, "muddled fruit Old Fashioned". It was also Prime Rib night. We were looking forward to getting a tender prime rib, instead it was well done on the outside and rare in the middle, like I have had before, however, this was the toughest Prime Rib I have ever had. Not only did they not bring us steak knives, but it was tasteless and the sides were mediocre. The starter we ordered arrived after our entrees were served, while we were cutting our steaks with butter knives. The starter was a crab cake, which they made as a meal. $24 for one and a side of 3 minute blanched broccoli. The crab cake was the only thing out of the meal that was great, hence the 2 stars. If you are used to the Houston Restaurant, which used to be great 20 years ago, until it got un-godly expensive, not to mention everything I enjoyed they took off the menu. After spending my hard working dollars, I will not be going back there. Fair warning to all who expect a good meal and drinks, just find the cook in your family, get some great steaks, wine and the ambiance will be better. Maybe you can get the Old Fashioned correct, without the attitude. read more

Number 1 pick on the Northshore! Great service, knowledgeable and super friendly wait service. Will definitely be back.....they are lucky they not on Hwy. 190 because I would pick this spot any day of the week. Prime rib cooked to perfection, oysters cooked to perfection (aioli drizzled on top)......the broccoli was even the best I ever had. Me & my 2 friends (all 21) drove an hour from Baton Rouge to be accused of having fake ID's because 2 of us are from Texas. Apparently Texas ID's look "fake" & don't "make sense." (?) Proceeded to bend the ID's and almost snap them in half as if they were fake. *Please train and educate your staff on how to handle this situation & how to talk to adults respectfully.* The bartender looks up a Texas ID and makes a failed attempt to prove my friends ID wasn't real. (She still has a vertical ID because her current one does not expire until 2025.) The bar manager was very disrespectful and rude. Shortly after almost breaking my friends ID, the bar manager tells us that if our "parents were here, they still wouldn't serve us drinks." (?) Overall, a horrible experience. Ambiance is 5 stars! I guess the menu we received on a busy Saturday night could also be their same menu for weekday lunches? Not sure. The salads and sandwiches all sounded delicious but here we were for a nice Saturday dinner and the entree selections were all lacking something special and unique. Started with grilled artichokes and they were okay, but messy. Nothing grabbed my attention for entrees so I went with the cedar plank salmon with creole mustard glaze. It was VERY salty. It originally came with coleslaw as many of the entrees do, but I subbed it out with vegetable du jour bc I only eat coleslaw at picnics! Hubs got redfish with lump crab and he thought it was good but nothing extraordinary. My son got the salmon burger which was probably the best out of all 3 items. Walnut brownie a la mode w/ kahlua was spectacular! We'll go back bc the bar looked phenomenal, but prob with expectations to just go for a salad or sandwich and not a fine meal. It was a long wait. One man came in with his wife and child after us, and he demanded to be seated because he said he was a multiple repeat customer, and he was accommodated for that! It was a long wait for food after ordering, our food came to our table -cold. How does one re-warm tempura chicken? Our server was sweet, but she seemed rattled. We never saw her anywhere in the area to ask for something. It looked like chaos in there. $100 for 2 side salads, 2 entrees of shrimp pasta and tempura chicken fingers., no alcohol ordered for this ok meal. Overpriced. Won't be back. read more

We've been driving to the Metairie location for awhile now. Therefore we were very excited about the new location. The ambience was great! Dana waited on us, she was very friendly. Allison shadowed her and was very thorough in training. The staff and managers came over to our table to welcome us in. Everyone was very friendly Now on the the most important stuff... I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and it was delicious. My husband ordered a crab cake with peanut kale salad which was very tasty- my favorite dish (we shared after I noticed how beautiful his plated looked) ! My son ordered chicken fingers with French fries-- the chicken tenders were bland but the food was very fresh. We also ordered spinach dip- phenomenal! We enjoyed the visit and look forward to going back. If you go and visit, be patient, they are working out kinks as today was the first day opened. I pray they maintain a clean environment across the board as the other restaurants offer in other cities. They are doing great! read more

actually the worst experience. we ordered all main dishes at the same time and everyone got their dishes except one person. so 5 minutes went by and we asked about. another 15 minutes go by and still don't have so i asked to speak to the manager. instead of coming to talk to me she comes to the table finally with our sandwich and tries to blame it on us not ordering all main dishes at the same time which I promptly corrected and stated we did order all at the same time. the manager then instead of addressing us continued to join her friends at a table. she said she brought us a salad and that is how she made up for it. the Attitude and how she didn't even apologize for their mistake was the worst actual service.
