Danger! Stay away. I ordered several items as part of a carry out order. When I got home, we tried the shish tawook and it was so overcooked, we couldn't swallow it. I called the restaurant and explained the situation and told them I would be back shortly to replace the order. I arrived 15 minutes later and they hadn't started the order so I told them to just refund me for the chicken (which I brought back with me minus the one bite we each tried). I then hear the cook say "Don't give him a fucking refund!" He then asked me what was wrong with the chicken which I again explained was severely overcooked. He then told me verbatim "That's because you don't know how to fucking cook!". Shocking. Is this how they treat customers? Please do not support this restaurant. read more

This place is tried and true. Great gyro meat. Great hummus with delicious homemade bread. This stuff is super addictive. Great fresh squeezed juice. Great Middle Eastern food period. I love the staff here because no request is ever too much. I can ask for just broccoli and cauliflower instead of rice and potatoes, extra garlic sauce... I have been eating here for about 6 years now. I've tried almost everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. Everything is always very fresh and delicious! The service is incredible. The staff is very warm and friendly. The restaurant is always spotless! I recent tried their catering service for a group of 30. I ordered a large catering order to be delivered and just before it was supposed to be delivered we found out that Boukie's Grill thought it was an order for the following week. Attention to detail was most def lacking on their end. We had 80 very disappointed folks stuck with no lunch on a Saturday. They said they could put together some food, but it would take at least an hour not including delivery time. Holy wow, this place is yummy. We've gotten it at work a few times and I went to the restaurant for dinner once, and it never disappoints. Came with a group of friends for lunch on a rainy day. It wasn't busy at all for the lunch rush to our surprise. It was us and 2 other tables of guests at the restaurant and one server at the moment. We sat down and they brought us water and the menus. We ordered the platter for 4, fattoush salad and hummus. They started us off with the lentil soup, not bad but who am I to complain about free food? They then brought us our giant dish, with plenty to share. Substantial amount of rice, decent servings of protein and a few heaping spoonfuls of hummus. The rice was pretty bland. It lacked the buttery nuttiness that a good platter of rice should offer. Having lived in Metro Detroit my whole life and working in Dearborn I have had Lebanese and other Middle Eastern food at countless restaurants. Some of the dishes I always get at any of these restaurants are fattoush, falafel, hummus - Boukie's has the crunchiest and best falafel I've had. Great food. Great flavor. The fattoush salad was amazing. The green peppers were so fresh they tasted like the one right out of my own garden. The fattoush drawing was full flavored and the salad was fresh and firm. I hate limpy salad. Had the side of garlic sauce. It was yummy with fresh hot bread. They kept refilling bread as fast as we can eat it. Lol. Like we needed it ha! I ordered the kafta which is a spiced meat roll grilled on a stick. Great flavor but only reason they got 4 stars was they only gave you 1 stick for $9. I'm stuck in a rut of low stars. I expected with all of the rave reviews and the $$ sign that I would really enjoy this restaurant. I didn't like the service and the food was only mediocre. When I sat down I was greeted by the waitress, whom I told I was waiting for a second person. I asked if it was possible to get an order of bread because I was starving, but she said no that I needed to order hummus in order to get bread. I've been at Middle Eastern restaurants my entire life, you always get bread. When we ordered hummus, garlic also came to the table - both were decent but that was the highlight of the meal. Nothing sounded overly appealing (after the waitress said the mujudra was so-so) so I got the Falafel combo platter. This soup came out shortly before our meal and had zero, I mean zero, flavor. I had 2 bites poured pepper all over it and still couldn't muster up the energy to finish it. Later she took away the nearly full bowl of soup and didn't say a word. The Falafel had an odd spice that I didn't care for, although it was fried very well. The rice was decent however I don't think it restaurant specializing in Middle Eastern food can get away with making good garlic and good rice and mediocre every thing else. Extraordinary, fine Mediterranean cuisine. The food here is delicious. From the homemade, fresh-baked bread to the homemade garlic sauce to the chicken cream chop to the lam chops. My wife and I love this place for either eating in or carrying out. We carry out the Cream Chop dinner and Vegetarian Platter every other week. Let me just start by saying Mediterranean is my favorite food. I've traveled to the Middle East and have eaten at many local spots and this is hands down my favorite! I have been 3 times just this week! Fresh pita bread from their stone oven, hummus is perfect balance of lemon and garlic and tahini and perfect texture, their garlic spread is to die for. There baba is so creamy and delicious it tastes like they just roasted the eggplants, the tabuli is perfect and fresh and not over dressed or soggy. Easily the best falafel I've had in the USA crunchy outside soft inside and perfect flavor, I'm not a huge fan of spinach pies though I did eat half of one and enjoyed it, soft sweat bread with a yummy spinach filling. The veggie grape leaves here are also amazing! Huge in size and perfectly moist with all the right flavors just a dip in some yogurt which I would guess they make it house because it's top notch. The crushed lentil soup here might be my new favorite just a squeeze of lemon and it's perfect so think and satisfying full of flavors. Even the mjadras is amazing and made just the way I love it with out the rice! Their rice pilaf is perfect tender rice with vermicelli noodles and slivered roasted almonds on top. I really love their almond rice salad I choose to add chicken shawarma which is moist white meat seasoned perfectly! Oh and the chicken kabob is amazing too! Quality grade chicken super moist grilled to perfection skewered with yummy veggies to add some color and extra flavor. Overall there is not enough good I can say about the food and the service is amazing as well. The owner Ali is great and when I had a large carry out he helped me carry it to my car. Brandon is my favorite server, I request him when I go in, he is very attentive and gets the order right. While everyone there has a smile and is great too! came here two years ago and had a good experience so decided to return. our waitress did not understand english- which usually isn't that much of an issue but we were trying to ask questions about the difference between the shawarma salads and add shawarma to a lebanese salad. she assured us they were the same base. well they're not. so that was pretty irritating because we didn't get what we were expecting (also were auto given small salads and didn't get asked for a size) and she easily could've asked another staff member to help with comprehension. good food though, grilled vegetables were a bit greasy but also good. would return read more

My family and I love this place... delicious food and ridiculous portions; the dinner plates will feed you for at least two meals :) When we're feeling lazy and don't want to deal with Main St. parking we'll use GrubHub and delivery usually takes 30-mins max. Greek food travels well too so nothing ever ends up soggy. Our favorites - Fattoush Salad, Falafel, Shawarma Plate, Lamb Gyros Plate, Chicken plate, Shish Kafta... you can choose soup, rice, salad or fries as a side for any of the their "plate" meals... their food is well seasoned, full-of-flavor and tastes very fresh. Their sandwiches are also very good - I usually go with the Lamb Gyro. I highly recommend their hummus and pita as well... it's to die for, super creamy and delicious. Went there on Friday with the family and a friend. I have to admit that the food was FANTASTIC!! The service was very good! So, why the one star? The restaurant only uses 1 fryer to fry everything, so my oldest son, who has a sever allergy to shellfish, had a horrific reaction and was extremely ill all weekend because his French fries were fried in the same oil as the fried shrimp someone else ordered. Now, using only 1 fryer is just back kitchen practice! Not only that, but no where was it indicated that those with allergies should be aware! Finally...I called the restaurant, and was Immediately told by the manager that it wasn't their issue because we didn't say anything. I tried to be polite and ask him not to make this issue our fault...but he only got louder and louder...so I got louder and louder...until I was told to get the HELL out (I was on the phone) and never come back....because my son has an allergy. I called back immediately to ask for the owner, but he is elusive and no one knows when he is or isn't there, so I figured this was a good outlet. FINALLY! For an area with lots of middle eastern restaurants popping up, this is definitely one to try. It's clean. The food is good. Service is speedy. And the prices are reasonable. As you walk in, the place is simply decorated but new and modern. There's booths lining the window so you can people watch as they wander Downtown RO. The menu has all of the standards that you'd come to expect, except it has breakfast! I was there for lunch, so I didn't try it, but it seems like an interesting thing to try. I had the Chicken Kafta lunch with salad and grilled vegetables. The salad was light and fresh. Plenty of herbs in the dressing and not heavy on the dressing. Clearly they place an emphasis on having fresh vegetables since everything tastes crunchy and fresh. The chicken Kafta was great. Served on wooded skewers, the lunch had two in a serving. Both nicely cooked with a flavor and texture that is better than most. They also have fresh baked pitas, which should be a plus. I'm on a low carb diet so I didn't try any, but anyplace that invests in an oven I'm sure has focused on making good pita. I really expected more from this place, filling the shoes of the once Beruit palace. Alas, disappoint. The food is a step and a half below what beruit palace was, but the price is slightly higher. Ridiculous. You'd think if they thought they could install another Mediterranean cuisine restaurant less then a block from two others that are already well established they'd do it proper. Anticlimactic is probably the best word. No more outdoor hookah parties, no more exotic dishes. I had the stuffed grape leaves and the hummus. Mediocre at best. I have been ordering from Boukie's through GrubHub and love their pitas, shwarmas, and Lebanese salad. Tonight was the first time I went inside, since I was nearby for a meeting. I ordered the lamb kabob and was it AWESOME! I also enjoyed the rice pilaf, salad, and the little pita pockets that came before the meal with garlic sauce. I couldn't finish the two kabobs and ended up taking about half my meal home. The waitress offered to give me an iced tea to go at no extra charge, which was really nice and appreciated. Several people stopped by to ask how i liked the food, I don't know if it was the owner(s) or perhaps the cook, but I did appreciate the attention. The waitress was unobtrusive but kept an eye on me, so the one time I did need something she was right there. I cannot thank the sushi joint next door for being completely full, which made us walk into this wonderful place. I tried Raw Kibbeh for the first time (check out my pictures), and it was simply divine. Their hummous was smooth, fresh, and delightful. They fire up their bread in a stone oven on site, and it's perfection. I'm a huge fan of Mujadara, and theirs is the best I've ever had. New fave shawarma place! Everything we had tasted great. The appetizer bread was just baked and fresh and warm. It came with garlic to dip in. The lentil soup was the perfect consistency (I hate it when it's too watery or too thick). Chicken shawarma sandwich had the perfect amount of meat, garlic and pickle and the pita bread was grilled perfectly. The hummus that came with my lunch was also good. My family requests the garlic sauce everytime they come to our side of town. The Chicken Kafta is amazing, juicy and well flavored. Don't waste your time or money. I took my parents here over Memorial day weekend and we couldn't have a had a more rude waiter. We ordered a falafel platter that was pretty much liquid dough inside. When we showed it to the waiter, his response was simply "that's how we make it here" and rudely "what do you want me to do?" I think 9 waiters out of 10 would try to see if he could get us another batch or a different dish, not this guy. And instead of offering to remove it from our bill, he includes gratuity instead, knowing full well I wasn't going to leave him a tip. I argued for him to remove the platter but he once again wasn't having it. After paying him the bill minus the gratuity, he called the cops on me. I called his bluff and walked out of there.
