Amazing Food and Service ! Mainly Carry out only location in Birmingham Michigan. Looking for fast service come here,

    Chicken Shawarma sandwhich

Great tasting chicken shawarma sandwich. They use chicken breast too which is very tasty.

Small place inside. The outside isn't much to look at either. Two doors to enter. Set up to take orders by the north doors. Spicy gallaba with hummus, house salad with chicken shawarma meat and anti-cholesterol raw juice. The total was $32.30. The mat inside this place was super sticky for both of us. Even the patio table is sticky. What's up with all of this stickiness. There is no eating inside, there's only a counter inside anyways. The patio is available to eat, but it rained and is wet still. Luckily we have a golf bag towel. We were told to wait outside and they would bring our food out to us. They are busy with orders. It took our food about 25 minutes to come out to us. So much for the express part of their name. The woman there is super friendly, she even asked how our food was as we wrapped up our meal. The house salad was jam packed with chicken. The chicken was nicely seasoned and so much of it too. The spicy chicken gallaba was also a nice portion for my hubby. There was a lot of hummus as well. The anti-cholesterol juice was good, could definitely taste the ginger in it.

I used to frequent this establishment often when my office was nearby. Definitely one of the better Middle Eastern places for takeout you'll find in Oakland County. I recently returned when I was nearby and I'm happy to report that their food is just as good as it was a few years ago. My favorite is their lamb combo ( kofta, kibbee and grape leaves) I also really like their starter combo ( hommous,Baba Ghannouj & tabbouli). If your in the area, pick up something. You'll not be disappointed.

Elie's was the perfect place to grab a drink and some dinner after a travel day and to fuel for a big weekend ahead. We ordered some drinks (wine and martinis) and shared the Mixed Appetizer plate that had hummus, baba ghannouge, and tabouli and was served with a basket of warm mini pita bread. Our waitress was attentive and refilled the pita basket a couple of times and so was the water service. For entrees, I had the lebanese salad with salmon, and others at the table had the fattoush salad with chicken, baby back ribs, and chicken shawarma. It was a lot of food and we did not finish it all... and while it was very good, nothing stood out as something you can't find elsewhere either. No complaints however. I would definitely recommend Elie's if you're in the area and looking for a solid bar/restaurant with Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine. Elie's offers both indoor and outdoor seating and they also host private parties and offer catering. It is clearly a neighborhood favorite and has been around for decades.

Everything was just blah and the only thing that seemed…read moreremotely fresh was the chicken tenders (don't hate me because my daughter is five and that's what she wanted). This is what we got: Hummus - Nothing special, very small for $6.50 (and the turnip garnishes were mushy) Chicken Tenders "Appetizer" - Tenders were good, but maybe a total of 4 oz? Also, came with fries. $7.50 for teeny tenders was way too much. Shwarma (lamb) Sandwich - Dry and bland Fatoosh Tawook (but I got Shwarma chicken, instead of Tawook) - Lettuce was mushy and chicken tasted a couple of days old. Dressing was not tangy. The garlic spread they put on the table was unremarkable and the pita was strangely sweet. Service - what service? There were probably about eight other people in the restaurant. On a Saturday. At 6:00. Not much of a dinner rush. The waiter was prompt in taking our order but it took THIRTY-FIVE minutes to get our food. I know it was that long because we had a timer going to plug the meter. I'm not quite sure how it took 35 minutes to slice off some Shwarma, roll it in a sandwich (or top a pre-mixed Fatoosh) and deep-fry a chicken tender. There was a "cook" and a waiter, and an older woman sitting in the back checking her smart phone - and another guy doing dishes. Four people working in the restaurant and it took 35 minutes to get our mushy, room temperature food. We paid with a $30 Groupon (for $15) and we still overpaid. It's really too bad it's so hard to find good Middle Eastern food once you cross the border of Dearborn. The best we have found is La Saj, in Sterling Heights, but that's quite a hike for us, too.

We stopped by 2941 Street Food in Royal Oak and ordered a mini Honest Bowl since we were short on time. I went with basmati rice, zaatar steak, fresh cucumber, signature hummus, lemon vinaigrette, and sunflower seeds -- and it all came together beautifully. The steak was seasoned well, the hummus added creaminess, and the lemon vinaigrette brought a fresh brightness that tied everything together. Even as a mini bowl, it was filling. They also have their ingredients and allergy information posted in-store, which I really appreciate. It makes navigating gluten-free options easier. My bowl ingredients are generally gluten-free, but if you're highly sensitive or have celiac, it's always smart to double-check with staff about marinades or dressings. The space isn't dedicated gluten-free, but having the information visible is a big plus. The restaurant was clean, calm, and welcoming. Staff was polite, friendly, and professional -- which made the whole experience feel smooth and easy. I'd absolutely recommend it for a fresh, balanced, customizable lunch in Royal Oak.
