It started off a bit bad. The cashier seemed to be a bit rude. I was going to walk away because I thought he profiled me. I decided to give him another chance. A few times he said some words I had no idea what he was saying. So I asked him to repeat what he said. He became a bit irritated. That's understandable. We move past that and he explained Are Us answered my questions about the menu. The food was quite tasty. In fact, I told the person who drove me there today that I would probably go back there. In fact, it may be a place that go to often. The rice was really good. The great leaf, isn't my favorite Andre, but it was pretty good. The spinach and cheese pie was OK. I'm not fine of the bread. The fafela was seasoned. Tasted small salad and small soup that came along with the mail. I will come back upgrade the stars upon completing my dinner. read more

The food is decent. The dining area has plenty of seating. They give you fresh baked bread instead of pita bread. I placed an order online for food and a smoothie an hour before they closed and when I got there to pick my order up they told me they stop making drinks a hour before they close. They couldn't refund my money for the smoothie and told me to come back the next day to speak with management. I was so disappointed because I was really looking forward to my drink. read more

Thought we were going to La Marsa but this was La Marra. Dirty windows on the entrance and dinning area was dusty and not cleaned in awhile. Ordered combo for 2 and took more time just to get the water we ordered and finally the salad came and was great! the only thing. We ordered the other items dry beef, chicken and carrots and onions were dried up and burnt. The bread we all look forward to eat was terrible along with the so called garlic spread. I went on a Tuesday night, and the restaurant was not crowded. The ambiance was nice, though! The place was comfortable. There were sofa booths on the side, which were perfect seating for groups of 3-4 people. The staff was so kind and helpful, but I wish they would fill our water more often. The menu was pretty big, and they had various vegan- and vegetarian-friendly items. We shared fried kibbee and hummus for appetizers. The hummus came with a basket of small, fluffy bread. It's like pita pockets but smaller in size, fluffier, and not as thin. I don't know what these breads are called or if they're just a variation of pita, but these breads are the highlights of our dinner. Best bread ever. The Kibbee was delicious, too! Meaty, crispy, and moist on the inside. I order shawarma beef on Baba Ghanoush. My friends got the shrimp scampy with rice and vegetable ghallaba. Entrees came with either rice or fries and soup or salad. I went for the lentil soup, and I loved it. Usually lentil soup can be very dense, but theirs was not. I think there's some lemon juice that brightens up the soup. The portions were huge, and by the end of my meal, I was beyond stuffed. The shawarma meat was chewy, but it was tasty. The baba ghanoush was a bit too salty. My friends loved their food, but I didn't try theirs. The price was a bit expensive, but the food portion was large indeed. My boyfriend and I did Doordash from here tonight and everything was delicious. DD was also offering a $5 off $35 coupon. We ordered: -shish tawook sandwich: tasty but I didn't know there was lettuce (I'm not a fan of lettuce in sandwiches). -shish kafta sandwich: my boyfriend said this was great. -Sandwiches were $9.99 on DD which is a bit pricey, but technically they're a combo and then you choose a side, for an additional price - anything from rice (75c) to fries ($1) to mixed veggies ($1.99). I got the veggies and they were charred on the grill and delicious - onions, carrot, cauliflower. -My boyfriend got the baba ghanoush as his side, and for $1.99 you get a fairly large portion -Small fattoush salad, was decent. -Chicken lemon soup, for $3.99 as another side - very tasty, esp. since I haven't had it for a while. -Side of bread and garlic ($4.99) the bread reminded me of La Saj's (Troy) and was homemade. Garlic had a bit of a kick to it and we are wondering if they added jalapeños; it was good, though. You only get about a 4-oz. thing of garlic, FYI - for I think $8.99, you can get a 16-oz. container of garlic though. Overall everything was very tasty here and I liked everything we ordered. We will probably order again at some point or stop by the actual restaurant in Oak Park. read more

I never made it to the prior restaurant before it turned into this place. It's a good location, as it's on my way home every day from work. Staff is super friendly and warm. Chatted me up while I waited for my carry out order. I ordered the mango smoothie and a mint lemonade and had a pre-sample of which was refreshing and delicious. I also watched them cut and roll out the dough for the pita pocket. The chicken was wrapped separately, so as not to make the lettuce from getting wilted on the drive home. The pita pockets are small, a bit on the Dan side. There is no pocket as it's just a small round loaf. It still taste good and has a slight sweetness to it. The mint lemonade was my favorite part of the meal. Fatoosh tawook and the Caesar tawook was good too. The food all tasted and was fresh. Will be back again for more carry outs on the way home for sure My husband enjoyed his Caesar and really liked the taste of the mango, strawberry, banana smoothie. Went back with my husband and colleague last night. Service and food wasn't as good as my first visit. We ordered the combo platter, all of that was fine. Their fresh pita bread was warm and right out of the oven, but they are quite dense and doesn't have the pocket I have come to like in most middle eastern or Lebanese restaurants. Their pita is essentially a roll. The hummus, babaganouj and the their tabouli were all good. My colleague ordered a chicken Tawook sandwich and liked it well enough. I got a large fatoosh with salmon on it. The salmon had maybe a bit of salt and pepper on it, but it didn't taste fresh at all. It tasted off to both my husband and me. Good as always! I always get Sautéed Chicken with garlic and bread! The mint lemonade is good too

Some friends and I dined here as we were in the area and wanted some middle eastern food. The restaurant was empty and we were the only customers inside, so we were able to sit down immediately. However, the wait time to get a menu, drinks, food was excessive - as we were the only ones there. An employee was on the phone, having a personal conversation in Arabic calling us unpleasant/derogatory words in Arabic (not realizing we understood). However, with our group of 6, didn't want to say anything until the food was served. Food arrived a while later and was mediocre. The chicken tikka (chunks of marinated chicken breast) was bland. The beef was overly chewy and not soft or tender. The fattoush salad was lettuce and a few pieces of fried bread with barely any dressing but had no flavor. So overall the food was flavorless and nothing was authentic about it. Next, when the bills came - I made sure to let our waiter know we were middle eastern, to which he was shocked. I made a comment that it was inappropriate to call young women out of their name and he had nothing to say. He gave us our checks, and I left a cash tip despite everything and placed it on the table. I used a card to pay and put a ZERO with a line through it in the place of the tip area. However, when it posted to my bank account - the waiter somehow left himself an additional $4 fraudulent tip on my card - even though I put a 0 in the tip place. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone honestly. From the service to the food, the experience was all around poor. read more

I come here often and love the food ! I spend my last dollar here because it's just that good . Today I got what I usually get but the dressing was oily, the soup tasted stale and the spoon had food on it. I told the waiter I was told that's just how it is . Mind you I asked for lemonade smoothie never got it . I had to ask for silverware, ask multiple times for lemons, and when I spoke to the manager he walked away in the middle of the conversation and didn't care to hear what me or my fiancé had to say. I've been looking for a new Arabic restaurant in the Royal Oak area and I think I've found my new spot! I ordered take out from here a few days ago and really enjoyed everything I got. We tried the chicken shawarma, falafel, lentil soup, hummus, and baba ghanoush. Everything was fresh and tasted authentic. The prices were very fair and they offered great portions. Ideal for dining family-style with a bigger group! Service was great as well! I can't speak much about the dining-in experience but I hope to be back soon! read more

When La Marra is good, it's great. We've had their fresh, warm, large pieces of soft pita right from the oven, but we've also had small pieces of hard pita that haven't been fresh. The cauliflower is a must. So delicious! We like the shish tawook as well. I appreciate that the side of grilled veggies is actually grilled and there is a variety: carrot, green pepper, onion, and mushrooms. The lentil soup is lemony and flavorful. The garlic sauce is super garlicky and delicious. Plan on breathing fire for days and it's worth it. Definitely a place we'll return to. Just hope they get more consistent with everything so they can be five stars! read more

I ordered via Grub Hub. The wrong order was given to the driver, and I called La Marra to fix it. They said they would remake the order and I would pick it up myself in 25 minutes. When I got there, it wasn't made and the cook had no idea it needed to be remade. So I had to wait another 25 minutes. While I was waiting, the cook and the guy working the phones starting screaming at each other in Arabic and every now and then I would hear my name. They were obviously talking about my order. It was extremely uncomfortable. More importantly, they were wearing their masks incorrectly (barely covering mouth and not covering nose at all) and were not wearing gloves. It's hard to find places like this. The owner is generous and kind and the food is excellent. They hosted our after wedding brunch and while dealing with my chaotic family they were highly communicative and accommodating. I had the cilantro chicken 3/9/24 with an order of bread and garlic sauce . The bread was very hard and burnt the garlic sauce was not good . I'm not sure if they just did a new batch or what have you, but it did not taste like the regular garlic sauce, I clearly ordered a cilantro chicken it's $25 order and I've always been happy with it. I asked them at the front counter no pinenuts on top of the order and they put them on there, the bread burnt and hard and the cilantro chicken was not made to par and when I called them they hung up on me four times before I actually got a person and he told me to complain to DoorDash when it was not a DoorDash order. I usually do order it through DoorDash and I'm so upset that I did not. I went in person to order it and this is the service I get so I will not be going back. We visited this restaurant tonight because the other restaurant La Pita right down the street was only doing carry out. We were the only ones in the restaurant but there were a lot of carryout orders. Everyone liked their food. The server/owner was very nice and he served us well. The portions were large and the food tasted good. The bread was fresh from the oven. Our salads were large and flavorful. The garlic sau e was very good as well as our entrees. We will be back again. Just left the store about 15 min ago on 12-11-21 at 4:15pm. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich and lentil soup. I added extra bread and a side of garlic sauce. Total on bill was around 12.00. Bathrooms had a closed sign up so I had to walk to rite aid to use after my order was ready. I got to my vehicle opened my food and sampled the soup first. This was the first time in a long while since I have been here. Crushed lentil soup was very lemony. I didn't like the flavor and was not used to crushed lentil soup being so high yellow. I tried the bread and garlic sauce. Not to much flavor in the garlic sauce and the bread was small pieces I tried the sandwich soon after and found it to be cold, dry, and very bland. I didn't like this meal after two bites of the sandwich and 2 sips of soup. What a waste of 12.00. I know they are tight for staff right now but how can you serve a sandwich with cold meat and it has grill marks and make we wait like 10-15 min for it?? read more
