Made an appointment with this company over a week ago (who want payment on the phone) and they were to show up today. Got a call at 9:07 saying a tech would be here in an hour and a half. Now I've called after 11 am and they are saying a tech will be here at 11:50. if they do not show up at 11:50, I will cancel the service and ask for a refund. AVOID BOSS OPTIMA CLEANING!! They came to clean my drapes on 4/20. When I originally booked, they wanted me to pay in full before the service, but I refused and said as they were going to be in my home, they could get payment when they were here (First red flag. If you look up on BBB, there are several complaints about how they took payment upfront but don't come or perform any service and refused to refund). Well, as luck (or bad luck) would have it, they did come as scheduled! Two men showed up without any ID, company logo etc. and did not give me their names. But when asked they did say they were contracted to clean for Boss. I let them in. Their method is to steam drapes on rods the way you would steam upholstery. Our drapes had been knotted to lift off the floors during our home renovation, and they were very creased. I asked the one man if he thought the steaming would get out the creases. He told me to not ask him any questions and leave them alone to work, that I could ask him things when he was done with the job. (Second red flag). About 15 minutes later, I went to look at the drapes they'd finished in one room. Thankfully I did because they'd shrunk my drapes. The lining was longer than the drape by a few inches and the drapes had shrunk about four inches. I asked them to come see and if that was supposed to happen. The same technician (I later learned he is named Ronnie) became increasingly hostile, and he told the other guy to pack up, that they were leaving. Good riddance! I called Boss Optima and was told to text photos, which I did. The customer service representative texted that looked bad and the president, Mike Ochoa, would be contacting me. Within the hour. That was seven days ago. I texted and called a few times since, but they are ignoring me. At least I didn't pay them the almost $600 upfront, but I have shrunk drapes . I am reporting to BBB. There are also comments on BBB from contractors who say they don't get paid for work done. Absolutely horrible service! The customer service was fantastic at first and the fact that they told me they guaranteed there service I was optimistic. I spoke with Cathy who gave me my quote and I explained the needs in each of the rooms that I was getting service. I explained the high traffic areas and the fact that there had been urine on the carpet in the babies room, they assured me it would be taken care of (didn't say there was an additional charge). I had 4 bedrooms, the stairs going into the basement and the entire basement done which I paid like $440.00 for. When the carpet cleaner arrived they were very kind we walked through the house I explained the high traffic areas and the babies room and the urine smell we had in the past. He told me they would take care of it and got to work, they finished in well under an hour and my carpets were absolutely drenched. The worst part is they don't look any better then they did and my sons room now wreaks of urine, I have to leave the window open with the door closed and we cant even go in there. I spoke with them Monday, Tuesday they called back saying I would have to pay for them to come back and pay for a neutralizer, WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said I am the consumer, I spoke with Cathy and the Tec about this problem and they the professionals told me they would take special care of those areas. She told me she would talk to Cathy and get back to me, now its Friday and I had to call back. I didn't know much about the company then, but sure wish I would've. to begin, the price they agreed to pay me was quite low. but whatever. next, I bet I've called them at least 15 times to get paid. every time it's the same old story...."our billing dept will get in touch with you". Ya right, that's never happened. I've been calling them for 8 months now. they just lie and say they'll call you back. if you're a cleaner, never take jobs from them unless they pay you first. if you're a customer, call a local cleaner. this company here isn't a cleaning company, they're a referral company. they'll take your number then fall cleaners in your area to find one to clean for you, but will charge you double. boss Optima is just a lousy middle man. Not a professional company at all, it was just 2 teenage/young pot smoking adults who bought a basic carpet cleaner that you can get off the shelf at Walmart. The same goes for the products that were used. I admit the carpets are old and I knew that it would only be some improvement. But what I didn't expect was that it wasn't a professional carpet cleaning van with professional equipment and products. They left their trash and didn't clean up the water on the floors from the job. And to top it all off there must be inches of water left in the carpets, the dirty water runs up between my toes and splashes on my legs. My husband has a broken foot which is why I hired the company to do this job and now he's in the rooms using his shop vac to vacuum up the water. Do NOT, I repeat , DO NOT use this company !!!!! They over charged my credit card from the quote given by Mike over the phone long before my services were even due to commence. ( I was told by Mike my credit card would not be charged yet.) When I called to complain, I got the run around. Mike, who is apparently the manager was in a perpetual " meeting". I was originally told he would call me back after said meeting but never did. I called first thing the next morning and was told " Nobody is here for you to speak to". I have never left a review before, but I don't want anyone else to go through the same experience I did. I had an appointment scheduled for last Wednesday 6/12 The sales rep was so nice and helpful. I had full confidence that the bad reviews I read on here were from difficult people. My appointment was 4-6pm. They call to let me know they are running late, no problem. They say they'll be there by 7pm. No problem. 9:30pm rolls around, with no updates and they finally say they can't come by, but I'll be the first appointment at 9am the next day. That's fine. Next day, no calls or updates. I call the company and leave a voicemail numerous times. Nothing. It has been a WEEK and no one has called me back about anything. They made an appointment with me to come on a Wednesday morning, called and said they were having trouble with a water issue in Greenwich, CT and would come tomorrow. I agreed. They called later and said they made a mistake and couldn't come then, cancelled again, said they would come Friday morning. The person doing the cleaning told me what he was doing and then when he was finished had me look at it. Using this company was a horrible experience. We hired this company to clean, moth-proof, and wrap two custom carpets that were going into storage for seven months. After we opened them, we saw that the color and textures of both had changed so much that we could not use them. (The white on one of the carpets was a yellowish color.) When we called the company, we were told that carpets were not supposed to be stored in this manner for any length of time. Why weren't we told that initially since the company knew our plans? Not only did we pay for the moth-proofing, cleaning, and wrapping, and the storage and moving of these two rugs, but we now have to replace both. I had Joseph clean one large carpeted room and pointed out a few dog stains I'd already tried to remove before he got started. He showed me the difference when he was halfway through, which was terrific. He was also able to eliminate the stains. Quick and efficient.
