The pizza was so good and the bartenders was amazing. Would absolutely go back. The Cesar salad dressing was on point too!

My wife and I are doing a pizza survey this summer just for fun. We decided to try a new pizza…read moreplace every couple of weeks to see which ones were worth all the fuss. Il Supremo stands as tall as the rest and maybe the best although we have not finished our survey. This location has a lot of fond memories for me. When I first moved to Old Metairie in the 1980s, I often dined at Delerno's which served amazing food at this location for over 40 years. It was an old style neighborhood Creole Italian and Seafood restaurant, examples of which can still be found throughout the metro area although the numbers are declining. The owner reportedly was one of the first New Orleans restaurant owners to include crawfish on his menu including a Festival of Crawfish featuring what we would essentially call a crawfish platter, crawfish prepared different ways. You have to love a guy like that. I was so sad when it closed. Anyway, back to the pizza. Il Supremo makes pizza as delicious as any pizza I've had in New York or San Francisco. The crust is thin and crunchy with what appears to be a cornmeal dusting. The crust is baked to perfection, brown and crispy with a few, but not too many, burned areas- just the way I like it. The cheese is excellent as is the sauce which has a bit of a kick but not too much to be overpowering. And the amount of sauce is perfect, not too much for those who like it stingy, and enough for the red gravy lovers of the New Orleans. We ordered the Wooster which was pepperoni, roasted garlic, shallots, and basil. It was outstanding. The garlic and shallots were a perfect complement to the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. The basil frankly looked great but was not very evident, if at all, in the overall flavor profile. Perhaps it would be were it added after baking. The space itself is decent with only a few tables but crowded and noisy even at 5:30 on a Friday afternoon. It shares space with Super Witch ice cream, so if you want dessert, you don't have to go far. I will definitely be back for more pizza from Il Supremo. NB The website is a little heavy handed and full of rules and caveats including that pickup orders have to be ordered 24 hours in advance. I ordered the morning of my pickup and had no problem. I have no idea why you would have to order 24 hours in advance. Regardless, that is the rule. I guess you could call and ask if you're too late to order but, of course, they have no phone. Such is life in the new millenium. If you called Delerno's, Mrs. Delerno would answer.

They completely forgot our pasta, leaving us waiting 30 minutes while our pizza sat in the heating drawer--and they never called us up when it was ready. Being from Chicago, we've been pleasantly surprised by the decent pizza and pasta scene around Metairie and New Orleans, but will most likely not come back. Edit for date we visited was Sunday 7/5 around 6-6:30 pm

The service was immaculate and the food was just as good as if I were at a full table spending big. Carla, my bartender, was fabulous. Attentive, warm, and on point the entire time. Small details matter, and they get it. The restrooms were spotless and even had complimentary mouthwash with cups. That level of care is what creates repeat customers and makes me want to tell other people about this place. I will absolutely be back.

Even though we had two waiters, it took forever to get water. Two if us asked for ice and only one of us received it. Two asked for bottled water and still received tap. Upon finally receiving the bottled water, their glasses kept getting refilled with tap. One drinks were finally on the table, it took a good hour to place the order once we sat down. Then, another hour to get the food. The wait staff was nice but it did seem like they were extremely forgetful at times. I ordered the Oysters, Meatballs, and a side of the pasta with truffle cream. The oysters were a 10/10 and so were the meatballs. The pasta and truffle cream was extremely bland. That mak was s me afraid to order from the pasta cart. Then, the Gelato had huge chunks of salt on it which made it inedible for me. The menu didn't denote that there was salt. Otherwise, I would have requested it not be added. Perhaps this is standard but I've never had Gelato with salt. They should have put that salt on the pasta!! The whole experience lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes. Way too long. I may return after a while. I'm not sure.

I ordered the 12" pepperoni & ham pizza. While waiting, had a chance to talk to the owner. Very down to earth and family oriented gentleman. I used the bathroom and it was maintained and clean. The place is large enough to accommodate very large parties. The prices are decent and do not offer military discount. The pizza had a very tasteful taste sauce and small pepperonis. It was very delicious and tasty. The only recommendation that I have is there was a lot of empty space between the crust's edge and where they spread the sauce and pepperoni. I suggest to expand the tomatoes sauce to about half an inch to the crust so that every bite, will have their delicious sauce! Other than that, looking forward to my next visit to see my dad so that I can come here again and have their pizzas!

Love the texture of the crust, the sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes & of course their awesome brick oven. Fun Fact: The restaurant name, "El Fornino" means "little oven" in Italian. Another standout was our server, Jess. Talk about personality! She is so friendly and made us feel so welcome. She told us about their special "birria pizza" which isn't listed on the menu but sounds amazing. We will definitely be back to try that. Oh and I almost forgot... we split the homemade tiramisu for dessert. So yummy! Have any of you all been to El Fornino? This was our first time but definitely won't be our last. PS. You cut your own pizza with the scissors provided!

The restaurant is decorated very nice, some modern touches but gives warehouse vibes with a cute grass wall for photos. The menu has a variety of pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, pastas and wines. I didn't realize what was getting myself into when I ordered the loaded fries as an appetizer the food does take time but it is extremely worth it! The fries came out fresh and hot with a bunch of bacon jalapeños and cheese. The owner was so kind he sent us mozzarella sticks and marinara on the house. For our entrees we ordered a large pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza, veggie pizza and chicken Alfredo pasta. Each pizza was so delicious, the sauce was clearly made fresh, the dough was fluffy but crispy it was a great combination. The chicken Alfredo pasta sauce was made fresh along with the pasta sauce. Nothing tasted as if it came from a jar everything was made fresh to order. We all left so full and happy after dinner. Our servers Aubrey and Haley were amazing and gave great recommendations and honest opinions about the menu. I'm excited to try new things on my next trip.
