This was my second time here. The first time was years ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see a few new things on the menu. Unfortunately, the service was less than stellar. Even though we had two waiters, it took forever to get water. Two if us asked for ice and only one of us received it. Two asked for bottled water and still received tap. Upon finally receiving the bottled water, their glasses kept getting refilled with tap. One drinks were finally on the table, it took a good hour to place the order once we sat down. Then, another hour to get the food. The wait staff was nice but it did seem like they were extremely forgetful at times. I ordered the Oysters, Meatballs, and a side of the pasta with truffle cream. The oysters were a 10/10 and so were the meatballs. The pasta and truffle cream was extremely bland. That mak was s me afraid to order from the pasta cart. Then, the Gelato had huge chunks of salt on it which made it inedible for me. The menu didn't denote that there was salt. Otherwise, I would have requested it not be added. Perhaps this is standard but I've never had Gelato with salt. They should have put that salt on the pasta!! The whole experience lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes. Way too long. I booked my birthday dinner at Tana, and what should have been a celebration turned into an incredibly frustrating evening. We waited 2 1/2 hours for our food, only to have several entrées arrive lukewarm. The explanation? There were "a couple of large parties." I paid a $375 deposit for my own large party, so the restaurant knew in advance how many guests to expect. Planning adequate staffing and service should not have been a surprise. The wait was so bad that I asked for my birthday cake to be brought out before dinner just so my guests could have something to eat. Imagine inviting people to celebrate your birthday and having to serve cake because the restaurant still hasn't served their meals. To make matters worse, I received my food last, and the waitress forgot to put in my side order. After all that waiting, our food wasn't even hot. Our bill was over $1,000. At that price, timely service, complete orders, and hot food are basic expectations. Tana failed on all three. A birthday dinner is an occasion you cannot redo. I left disappointed and embarrassed that my guests had spent their evening waiting and hungry. The service was immaculate and the food was just as good as if I were at a full table spending big. Carla, my bartender, was fabulous. Attentive, warm, and on point the entire time. Sadly I have not been impressed with Tana the last two times we went. They took away the bar so anyone wanting that vibe, it's gone.. We tried the prefix menu. My salad was so tiny and drowning in dressing. Both entrees were great but there was a lot of confusion on the dessert selection that should've been included. Since they have 3 to 4 servers working every table there's a lack of communication on who said what so no one explains to you what's included and what is not. I'm not opposed to paying more for something not included, but I would just like to be told up front. The portion of gelato was also tiny and drowning in coffee. It was soup. Amazing meal from start to finish! We gathered in the bar for cocktails before our meal. The ambiance and decor was stunning. We had a group of 8 and started with tuna tartare, made with Calabrian chili, white balsamic and a basil aioli. Thin fried calamari, beef carpaccio and barbecue shrimp with burrata toast were the other appetizers. Each was delicious. Pastas were a highlight and included squid ink Tagliatelle with crab, hot sausage, tomatoes and basil. We also enjoyed a four cheese ravioli with truffle cream and radiatore cacio e pepe siciliano with caciocavallo cheese and anchovy butter. These were savory and some of the best I've had. Great deals on petite pizzas and apps for Happy Hour. The Spritzes on HH are an excellent deal. Our bartender was knowledgeable and on point. I didn't love the red on HH so I tried a second spritz and it was better than the first. The eggplant tapenade was delicious and the pizza was very good (sugar-sweet drizzle if you're a hummingbird). I had a fabulous birthday dinner at Tana! My husband made the reservation and I had no idea what to expect, so I was a blank page. Everything was SO delicious! We started with some cocktails (the peach Bellini for me and the Tana old fashioned for hubby) and the appetizer meatballs. The meatballs came with crusty grilled focaccia bread and were just perfect. Next we had the cheese wheel pasta to share and the veal Marsala. The pasta was the best cheese wheel pasta I've had. Fresh pasta swirled in a wheel of incredible grana padano cheese. So good!! The veal Marsala was rich and earthy, with a clear taste of the Marsala. Really, really good. The service was friendly and polite and they did a great job making sure we had a special evening. Ambiance is modern and bright while being comfortable and feeling special. Note: They can only do the cheese wheel pasta table side if you are seated in the front room. If you are seated in the back room and want to see it done, you have to walk to where the cheese wheel is. It's not a big deal and the chef on the cheese wheel gives a nice play-by-play of the process. However, if you do want it table side, be sure to ask for a table in the front room. read more

Oh my, Tana is such an aesthetically pleasing place. The colors and atmosphere when you first walk in are just beautiful. We were a party of three on a Sunday afternoon. We had reservations, but it wasn't crowded. We were seated and greeted by the servers (they worked in a pair), and we ordered drinks. I had the Paper Plane cocktail. Not too sweet but very tasty. I had the Braised Meatballs for my appetizer and the Gulf Shrimp Paccheri since I was in the mood for pasta. Both were very nice, but the Paccheri was amazing!! Jumbo shrimp, creamy and flavorful sauce, and the added shredded cheese on top was perfection! For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu. We ordered a bunch of different dishes to try out which most were very good and nicely plated. Our service lacked a bit after we got some dishes which we barely saw our waiter for refills and to question about something we were missing. Hence the 4star. We ordered the pasta cart, but did not receive it until we were done with all our other plates, but only because we told the waiter we ordered it. So we continued to go through with the pasta cart to get the experience. It was a nice presentation. However, the pasta just tasted like it just came out of boiling water and was not creamy.
