Lived inGlenoaks Canyon for 23 years. On the Glen Oaks Canyon FB page were whispers of an amazing mechanic right over in Chevy Chase. As the years/decades passed this mystic mechanics name kept popping up. Canyonites spoke his praise. Well, finally, this last Saturday, our eldests vehicle decided it wasn't going to start. I called AAA which got it started but wouldn't hold a charge. Called AAA again for a jump but again, didn't hold a charge. Finally onMonday I called AAA and once it started drive it directly to Boris'. Literally found a spot. parked it and left befor they opened...but old school they had a key drop. he was busy but took care of diagnosing then fixing the vehicle. This is auto mechanic care I haven't seen since 1968. What professionalism and true time spent on the one place we spend hours of our day and do not want them to die on us. Boris is a true find that was staring us in the face forever but sadly did not take advantage of....not any more I will say if you have a foreign or domestic vehicle do NOT pass this shop up. Vehicle runs smooth and holey moley they the engine compartment looked brand new. if you live in or around Glendale, put Boris in your contacts. you won't regret it. read more

Boris saves the day. He worked like a surgeon on my car and healed it! Not only is he an excellent mechanic but he is trustworthy and a nice man. Support small business owners in our neighborhood. You will never be disappointed. Thank you again, to Boris. read more

After a dealer gave me a high quote I brought my car to Boris for a second opinion and learned the main issue the dealer identified was not a real problem just yet. I have been coming to Boris for two years and plan to in the future. Fast service and reasonable prices. read more

We love Boris Auto Repair! They just serviced my 2013 Lexus and gave me a more than fair price for fixing my breaks and a tune-up. It had been years since my last tune up and there was a lot that needed to be done. If I'd gone to the dealership I would have paid more than double. Boris Auto has given me confidence that my car will continue to run another 13 years! I will never take my car to the dealership again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this shop! I've taken our car to a few different shops, even some are people we know personally, and don't get the professionalism, courtesy, knowledge, and experience as the mechanics here. At this point, I don't plan on taking my cars anywhere else when it comes to repairs or even oil changes. If you are looking for an honest place that knows what they're doing, this is your spot! You literally have to look no further. I normally don't write reviews on mechanic shops, but I know how difficult it is to find a very good mechanic so I want to make sure I put this out there. read more

This is a great neighborhood family run auto shop! My converter got stolen. Boris was able to help me source a new converter, and install a guard for me very quickly. This guy is the most humble and honest mechanic I've ever been too. Took my Acura TLX for a check up and he took the time to explain exactly what I needed done with the car since it was running smoothly without trying to upsell me on anything. It was done efficiently, quick, and fair prices! It's really hard to find a mechanic you trust and get along with but Boris is amazing! I'll definitely bring all my cars to him and recommend you guys do the same! read more

Boris always goes above and beyond. It's great having him in the neighborhood and knowing that he is fair and honest. I've needed him over the years and have never been disappointed. He's personable and patient - highly recommend. read more

Boris has been my mechanic for over 10 years. I bought a car in December of 2024. The car lot ripped me off. I took it to Boris to look it over. He informed me about the issues the car had. Went with me to the dealership, stood up for me, made them correct their negligence. FREE OF CHARGE. I was in an accident and totaled said car in July of this year. I gave Boris a call to see if he had any leads on a car for sale. Coincidentally, he was selling one at that moment. I purchased it from him right away, since I know I can trust him. It runs like a dream and feels brand new. Do yourself a favor and take your car to this man for anything you need. Highly recommend. read more

My new car maintenance window expired after 24 months, so I was looking for a local independent mechanic to take my car to. Boris performed a complete 30K maintenance service that including changing oil, air, and cabin filters as well as checking and replacing all the necessary oil, coolant, brake, and washer fluids. He lubed all hinges (door, hood, etc), checked my brakes and tires, and cleaned up the engine. Boris explained all of the work, and noted some areas that I should keep an eye on in the future. This attention to detail and service, and the reasonable cost are valuable to me. I feel lucky to have found someone in my area who really is cares about his work and about his customers' cars. read more

I wish I could give Boris at least 10 stars. He's an outstanding, expert mechanic who patiently explains each repair, and his fees are very reasonably priced. Boris is great. A rare mechanic who really cares about his craft and your vehicle. He takes the time to explain the issues as well as how he intends to solve them. He always spends extra time testing the car after he believes he's fixed it to be sure before returning the car to you. Great value for the money, especially when it can be hard to trust mechanics. Can't recommend Boris highly enough. read more

Boris is great. He's always homest with me, gives me good information on the best way to resolve issues with my vehicles and makes timely repairs. I"ve not had any issues with any repairs he's done. And he's just around the corner from my house, so very convenient. Give him a try! read more

Boris is the most thorough and conscientious mechanic I have known. I took my 11 year old Rav4 in for 60,000 mile service upon the recommendation of a friend and the work that he did was outstanding and meticulously documented with pictures. Every potential issue on the car was checked and serviced and at the end I had not seen the engine so clean and shiny since I bought the car 11 years ago. A similar service would have easily cost 3 times as much at the dealer with most likely not the same thoroughness. I don't think I would ever consider servicing my cars anywhere else. read more

Great service and good price. Boris is an excellent mechanic , very knowledgeable and punctual with his job.I fully recommend it.

My whole family (parents, siblings, etc) have been long time customers of Boris because he is honest, hard working, reputable and reasonable for the price. Boris is an honest man who does great work. He's confident in his abilities and is priced fairly. He replaced the water pump in my Porsche Macan and it wasn't cheap but I knew he would do it right using only Porsche parts. He has given me a thorough list of things I will need done in the future. He changed the oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid and flushed the coolant fluid, all in 2 days. I will only take my vehicle to him in the future . read more

Boris was the worst mechanic I've ever had. He claims to be honest, but he's the complete opposite. He'll "fix" something and then break something else so you have to come back. I don't understand how people can have a business model like that and stay in business. read more

Great experience from start to finish. Boris and his team provided exceptional customer service, and Boris took the time to thoroughly explain the problem I really appreciated the honesty and clarity. What impressed me most was how quickly they diagnosed and repaired the problem. I had a persistent brake issue that another mechanic couldn't figure out, but Boris solved quickly. The repair was completed ahead of schedule, and the pricing was very fair. Boris even broke down the cost of parts and labor, so there were no surprises when I received the bill. I'll definitely be returning for any future repairs. Highly recommend Boris and his team. read more

Several years ago, I became unhappy with my former auto mechanic, so I asked around among my neighbors for a new recommendation. Numerous people suggested Boris. I went to Boris the other day for the first time, on the recommendation of a neighbor. This place seems like it's one of those well-kept local secrets. My old beater Corolla needed some serious help after a lot of neglect, and Boris and Gagik took great care of it. You never know what you're going to get when you go to a mechanic for the first time, but these guys obviously take great pride in their work. The prices are very reasonable and more importantly, Boris went over all the items with me and was happy to answer all my questions. He was able to advise me on options for what to do next to keep my vehicle going into the future. With car prices still out of control, I'm thinking about hanging on to my family's used cars longer than I otherwise might have, so having a trustworthy mechanic around is going to be essential! read more
