Amazing shop. Repaired my Mercedes and brought it back to life. Dealer wanted $6000 for turbo repairs and this shop did the work for a fraction of that price. My car is finally running like new. I respect their honesty and quick repair process. Highly recommend! read more

Kind of mixed feelings on this place, maybe Hamlet was just having a bad day. I've never felt price gouged until today. I walked in for an oil change and was quoted 200 however servicing at Bmw themselves is 180 when I questioned Hamlet why it was more expensive here he said Bmw must use an inferior quality oil. This seems shady. Honestly, I feel weird writing bad reviews, but the way he shrugged me off so rudely I think others should be made aware of. read more

What an absolute experience, working with Ashot and his father was the most painless and easiest people to work with. They had the team rip the car apart and change everything that was broken to brand new OEM, not to mention they did a full manual swap from a 5spd ZCP to a 6spd manual. The turn around was amazing and the price was even better. Thank you to the crew over there truly recommend any bmw owners to service there car over here. read more

SCAMMING ASS FRAUDS. brought my car to do a quick oil change and then tries to charge me triple the original quoted price of $70 and then proceeds to tell me i need a new catalytic converter and tries to charge me every money for adjusting my wheel locks! I am somebody who has previously worked for a BMW dealership and I'm on my fifth BMW so I've had my fair share of interaction with specialty mechanics throughout the years. This is my first interaction with what I would consider a great BMW mechanic who did not leave me wanting to take a second mortgage out on my home. I have to say that I am extremely impressed that Hamlet's BMW was able to accommodate me in my emergency situation as well as get me back on the road in the same day. Their initial diagnostic was only $60 and their prices were what I would even say below reasonable. Thank you so much for your outstanding service. I definitely recommend you to anybody in need of a quality fair and honest Mechanic. read more

Such great people - Hamlet's son helped me. My Subaru bumper got broken as I was backing up and hit a pole. I was sad as I thought it would be an expensive repair. I live near Hamlet's so I drove in and asked if they could repair it. They could have insisted I needed a new bumper, etc., but instead, with a bit of a struggle, they popped the bumper back in and would not take any money. I will be going back....! read more

Hamlets BMW was fantastic. They diagnosed and fixed an oil leak, and figured out the cause of a coolant leak other shops misdiagnosed. Their customer service was friendly and honest, the pricing was good, and the quality of work was top notch. Where do I begin? I have been here three times in the past year which seems par for the course when you own an older BMW. Each and every time I go, I'm treated with top notch service. My car issues are explained to me in non-car person in terms, so I understand. The shop acts fast and gets me back on road quickly. I will not take my car to anyone else as he (Hamlet) has won of my business. Highly recommend!!! Thank you Hamlet and crew... read more

I don't trust my cars to just anybody so when I first needed to repair my M3 I took it to this place on Glendale Ave with good reviews. TERRIBLE, totally mis-diagnosed a simple thing like a front wheel bearing! Then I found Hamlet's and been taking it there ever since. They know what they are doing and always get back to me right away with pictures of what needs to be done and suggestions of what the car may need in additional repairs. During my recent visit they discovered that my fan clutch needed replacement while it was out of the car for the other repairs. I get the car back and it is like driving a new car. It had always been very noisy at speed since I have had it but is totally quiet now - that fan clutch really needed replacement. They also had the car detailed so it now also looks amazing. Hamlet's is my go to place! :) read more

WARNING: DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! The owner HAMLET SAHAKYAN takes advantage of clueless, desperate and time-crunched men and women. He (1) does not give you a written estimate up front, (2) does not provide receipts for price of purchased parts, and (3) ends up costing you much more than respectable establishments because he overcharges for low quality assessment/work, which ends up costing you much more in the long run. Btw, this was not my first experience. I have dared to come out of convenience for small jobs even though I can repair cars myself, BUT my recent experiences have been OBSCENELY EXPENSIVE compared to other shops. I decided to read the Yelp reviews (which I never do) and could not agree more with the 1-star reviews. The 1-star reviews are very accurate. YOU ARE WELCOME; THIS WAS YOUR WARNING; GO SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE BUT HERE, FOR A PROFESSIONALLY REPUTABLE BMW REPAIR CENTER. read more

Almost speechless. My friend has been getting his car fixed here for years with excellent results. I have always gone to the dealership. Imagine my surprise when the dealership quoted $5600 for reattaching a door panel they removed and attached incorrectly - Hamlet fixed it in an hour for $300. Clean shop, excellent and efficient service at prices that make sense. I'm a fan. read more

Hamlet Is Excellent. He knows twice as much as the guys who work in the service department of the DMW dealers and he charges half as much. He's worked on three different BMWs I've owned over the years and I've had a really good experience every time. Recently the engine died in my X5 and only had 72,000 miles on it! The dealer wanted $25,000 plus labor to put in a recondition engine. Hamlet did everything for $13,000 and now the car runs great. He's extremely knowledgeable, I trust him, and I expect to be a long-term customer. read more

20 year customer should say it all. Wry happy with the service and care Hamlet and his team provide.

I'm writing this as a female BMW owner with an above average understanding about cars. I've had terrible experiences with mechanics in the past. Hamlet is a breath of fresh air. He has great knowledge and expertise. He will diagnose your car accurately and often on the spot. His team does repairs quickly with perfect results. Amazingly, his prices are also fair. I'm so grateful to have found Hamlet because I am no longer stressed about getting my car repaired when needed. He's the best! read more

Great service and they use Genuine BMW parts.. Hard to find outside of actually BMW dealerships..

Great, quick service. Fair inspection and prices. Brought our 335i in because Valvoline couldn't do all the services. Took my BMW for service because there was smoke coming out of the engine block. Not something I expected from a car that's well-maintained and has fairly low miles. The guys at the shop wasted no time in correctly diagnosing the issue, ordering genuine parts and replacing the faulty break vacuum pump within a short period of time. Had I taken the car to the BMW dealer, they would have charged me 3x the amount, knowing that the part is not covered under the limited warranty. Really happy with the outcome and appreciate the straightforward communication and timely service. read more

Hamlet is such an expert when it comes to BMWs. I've taken all my cars there ranging from 3 series to 6 series. I've tried many mechanics that have worked on my cars but someone specializing in the car make itself makes a big impact on how they trouble shoot problems. read more

STAY FAR AWAY!!! This is just another ripoff joint sullying the reputation of their people. Not only did they make up a b.s. list of repairs, but they also charged an equally b.s. amount of money. I had to bring in the Bureau of Automotive Repair to help get my money back. read more

Most unprofessional man I've met. I Went to get an estimate for some roof dents. Hamlet went to the back to get a number because they couldn't help me, but there was miss communication because he was on the phone while helping me. So my wife said he was probably busy because some time has passed. As I am backing out the drive way, Hamlet is YELLING at me ," ARE YOU SERIOUS... ARE YOU SERIOUS ... IM DOING THIS FOR YOU AND YOU ABOUT TO LEAVE?" Verbatim. My wife and I were shocked. Then Hamlet says it a couple more times. I get out the car to confront hamlet as to why on earth is he talking to me like that in front of my family... As soon as I confront him, his whole demeanor and tone changed. He just gives me the number he was looking for and tells me leave. He spoke to me like he was my boss and I was late to work. He told me I wasted his time. No one should ever talk to a customer like that. Especially if the customer was literally in his car doing nothing. Then The owner comes up aggressively yelling? Never have I been spoken to like that in front of family from someone I was trying to do buisness with. Unprofessional, disrespectful, rude. As to anyone who is sensitive to being disrespected in front of family, I can promise you the way he acted stuck with me. read more

Have driven by Hamlet's BMW shop many times driving off the freeway but have never needed a reason to stop. But recently, my door lock actuator went out so I did what every responsible owner does...went to Google! Lol After reading some BMW forums I freaked out because of how much they said it would cost to fix. But when I got to Hamlet's, he quickly looked up my car info and came back with the parts and labor and it was probably 30-40% LESS than what the dealer would've charged me! AND he had it fixed and ready to go within two hours with no appointment!! Thanks Hamlet! Hope I don't have a reason to come to you soon, but if I do...lol...you're BMW's one stop shop from now on. read more

While not the cheapest BMW service shop around, Hamlet is certainly much cheaper than the BMW dealership. Their work and service is good, but there are cheaper alternatives for the same type of service (like the M Shop). The garage is lined with BMW's they are working on or they own. So it instills some peace of mind that they know what they are doing. They only work on BMW's, not even Mini's. As I mentioned Hamlet is a little pricier than others and the one thing I really don't like - they don't think outside the box. Instead of fixing a part, they would rather replace it. The options he provides are never economical. At this point my review is over. However, I have listed an example of my most recent experience below. I have been going to Hamlet for over 3 years but a recent experience will ensure I never go back. My car died on the road (130k miles on my BMW) and I got it towed to Hamlet. The symptoms were: 1) My engine heat meter was all the way to red 2) My odometer was not working 3) The ABS, Brake, Check Engine and a couple of other lights in the instrument panel were on All this occurred at the same time so I was sure it was one problem causing everything (I still am). However, when Hamlet got my car, he proceeded to give me a quote of $1500 for replacing the fuel gasket, the power steering hose, a couple of additional belts and hoses and the tray that apparently helps prevent coolant leakage. His diagnosis was that the overheating occurred due to coolant leakage, but this had been an older problem and the fix was to put coolant in the radiator whenever the Check Coolant indicator went on once every couple of months. This time, that indicator was not on and I had just added more coolant a couple of weeks back. Anyway, I thought he would have fixed all the problems, but $1700 later, he said the ABS problem still existed and that a chip in the DSC unit was bad. It was freaking out the transmission and the car could only operate in 3rd gear. Operating it in this condition would ruin my transmission. So, he gave me an additional quote of $1650 to fix this problem. At this point, I took my car from him and parked it in my garage. I called around and the M Shop offered to fix this (pending an evaluation and assuming their diagnosis was consistent with Hamlets) for $1300. I had asked Hamlet to provide me with other options. Could I get a used part? Could we disable the plug that connects the ABS to the transmission? He had said no. So I found a place called BMS Auto in Pacoima, that has offered to find a used part and install it for $500. I am waiting for BMS to call me once they have a part, but in any case, the one thing they did do to help me was to disconnect the plug between ABS and transmission so that the transmission operates normally. Hope this helps. If you have other options, and you do, I would avoid Hamlet unless you don't mind blindly paying for stuff. His work is good, but as I said, he is not the most economical. read more

I don't know why this Auto Repair Shop doesn't have more reviews but here I go. (Edit, because of filtered reviews.) I recently visited Hamlet BMW to get my window replaced as the window regulator had failed on me once again. I decided to visit Hamlet as I was referred by a relative and this independent shop is cheaper compared to the ones I called around my area. Overall, Hamlet over the phone was very friendly and courteous. I dropped off my car and I left for around 2 hours. I come back to pick up my car and arrive at his office. Before paying I ask him nicely "Can I test out my window first?" As a customer, I want to make sure my window is in working condition before paying. I mean who wouldn't want to do this? I've had extremely bad luck with my car windows in the past. After asking this question, he immediately looks at me and asks me "Why, you don't trust me?" with a disgusted face. In my mind I was like...."Really?" This is no way to treat your customers. You're running a business? Act like you are. Anyways, that got me heated and after making sure everything was in working condition, I sat in my car and checked my coin stash just to make sure my coins haven't been touched. To my amazement, all my quarters, nickels, and dimes were GONE. Whoever took them was nice enough to leave me 1 dime and my remaining pennies. Overall, they are cheaper than the dealership, but I WOULD NOT take my car here again after this experience. As a potential customer, look at other available options. I would take my BMW to The M Shop located in Eagle Rock. It's a bit pricier and you have to call in to make an appointment or come in early based on what's wrong with your vehicle. Side note: After leaving them my vehicle, they proceeded to drive my car like a maniac in the small space they have available. The individual who brought my car out drove like he was driving the Long Beach Grand Prix hugging my car close to the walls. Update: After cleaning my car and again checking the side in which they fixed my window, they chipped off a piece of my interior trim. This is depressing because I have kept my car in immaculate condition. Take your BMW elsewhere. read more

They did a horrible job on my V8. Spent close to $10K in engine work in 11months chasing after leaks. And after all was done in less than 3months I started to have oil leaks again. So then I went to a recommended bmw indi in and they said Hamlet did a horrible job and recommend pulling the engine to redo the work. Went to 2 other bmw indi shops just to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion and all of them said the same thing. Sealants placed where it shouldnt be, used home construction bolts on certain places instead of factory, missing bolts on some places, timing chain was off spec. And all gaskets and parts used were NOT genuine bmw as Hamlet would always say he uses genuine. So another $4k to pull the engine and replace every gasket again and finally no more leaks. Its been in 8months since Sorry this is lengthy. But hopefully an enthusiast will appreciate this review. For simple jobs like brakes, fluids and window regulators they should be safe. But anything that requires more specialized work I would stay away. Just glad my other 3 V8 BMWs havent been touched by Hamlet. read more

Bad service, from the beginning he didn't discus about diagnostic fee after 4 hours he called saying it will cost me $400 to fix or I have to $180 for diagnostic fee to take car as is. This shop is amazing. I work for a local dealer who services BMW and was terrified about the cost of letting our technicians work on my wife's 2004 5 Series Wagon. My car's battery would drain after sitting without driving for 2 days and required a jump. I knew that I could be dealing with a great deal of money when it came to diagnostics alone and wasn't prepared to spend a fortune for repairs on a car with 179,000 miles. My co-worker recommended Hamlet a I am ever so grateful. I was anticipating a repairs in excess of $500 and was very relieved to find our cost was less than $150 for parts and labor. I could go on and on, thanks Hamlet. I'll be back and I will also be sending anyone who's asking for honest and reliable BMW service over to you without hesitation. Alvin B read more
