It was recommended that I try this place from a friend after he posted his food online. He had a bento box style lunch but I didn't see that on the menu which was okay - wanted sushi anyway. The miso soup was flavorful and hot - delicious. The warm edamame had just the right amount of salt. The server was very attentive and the restaurant was clean. We will be back. read more

Finally got the chance to try this place for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. They have a nice selection of classic and specialty dishes to choose from, but I really liked the combo options. I ended up going with sushi combo #1 which came with edamame, 5 pieces of assorted nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, & spicy tuna over crispy rice - it felt like a good value for $18. The salmon stood out - it was super fresh and buttery. I also really liked their toro from Spain which was amazing - deff order this if they have it! The service was really nice and everything came out quickly. I like that they have some nice outdoor seating too. Will definitely be adding this spot to my rotation. read more

My bf and I came here for lunch on vacation. The restaurant is clean and is cutely decorated. The server was attentive and we were sat right away. I love that they do combos, so you are able try a myriad of nigiri. We got the sushi combo #3 and the crispy albacore roll. Last night was their soft opening and everything from the food to the customer service was ON POINT! I'm a self proclaimed sashimi lover and during dinner, I fell in love once again (with the yummy food)! It was super busy when I got there but lucky me were able to grab a seat right at the bar + got to witness the sushi chefs show off their magic. I hit twice the lucky jackpot when they announced "moi" as the raffle winner for one of the FABULOUS prizes. (Did someone say Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag?????) Check out my pics to believe it! I usually hate to admit this but I lack (quite a lot) of patience when it comes to eating out. I despise having to flag down a waiter to order my food then wait another 20 minutes just to have them bring out a glass of water. Sorry but not sorry ....I'm just a busy gal. However, you will never run into this issue at Bora Sushi my friends... because there's a QR code you scan right at your table to order + pay. Talk about convenience! I had such a wonderful time last night that I added a future visit to my bucket list. My biggest regret was getting there late and not having the chance to down another bottle of Sake (just kidding). I highly recommend this new gem to all my fellow Elite Yelpers. Five stars!!!!!! read more

I went with a group of friends, one of whom opened a couple of the most famous and high quality sushi restaurants in LA. Even she was very impressed. The chef sent us a truffle salmon sashimi plate that was out of this world. The prices are great, quality above and beyond, and the owners are super nice. I post this just to hope that a local, high quality place could make a go of it in WeHo! Go!!! You won't regret it!! read more

WOW WOW WOW Can I just say how incredible the food here is? Got seated with an incredibly friendly server and instantly made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Got started off with some sushi and wow, the warmth of the rice and fish was perfection. They just melted in my mouth and I wanted more. The blue crab roll was fat and juicy... the dragon roll was perfect. The fish to rice ratio was just the perfect amount. The highlight of my dinner-- I loved the visualization of the tuna yuzu... everything about it was beautiful. If you're ever in the West Hollywood area, make sure to check out Bora Sushi! read more

Hmmm I have been waiting over an hour for my take out. It's not even busy in here. What I think is that they only have one (inexperienced) sushi chef and a second making the other dishes. Would love to add an opinion on the food but no food yet. Still waiting when the estimated time was 25-30 mins. So it's double that time. Also this guy running around serving the tables hasn't even offered me any tea or anything. Plus the inside is trash. A bunch of things that should be hidden is stored in the front when you walk in. An electric scooter. The vibe in here is more like a place closing down than a vibrant thriving shop. I really want to give this place a chance. The food might be MIGHT be good but after this I don't know if I will ever come back for the price. Go up to sunset for Ta-Ke Sushi. Way better for the price. And actually run by a true japanese sushi master. One hour and twenty one minutes I finally got my food. . The guy serving and running everything looked so stressed and sad I mean like I said the food might be good. So I guess we'll see read more

Definitely a good spot for a date night. I was craving some yakitori, so we ordered a bunch of different ones including Negima, Gizzard, Tsukune, Wings, Chicken Thigh, Liver, Hearts, and Cartilage. All the yakitori was cooked to order and everything came out really good. We also had the Hokkaido Scallops & Sweet Shrimp Crudo, which was delicious. For sushi, I ordered some nigiri including Scallop, Salmon Belly, Bluefin Toro, and Kanpachi, plus the King Tuna Roll. I have to say everything tasted pretty good. I honestly came in thinking it was going to be just okay, but I was pleasantly surprised and ended up really enjoying everything we ordered. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice and intimate. I'd definitely come back, especially for the yakitori. Great little spot for a date night if you're around The Grove.

Interesting experience to say the least…read more Came on a Saturday night off the whim and was seated right away. There's indoor and outdoor. Outdoor consists of the sidewalk & a sectioned off patio section. I liked the dark ambiance, it felt very romantic. The lighting was very intimate. A waitress came, got our drink orders and we ordered the duck breast as an appetizer. We got our drinks, which the tall glass is very misleading as I felt like I barely sipped anything and it was GONE, lol. I ordered the watermelon drink and it was tasty, I just wanted watermelon water anyways. It came with a watermelon slice which was nice. After the drinks we were WAITING idk how long until a different waitress came and took our order ?? We put in our entree, received them & never got our appetizer. We were waiting a long time for someone else to come by. I ordered the seared kanpachi jalapeño roll, which 10/10!! it was flavorful, had the spice & felt fresh. I didn't have to add anything like soy sauce to it. I just eat all my sushi with ginger and it paired great with it. Finally someone showed up & we said we ordered a duck breast appetizer with the first waitress, which was never put in. So the second waitress went ahead and put it in. The duck breast has an interesting texture. I can't explain it. I did not like the texture. The flavor was fine but the texture really threw me off personally. Kind of reminded me of pâté cat food, it felt like how paté cat food looks if that makes sense. Texture wise. Overall, service was trash. The waitresses were both unfriendly, but I guess that's just LA customer service nowadays. We waited forever. Spent more time waiting rather than eating. Valet or street metered parking. Restrooms in the back, 2 single unisex stalls.

I recently dined at this Japanese restaurant and I must say, I absolutely love it! The service has always been top-notch and I sincerely hope they maintain this level of excellence. I find myself ordering from here frequently, as it is incredibly convenient to have the option of delivery or pick-up. Now, let's talk about the food. It is simply amazing! The ingredients used are always fresh, and you can taste the high quality in every bite. Whether it's sushi, sashimi, or any other dish, the flavors are consistently excellent. I can't get enough of their delicious offerings. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine. The combination of great service, convenient options, and outstanding food make it a standout choice. I'll definitely be a regular customer here! read more

We ordered the gyoza appetizer, chicken teriyaki dinner and the sushi dinner, each coming with miso soup and house salad. The gyozas were lightly crisped and the accompanying sauce was yummy. The chicken teriyaki was cooked well and there were no pieces of cartilage in the chicken. The star of the meal was the sushi dinner. The fish was fresh and surprisingly the rolls were pretty big.
