The wing epidemic has struck this place, so they didn't have wings for sale. I ordered the following: Boudin chips A sampler of fish and shrimp. A 3 meat plate with 2 sides (ribs, smoked chicken, sausage, collared greens and beef baked beans Peach cobbler. The food comes out hot and fresh! Let's get this over with...the people can cook. Really good flavor with the fish, shrimp, bbq sauce and peach cobbler. Decent taste on everything else. The meats were not tough at all and came off the bone rather easily. They offer free refills on their teas. They do cater. You should seriously consider them catering your event. I'll be back to this place. The smell of good ass home style cookin hits you as soon as you walk in! There were about 3 tables of folks grubbin lookin full and satisfied so we felt like we were in the right place! Atmosphere was pretty nice and chill with eclectic tunes playin! We grabbed some half and half tea and an order of boudain chips. They were tasty! She ordered the chopped brisket sammich with fries and beef baked beans. Man, those baked beans go HARD!! We loved them! So fkn much!! I ordered the ribs, collard greens and cabbage! Ribs were nice, thick and delish! Cabbage was ok and collard greens were just like I like them!! We got a peach cobbler to split and it came out super hot and I went in anyway. It was worth the burn! The place was closed on Friday during alleged work hours, the ambiance is scary, looks as if in an area with not much safety, at least the people don't abide the traffic laws. Also right next to the railroad, with the trains there at least the half an hour I was there, not a nice place at all. Looks like a container. Absolutely fantastic food! Crawfish on Fridays and Saturdays, closed on Sunday. My husband ate crawfish and on the first night (yes, we came back-to-back because it was just that good!) Me and my boys stopped in for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was good, the bun had a nice toast to it which gave it a nice crunch when biting it. The pork was tasty. I also had a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was good, but was too salty for my taste. It was not heated all the way through, I believe it was in the refrigerator and was taken out as a portion and heated up, but not enough. One of my sons had the smoked chicken plate. It had nice smoke flavor, the meat was not dry but not as moist as I'd like or expect. The baked beans were very good with pieces of brisket mixed in. My other son had the baked potato with brisket. He said it was very good. Overall I'd say that this is a good place to eat. I will definitely come back and give something else a try. read more
