    Beef baked beans are amazing!!!
    Monica B.

My lady said she wanted a bbq sammich. I read the reviews and decided to go check it out! I love finding hidden little gems and this is def that! The smell of good ass home style cookin hits you as soon as you walk in! There were about 3 tables of folks grubbin lookin full and satisfied so we felt like we were in the right place! Atmosphere was pretty nice and chill with eclectic tunes playin! We grabbed some half and half tea and an order of boudain chips. They were tasty! She ordered the chopped brisket sammich with fries and beef baked beans. Man, those baked beans go HARD!! We loved them! So fkn much!! I ordered the ribs, collard greens and cabbage! Ribs were nice, thick and delish! Cabbage was ok and collard greens were just like I like them!! We got a peach cobbler to split and it came out super hot and I went in anyway. It was worth the burn! I liked it a lot! I got a cup of the "house tea" it's good and tangy/sweet!! Be careful!! Lol! The owner Anthony said they have been open 9 months! I think that's amazing to open during a pandemic! He's a super smart and sweet guy cooking up good Tex-Louisiana cuisine with down home prices!! Don't sleep on this place! Come get a taste!

Great little spot. The food is outstanding and the owner are super friendly. The music is great and the ambiance has that Louisiana zest.

Found this place on Yelp and it was great surprise. I got the 3 meat special and all the meats were cooked to perfection. I got the green beans and the potatoes salad as the sides and were both flavorful also. Will definitely be back to try other foods.

Casual southern cooking doesn't get much better. Love this place for lunch. Super friendly people, too, which makes the experience even better. That (SWEET) tea though-- watch it. If you like it sweet, expect to get your money's worth!

Absolutely fantastic food! Crawfish on Fridays and Saturdays, closed on Sunday. My husband ate crawfish and on the first night (yes, we came back-to-back because it was just that good!) I had the fried pork chops. Second night I had the smoked chicken quarter. I can't tell you which was better because both were wonderful!

Hands down the best bbq in Houston....Ain't nobody out here messing with their collard greens. Both service and food were A1. My apologies for killing my food before taking a picture, but they the truth.

A hidden gem! Hard to find but once you find this place you will not be disappointed! Staff is very welcoming as the food to my mouth. As I opened the door to this fabulous place I was welcomed by this man and lady and offered me something to drink while I waited for a friend. Ordered the pulled pork and potato salad. The sandwich had Thai sweet bit tangy flavor to it while the potato salad was a simple mustard mix but everything was delicious! Will be coming back to try the catfish... this place should have more reviews...

In the past they would bring out a bread basket, as a free appetizer like how some mexican restaurants bring out chips and salsa, however, they dont seem to do that here anymore. Service at the table was mediocre, our waitress took our drink order and on the way over, the waitress was spilling the drinks over the floor on the way to our table. After our waitress took our order, my gf did not get the mayo on the side as she had asked, and after we received our food, our waitress never came around to check on us, didn't refill our drinks or anything. The place was very loud, louder than visiting waffle house. I was trying to have a conversation with my gf sitting just across the table from one another, and we were having to literally yell at one another just to hear what each other were saying. My gf did state that the sandwich she ordered was a big sandwich, and was more than she could finish. Once we were ready to go, our waitress still hadn't been around to check on us. So I had to flag down someone else, to get us some to go boxes, and our check. Low and behold, when I was ready to checkout, the waitress appears out of nowhere, after all this time, I'm guessing because she thought she was going to get a good tip. I'm sorry, waitstaff only get a great tip from me, once and if they perform a great job duty, and this was not the case in this matter. Maybe, better luck next time, maybe Papas needs to hire better waitstaff worth hiring and keeping.

There were 2 servers that were assisting with the table. Both very nice and got our orders correct. I had to split the bill in a weird way and they followed instructions well. The restaurant is always nice and clean including the restroom. The restaurant has a lunch option for 2 items for $25. What a steal! I got the wedge salad because I love the smothered blue cheese dressing. I got the mahi mahi tacos. Tacos were a good lighter choice. I didn't realize that it came with fries. All delicious options and so many options for even the pickiest eaters. Always a good choice for a nicer lunch.

Service: not great, we had a manager start off as our server but she was awkward in a "not socially aware" way (ex. she kept saying our server had to use the bathroom, even when our server came to the the table and looked so embarrassed; she also told me my non-alcoholic drink order would not taste good without knowing it's what I drink at home), rushed us (every time she said she would give us a moment she'd come RIGHT back to the table within seconds) Our actual server started off rocky as well, perhaps wasn't having a good day and she was visibly annoyed with the manager. She was short and blank with us until she realized we're very nice lol and by the end, her tone and energy had completely shifted for the better. The foreign object: about 2/3 of the way through the meal, I bit into a small piece of blue plastic. Did not know if it was in the fish or the mac and cheese, but I was devastated because I was almost finished eating but couldn't due to paranoia. Our server handled it swiftly and the manager came and let us know it was take off the bill and offered free dessert. Overall, not bad and the food was good enough to where I would go back and give them another try in the future.

The staff is super friendly, and we were welcomed as we were (we had hoped to eat at a sister establishment but they sold out of what we wanted). Mimo's offers a great selection of Italian inspired apps, three well appointed pizzas, a few varied and surprising options for pasta dishes, and some mains. Items we tried: Pane - delicious Roasted Carrot Pizza - AMAZING, A little spicy, but definitely something we would order again. Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. But to each his own. Overall - really great. Would recommend. This would be great for a weeknight dinner or an off the beaten path date night.
