I arrived at Camden Yards starving, paid a bunch of money, then was less hungry. That's the nature of ballpark food, and it succeeded. I got the turkey Boog sandwich and a beer. Overall, I had mixed feelings. On the plus side: The sandwich was pretty large (though not huge), with good cuts of meat. ($10). However, the meat was cold and really dry. I probably should have added more toppings (There's a bar with BBQ sauce, onions, and horseradish), but didn't foresee the need to slather my sandwich with Heinz BBQ sauce. The roll was pretty weak also If I went again, I'd probably go with the "Double Boog" ($15 for double meat and chips), but I won't go again. I am being generous in giving 3 stars, since this is, after all, ballpark food. But there looked to be some good alternatives in Camden Yards, so you'll probably want to think about those before just seeing Boog's and settling. read more

I had an awesome Pit Beef and Pit Pork Combo Sandwich. They loaded the roll with meat, which was served with potato chips, baked beans, and cole slaw. Like most natives, I always put tons of horseradish and bbq sauce on my pit sandwiches. I can't believe that after all these years, this might be the first time that I have gotten Boog's BBQ. Ran the gauntlet at this place my first three visits to the park; they offer turkey, pork and beef which are the best in that order. A little on the pricey side, but let's face it - what sports concessions aren't? Decent beef, turkey, and pork sandwiches. I always get the beef, but sometimes some turkey gets on the sandwich and I would say it is equally as good. It's not going to be the best bbq sandwich you've ever had, but it is solid enough and a tradition at Orioles Park. The sides are skimpy as hell (beans and slaw) and if you want chips, you should opt for the double meat sandwich for $1 more. Just get the double meat anyway and thank me later. (05/26/2011) Pit beef is a regional specialty, this one tends to be a little on the dry and chewy side; getting rare pieces makes it better, and make use of the condiment bar (definitely punch it up with a little BBQ sauce and lots of horseradish). I always was a fan of Boog Powell. A lifetime .266 hitter with 339 home runs, he also struck out almost as much as he got hits. (1226 vs. 1776). That meant every at bat was exciting. Either he hit the leather off the ball or you felt the wind from his bat after he struck out. He almost had that Babe Ruth mystique about him in Baltimore. Big man, big swing, big excitement. I wish I could say the same about his BBQ place. Whoever is running his BBQ business behind the right field wall in Camden Yards is disgracing his name. I wish Boog could go to the ballpark with his bat..and give his restaurant management a shakeout. I paid $25 for 2 pork sandwiches, 1 beef sandwich with sides of cole slaw and baked beans. Everything was stone cold. The meat was refrigerator cold, the beans were tepid, and the cole slaw was about the same temperature. The bread was days old STALE. The bread was so dry it fell apart before we even handled it... like they bought day old bread to save money. What a disgusting disgrace. I could have bought 5 beef sandwiches at Arby's for $5.95 and had a better eating experience. The pork besides being cold, was like eating sliced luncheon meat. It was tender, but no hint of the meat being BBQ'd. The BBQ beef was nothing more than roast beef. Not slow cooked for very long. It had lots of gristle, was tough and was medium rare. It was not a very good cut of meat for the price you paid. The cole slaw was actually pretty good 4 star material and that saved this rating going to 1 star. The baked beans were also very good and tasty but it was cold. It had the potential to be 4 stars. The sauces were also pretty good. 4 stars for the bbq sauce and 4 stars for the mustard. They actually were pretty good. I loved having the big bowl of straight horseradish and sliced onions to spark up the sandwich. But I am not going to rate a place based on side dishes and condiments. The main course has to be good and has 80% of the weighting They also had too many kids running the booth. They were more concerned about looking busy getting food on the plates but not paying attention to the quality of the food in front of them. I don't think anyone bothered to check the temperature of the baked beans or that the meat was cold. It's ok to have kids helping out...but you need someone with restaurant experience to look after the food. They could have been serving dog food and not noticed. In addition they seem obsessed...no...its more like POSSESSED in counting the plates when they ring you up. I happened to have a plate with just cole slaw and beans on it and the sandwich was on another small plate (i asked for it late in the order). So they ring up the plate with just cole slaw and beans for $8. I ask why and they said they count plates for inventory...so an empty plate costs a customer $8. I had them take the sandwiches off the small plates and put them on a big plate with cole slaw and beans. They were so terrified of throwing a small plate away, I think they reused it later. Didnt see it being thrown away. I asked if i could have those used small plates to hold extra sauce and they said no. They had to keep it for inventory. Even the used ones. Geez Whiz..... This place sounds like its being run by a recent ivy league MBA who thinks a successful business is built by accurately counting the napkins and toothpicks being consumed .... and that putting more quality and time into the food is just an additional expense to be minimized. THAT is how those kids are being trained. I dont' blame the kids...I BLAME THE MANAGEMENT. Camden Yards boasts in their ads and website of having some of the best food around Baltimore. It's sadly obvious their marketing department doesn't eat at the park. It's even sadder that Camden Yards is a wonderful park, and I agree, I like it better than Dodger Stadium (I was a kid when they built it and saw many games there) Dodger Stadium is GREAT for being over 40 years old...a classic ballpark, so it's saying alot that Camden is better. It's too bad the food ruins some of the experience there. Boog, if by some strange chance you happen to read this review....PLEASE go to the park and straighten out your management there. Got my Dinner here while attending an Orioles game on my Birthday. I chose the double-meat Pork BBQ sandwich, which came with homemade (I believe) Kettle Chips. The Pork was tender, flavorful, juicy and remarkable. Really good. The Kettle Chips were crunchy and nice. This is the best food choice at Camden Yards if you are me. Great grub! I go up yearly to see the Red Sox & I had my fiancee in tow this season. We fasted all day so that we could tackle Boog's at game time. I had the turkey & she had pork, and we got the "Big Boog" , which equated to having a turkey football, and the chips with the Old Bay seasoning were very good. Plus, we got to chat with the main man himself, so that was an added treat. My only gripe would be the price, it was 40.00 for the two of us with bottled waters, which is beyond stiff, but when they have 9 dollar beer, what should you expect? read more

As far as ballpark food, it was good, but I expected much more based on the hype. Aside from the crab at Camden Yards, Boog's BBQ is the quintessential food choice. I went with the pork sandwich - it was perfectly spicy, but it needed sauce since it was so dry. At least the dry sandwich encourages and soaks up most of the ballpark drinking. read more

I've come here a couple times when I've been to O's games. Definitely far from really good barbeque, but I still think it's worth checking out if you come by for a game. The line can be a little daunting, but it moves fast. The sandwich itself is pretty boring, so you really have to add stuff to it at the Fixins bar. I've perfected my Old Bay to bbq sauce ratio, so I'm happy with how it turns out in the end. In town with brother-in-law to see Orioles game. I had season tickets in 2004 and 2005 then switches to the Washington Nationals. I really like the stadium and people recommended Boog's BBQ. Had the double meat beef sandwich which was great. I'm not sure of the brand of potato chips but their were great as well. When Boog (and Camden Yards) first opened, this stand had aweome BBQ beef and pit turkey. Over the years the prices have skyrocketed and the quality plummeted. Went to a game about a week ago and got very dry pit turkey on a dry roll with a tiny helping of warm cole slaw. Nothing freaks me out more than warm cole slaw. Even when the base is vinegar, not mayo. But for the price, you should get a big juicy sandwich. Not the pathetic thing you get at Boog's these days. They are living off the reputation and the name. If you REALLY want a good pit beef before the ball game (and live on the west side of town), hit the Canopy beforehand and take the food in with you. Way bigger, way better. Boog's is possibly the best food at Camden Yards. Yes, it is expensive, but this is a baseball stadium, where everything is obnoxiously overpriced, get over it! My favorite thing at Boog's is the pit turkey platter : pit turkey sandwich, baked beans, cole slaw. I've only gotten Boog's at the club level location recently, so I'm not sure what the portions are like on Eutaw, but the club level location makes sure that the plate is overflowing with food. Anyways, the sandwich and sides are always tasty, along with the jalapeno bbq sauce which has a mild kick to it. I'd read online that Boog's offered gluten-free options which is rare at a stadium. The employee who helped me stepped out of the assembly line, changed his gloves, opened an individually-wrapped gluten-free bun, and prepared my turkey sandwich away from the main line. He also provided me with regular chips (no Old Bay). It's clear that Boog's has trained their staff well regarding food allergies, and it was very much appreciated! Was at the ballpark over the weekend and went to Boog's before the game started. They had two lines serving food with a third line for meeting the man himself. The meats are all thinly sliced which is different from most bbq joints. For the 4 of us we got two beef and two pork, 1 slaw, and 4 drinks. They offer horseradish, raw onions, and heinze bbq sauce at the condiment bar. Choice of sauce is a bit disappointing. The sandwich is pretty large but i found it needed something else to supplement the meat. I used some slaw and bbq sauce, and we wolfed it down on the porch in right field. Gluten Free options!!! I was at Camden Yards this past weekend and stood in line with a friend to get the traditional favorite. I assumed I couldn't have any because I have celiac disease and require gluten free. I took a chance and asked if it would be gluten free without the bun. When they learned that I had an allergy, I was directed to a separate area and a lady put fresh gloves on and was very careful to avoid cross contamination. Best of all, they offer gluten free buns so I was able to enjoy my sandwich like everyone else! They offered gluten free sides as well. Yay Boog's, Thanks for making my game day experience extra great! If you have a food allergy, just ask. My only recommendation would be to list it on the menu so more people know. Had I not been waiting with a friend, I would not have stopped because I would not have known. read more
