Barría

Known for their catering services but had the opportunity to order in. I enjoyed everything! They have various barrira options and I'm sure each are as delicious as the original taco option. Flavorful, juicy, but slight warning they have a lot of cheese. Drinks were refreshing as well!

Super cute restaurant East Boston!! Great spot for a dinner with friends or a little date night. Fun, cocktails, and great portions. We split one man into appetizers and that was more than enough for two people. Drinks are also a great price. Everything was delicious and we definitely will be going back! The server was also wonderful. They have TVs inside for watching sports.

Came here tonight with my friend and we absolutely loved the food, the staff and vibes! We really wanted a dish with salmon but didn't saw any on the menu we asked the waitress if it was possible to make it and she said yes! She brought us exactly what we wanted and we thought that was really nice from them! The food was delicious and the papas locas are amazing too! Will definitely come back! Thank you!

Bono, what a hidden gem. This place is so cute inside! We walked by so many times without stopping by and what a mistake that was. The people that work there are genuinely happy that you are visiting them and are really warm. They have tables in the back and can accommodate. The food came out fast and was delicious as well. Their soft drinks are pretty cool too but on the sweet side for sure.

Coconut tres leches cake

All I can say about this bakery is WOW!!! Case del Pandebono definitely exceeded my expectations all the way from Virginia! Being in quarantine, I really wanted to make my best friend's birthday special. I did extensive research on bakeries in the Boston area and I was really impressed with their cakes I saw on Facebook. I reached out to the bakery, and the response was prompt and friendly. I was in touch with Fernando, who was very informative with ordering a birthday cake. I went with the coconut tres leches cake. I was a little worried how everything would turn out since I was ordering from out of state but Fernando was very reassuring and detailed the entire process. I was able to pay over the phone and confirmed the delivery information. The night prior to the delivery, I sent a message to make sure everything was ready to go and he sent me a picture of what the cake looked like. Amazing!! And the day of, he sent me of a picture of the delivery. He even called the birthday girl when the cake was delivered. She called me and was so happy to see the special surprise! She said that Fernando was super friendly with a birthday greeting and delivery. I sent her the bakery's information and she is looking forward to visiting them soon. Next time I'm in Boston, they are going to be my first stop, so that I can thank them in person! Not only do they have beautiful cakes, but their food looks delicious too and I am a huge fan of Colombian food! I am so grateful they were able to make this happen during this unprecedented time, and that I was able to depend on them for their prompt and pleasant service! They truly went above and beyond. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Following up on a recent tres leches and churro order that were the highlight of our event, we decided to stop in for breakfast on their gorgeous sidewalk patio. We enjoyed a Molletes sandwich, Bavarian cream-filled churro, chocolate cream donut and a breakfast sandwich with chorizo and egg. The bread and pastry is so fresh and tasty. With sandwich orders, you receive side sauces. The salsa verde is spectacular! The patio is lovely and the staff and owner are simply the nicest people and are very accommodating. Most importantly, the restaurant is very clean and food is stored well. Please support this wonderful small business, you won't be disappointed!

This is my favorite place to go to in East Boston. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and delicious! The inside is so cutely decorated and there's always great music. The staff is super friendly and inviting.

Fantastic service and food. Homemade salsas, cheese, and bread. Pupussas were cheesy and fresh. Arepa was simple and flavorful. Coffee was hot and fresh. Highly recommend!

Delicious authentic Salvadoran breakfast tucked away in an unassuming neighborhood of East Boston. Small, compact space, and warm, fast service. It was a treat! Their specialty cakes all look super delicious and beautiful. Would definitely come back!

There's so many nice things to be said about Pandebono. Our neighbors have a close relationship with the owner and asked to make me something special for Hanukkah. They took their delicious fried donuts and stuffed them with jelly - a Columbian Jewish love fest, if you will! I went recently for lunch and snagged the birria tacos. I stuffed all 4 tacos in my mouth at the same time - just kidding, but I really did scarf them down. They're a fried taco filled with cheese and bbq beef, served with a dipping sauce (sort of like a soup or gravy) and rice. They were HEAVENLY. You can also order these as a taco or torta. There's pastry cases filled with all sorts of breads and pastries, so there's much to try!

This place was phenomenal!…read more I have to say, living in San Diego, I was not expecting much from a "Mexican" restaurant in BOSTON. (Any more than anyone from here would expect decent Chowder in San Diego.) My local friend chose this place, and I couldn't be more impressed. It started with this amuse-bouche, which was this frozen grapefruit treat that they poured some tequila on top of. (I uploaded a video of it.) We ordered a Red Crab Aguachile, Habanero Chicken Rancho Quesadilla, and Beef Gorditas. I would describe all of them as Mexican-inspired. They took the flavors and ingredients of Mexican cuisine, and then ran with them. Nothing was "familiar," per se. That is to say, if you're looking for Authentic Mexican cuisine, I'd suggest coming over to my place. :) But this food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was super helpful, giving us plenty of time to order and consider the menu, there when we needed him, and didn't rush us to finish. The vibe in there is super warm, with some interesting decor. My friend said it was a little louder than normal because of a private party that was happening. But it just felt like a vibrant restaurant.

Such a fun restaurant! The theming and decorations are like gothic Mexico. Dark and colorful. Since…read moreI was alone, I sat at the bar. There was a wait for tables even on a weekday evening. I ordered calamari and griddled cornbread (based on reading reviews) yeah I know too many carbs. And because I heard that the drinks are so good here, I wanted to try something, but I don't drink tequila. The bartender asked me if I liked coconut and made me what I think was a coconut lemonade drink which was delicious! And both dishes were really good too. Would be a great place to go with a group of friends for a nice evening out. And yes, I'd go there again when I'm in town.

Taquería Jalisco is a casual Mexican restaurant in East Boston specializing in traditional…read morestreet-style tacos, tortas, tamales, and dishes inspired by the flavors of Jalisco. We walked into a small, unassuming space where the focus is squarely on freshly prepared food made with bold, authentic flavors. The dining room is modest and functional, with a counter and a handful of tables that give it the feel of a neighborhood taquería rather than a sit-down restaurant. The energy is practical and welcoming, with the open kitchen allowing us to see the tortillas being pressed and the meats being grilled fresh behind the counter. The birria tacos are the signature order and the dish that defines the menu. We ordered a few and found the tortillas crisped up on the griddle, the beef tender and well seasoned, and the rich consommé served on the side for dipping. The combination of the savory meat, the crispy tortilla, and the deep, slightly smoky broth made each bite feel layered and complete. Other standouts include the adobada tacos, which had a good char and a subtle spice that built gradually, and the lengua torta, with tender tongue layered between a soft roll and topped with fresh ingredients. The pozole was hearty and comforting, with a broth that carried the flavor of the hominy and meat without being overly heavy. The tamales, chicken flautas, and well-seasoned rice and beans rounded out the menu, each arriving hot and freshly made. The pickled onions and house salsas added extra flavor, and the horchata was a popular choice to pair with the meal, its cinnamon sweetness cutting through the richness of the dishes. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Despite its modest size, the kitchen moved efficiently, making it a reliable option for both dine-in and takeout. The staff checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, ensuring that even when the small dining room filled up, the experience stayed smooth. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in the Boston area, Taquería Jalisco stands out for its consistently flavorful cooking, generous portions, and menu built around classic recipes rather than modern interpretations. It is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and the simplicity of the setting only adds to the sense that you are eating something made with care and tradition.

The location isn't ideal if you're driving. There is parking around but still - much easier to Lyft/Uber. Atmosphere was cute. Alright, the food... The street corn - delicious! Carne asada fries - super good! Tenderloin tips - (sign) not good at all. They had a very unpleasant taste and were not tender at all. Shrimp tacos - not bad but not crispy or crunchy like you expect fried shrimp to be. Definitely couldn't used a little more sauce as well. Birria tacos- also not memorable. We got two desserts - one out of 3 of us enjoyed them so, I guess it depends on your taste. Overall, it's fun to check out if it's on your list of places to visit. Definitely a one time visit.

The meat was cooked so well. Everything was so tender and juicy, and there was just so much food. I went back again this week for Mexican Independence Day, this time with my cute date. We shared the Queso con Chorizo and the Guacamole con Chicharrón. Honestly, those two things could have been dinner because the portions are so generous. Don't be fooled by the size of the queso plate. That thing is deep. Seriously, there is a LOT of queso in there. They also give you a generous amount of chicharrón with the guacamole. The chicharrón tasted warm, almost like it had just been fried, and added a really nice crunch to the guac. For a main, I had the octopus tacos, which had a lot of octopus in them. The watermelon and radish, along with the aioli, added such a nice contrast of sweet, savory, warm and cool. They were delicious. Honestly, my only problem with this place is that the food is so good and the portions are so fair that I had a hard time eating all of it. Oh well. We got to take some of it home, so I guess that's a good kind of problem. We also shared a flight of margaritas: the classic, mango, passionfruit, and watermelon. I think a flight is actually great for two people, unless you want to get crunk! The restaurant is very "instagramable" and the service was excellent. Sabina Mezcaleria is a cute, cozy restaurant with impeccable, genuinely warm service and absolutely incredible food. We always prefer eating at the bar--it feels more personal and less transactional, and we've met so many wonderful strangers that way. Last night reminded us exactly why we love it. Luis, our El Cantinero, took us on a spectacular journey through the world of mezcal and tequila. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does. We learned so much from him about tequila and mezcal, and he made the whole experience feel like an adventure rather than simply ordering drinks. And then came the food! I had the Enchilada Mole, and the mole was beautiful--deep, complex, rich, and perfectly balanced, without that powdery quality you sometimes find in lesser versions. The Chicharrones were enormous, thick, and cooked perfectly--almost melting in your mouth while absolutely exploding with flavor. Then came my favorite: the Empanada de Maíz. We had the one with chicharrones, beans, and mozzarella, and I almost cried. Seriously. SO flavorful, with this delicate little crispy coating on the outside that made it extraordinary. From Luis and the bar experience to every plate that came out of the kitchen, this was just an exceptional evening. Warm, intimate, delicious, and memorable.
