Time to brush up on your Spanish, because this is as authentic as it gets. Despite my limited Spanish, I was still able to communicate with staff with minimal difficulty. Still full from the Carne Asada, which was grilled and seasoned nicely. It seemed like most people came here for the Pupusas, which gives me a reason to come back. Small service fee if paying by credit card.

Came for the papusas! Did not disappoint. We got bean and cheese, mixed with pork and just cheese. We also got a plate of plantains to share. My friend got a lengua torta which she loved! Would recommend for some solid el Salvadoran food!

Happened to be in East Boston and saw a sign for $1 pupusas which I couldn't pass up and you should not either!! Walked right in ordered two with cheese and two mixed(chicken/cheese mixed filling) and my goodness I have never been happier! Ready in 10 minutes, everyone was following COVID protocol and wearing masks and happily sent me on my way. My biggest regret is not ordering other tidbits to go to try. Support them!! Your stomach will thank you

The food here is OK. It's another one of the ethnic cheap eats places with huge portions in the Eastie area. I've been on two occasions. First time I got a fried chicken plate. It had a lot of chicken which was good but could of been spicier. It was served with fries. Most of their entrees also come with salad and pupusas. I watched them make them right at the grill behind the bar. They were super authentic. You can get them with many toppings. The second time I had Pollo Topacio, which was a mix of chicken with onions, peppers, cheese, served with rice and salad. The dish however was extremely salty. I ended up having a few bites to get some food in me, then didn't even bother to take the rest home cause of the salt overload. I was disappointed. My boyfriend had a steak that was enormous. On top it oozed with melted cheese. He too said it was very salty. That again was served with salad and pupusas. I guess the cook that day had some heavy salt shaking. They serve excellent chips and salsa to every table. The chips were thick and addicting. I would recommend you get a side of home made guacamole with it. which was only $3. Both times we sat at the bar and the girl back there was very nice and tried to understand our English. I found the food hit or miss. It is priced extremely low, if I give it another shot, I'll probably ask for easy on the salt.

    delicious pupusa!

With all the variety of ethnic restaurants in the Eastie Meridian Street area, I'm glad that we had a local friend recommend Topacio to us so we wouldn't have to pick which one to go to ourselves. Definitely do not miss out on the pupusas-- authentic, inexpensive, and delicious. The cabbage and salsa add a freshness to the warm thick tortillas filled with beans and cheese, so be sure to add the sides on top! I also ordered a refreshing horchata that was perfection! Will definitely make more trips out to Eastie for pupusas from Topacio!

Cute little restaurant hidden inside Eastie. A lot of Central/South American cuisines here and they're super filling!! Ordered the Carne Asada plate and my buddy ordered the Mexican chicken. My plate hit the spot and my friend's Mexican Chicken wasn't bad. Tortillas they had were interesting and definitely would want to come back and try other items. Server and other employees were pretty nice to chat and get to know you along with things going on in the neighborhood.

This is my favorite place for Pupossa's, if I spelled it right. They are in East Boston, been going there for years. Cheap money

Friendly atmosphere, good food, but difficulty speaking when only spanish is spoken, you can still point at what you want so i reccomend it.

The interior of this is place is absolutely amazing! You will feel like you are in Mexico. Very colorful with lots of hand made Mexican tiles adorning the walls. I didn't have time to explore the menu (I also didn't have my glasses) but once I got back to my car I checked it out! The variety is off the charts and the prices seem very reasonable. Pleasantly surprised that they also carried my favorite non-alcohol drink: A Robert Parrish! Otherwise known as Heineken 00 for you Celtic fans! I'll def have to go back soon but not without some of my Mexican connoisseurs! Hope to see you soon! Tell the friendly fellow behind the bar that El Marco (Big Papa Gillis) sent you!

If there is one thing you do here, get the nachos.... seriously. Best I've ever had!…read moreThe food here is really good and the portions are absolutely insane. My partner and I arrived with empty stomachs and thought we could annihilate an appetizer and two mains but we were very quickly proven wrong. The nachos (we got pork) were so packed with meat and toppings that halfway through we knew it was over. Each bite was perfection though and it was so worth it. We also ordered a steak torta and some quesadillas. The steak torta was pretty average tasting to me, and the cuts of steak were definitely different than I'm used to. I appreciated it came with a side of fries, but that honestly wasn't even necessary. The quesadillas were excellent and reminded me of what you'd get in Oaxaca! The cheese pull goes crazy too. We also ordered a horchata and I was also pretty disappointed in this. I'm not sure exactly why but it just wasn't hitting the spot for me. And trust me, I love horchatas. Overall this place is a really good option if you're looking for some tasty Mexican food. It's super close to the Blue Line, the wait staff are incredibly nice and accommodating, and the ambience inside the restaurant is great too.
