The steak was cooked perfectly and it came with everything I was craving. Plus the refried beans, creama, eggs, plantains, chicharron, and warm tortilla--yum! The pupusa was different, as it's made with a different cheese here which the waitress did warn us. Because of this, it wasn't our favorite but still good. Overall this spot is popular in East Boston, I would definitely check it out! Also if you tell them it's your birthday they will sing to you and you get to wear the special hat :)

I live locally, we have been buying their food and supporting them for years, since before the pandemic. Last night we had other food from somewhere else around the corner and just wanted to get two regular / virgin pina coladas to go. But because this particular woman doesn't like black people, she did not want to serve us the drinks. Not only was her customer service terrible, she was also trying to extort / milk us for more money. whole time the store was closing in like 30 minutes, and it would've been smart to allow your business to earn more money even if it's small, on drinks while you get ready to shut the grill down. Instead, they wanted us to order something, they would have to rush to make it, and then rush us to eat it, and then kick us out because it was closing soon. Soooooo disappointing. Actually Terrible service.

Thank you, Muqueca, for warming me up…read more Fish with Shrimp Moqueca: Made in the Capixaba recipe, this version replaced red palm oil and coconut milkthem with tomatoes--which happened to be my favorite. The broth was warm, flavorful, and refreshing. The initial notes are the sweetness of onions and bell peppers, followed by the delicate aroma of cilantro, leaving a clean taste impression. The whitefish fillets are tender and flavorful, yet still retain a subtle chewiness. The Pirão sauce, made with the fish broth and tapioca starch, was rich and thick, enhancing both the saltiness and umami, even reminiscent of Cantonese style abalone sauce. The two flavors were distinct yet complementary, a true delight with rice--though fresh, higher-quality Thai jasmine rice would be better. The earthenware pot, bearing the marks of time, kept the food warm; the portion was also very generous, perfect for sharing. I ended up taking some home for a second meal. Flan: Although I was quite full, the deliciousness of the moqueca piqued my interest in trying dessert. The pudding had a smooth and delicate texture, unlike the often sticky flaky texture of supermarket flans. The egg flavor wasn't strong, while the caramel syrup was rich and smooth, with an irresistible initial bitterness followed by a delightful sweetness. Plus, the syrup was generous, making it wonderful to coat every slice of cake in it. No wonder it's their signature dessert. Hot Sauce: The homemade hot sauce was highly recommended by my server. It didn't look very spicy, but it was far beyond my tolerance. However, I must admit it was incredibly delicious, with a refreshing citrus flavor and a smooth, emulsified texture alongside the spiciness, creating a very rich flavor profile. Being unable to handle spice is a real shame in its presence. The server's movements were elegant, the service attentive, the pace comfortable, and he satisfied some of my curiosity as a cuisine lover.

We ordered the following: - fish tacos (3) - flavor wise this fell flat for me. No punch of seasoning to the fish personally. - Birria tacos combo - fire combo. I just love birria style tacos. Highlight for me hot and well cooked beef, tender. - Birria chimichanga (2) this is hefty, i thought this was a good chimichanga, i would probably ask for extra sauce next go around, it got a bit dry without it. - carne asada enchiladas, the lady enjoyed this, carne was moist and tender. - pork belly & yuca loved the pork belly originally thought it was more like a chicharron dish but enjoyed this style , the yuca wasn't my jam. - tajin elote (2) love tajin elotes so no complaints! - churro espresso Great spot, great service.

This is what we ordered when we visited: - fish tacos (3) - Birria tacos combo - Birria chimichanga (2) - carne asada enchiladas - pork belly & yuca - tajin elote (2) - churro espresso martini Everything was very good! I would probably skip on the fish tacos next time just because it wasn't really my thing but everything else was tasty. The Birria tacos and Birria chimichanga were out of this world... my favorites out of everything we ordered. Very flavorful and generous portion sizes. Honestly we ordered way more than we could eat lol but they made for the best leftovers the next day. We were able to walk-in without reservations for a table of 3 & service is very quick and efficient!! Food came quick and pipin' hot! Would definitely come back again & I highly recommend. This place is right in the Kendall Square area, an easy walk from all of the tech companies. 10 piece fried chicken - Chicken was decent sized and definitely not bulk ordered chicken. This was marinated and spiced in-house. It had good strong flavor, with a hint of ginger that stood out. I think it's ginger, at least. Enjoyable, not dry at all. I would get it again. Chicken cheese patties - they were dry and not that cheesy at all. This saddens me as the place prior to them opening served the best chicken cheese patties in the area. Chicharron - Kind of over cooked and dry. The skin is definitely crispy - almost to a fault as most were too hard to enjoyably bite into. The dryness was the worse. Plaintains were okay, tasted more like potatoes but I think thats how they are supposed to taste anyways. Service was good. Checkout was easy with tap-to-pay. The place looks clean and had 2 or 3 small tables inside.

I ordered many things off their menu from their stewed beef, stewed chicken, the empanadas, etc. The staff there are really nice and the space is always clean. Every time I am pleased with their food. Recently I tried their oxtail and my only critique is that they need to let them cook longer to get tender. Some pieces were a bit tough but there was one piece I had to throw away because it was extremely tough. Once they make the oxtail more tender? GAME OVER! Overall I love this place!
