This place is very nicely decorated and has a variety of seating options by the bar and in a separate dining area .The start was a very refreshing pineapple martini (and my dinner mate hates pineapple and ordered because it doesn't have a strong pineapple flavor and is delish). The bread is a brioche style with an oil based dip that was tasty. Shane, our waiter did not assist with the menu and it was my first time but he did not ask any questions or mention specials and never came back to check on our food and it was not busy. Even though I ordered a filet that was perfectly cooked and the lobster stuffed shrimp was full of flavor it's always nice to be asked if you've been here before or would like any menu suggestions. Bonefish is always on par, anytime I've been there. Never had a bad experience! Some of their items are a little pricey, but I've always been satisfied. Feels like an upscale environment, great dining room, so plan your dress accordingly unless you're sitting in the bar area I suppose. Parking is a little bit of a challenge, as it's shared between several businesses. The outdoor seating is a good option on those nice weather days. Moved to a table and the next round took over 20 minutes... What you also need to know our reservation was for 4:30 PM so yes the whole restaurant including the bar was about 20 people... Ordered Two orders of bang-bang shrimp, we got One order in 15 min the second 15 minutes after that... It gets worse... Bonefish in Vero always has a good ambience and good selection on the menu at a fair price. There is a nice outside patio overlooking a small man-made pond. They have a special called Bang Bang Shrimp which is tossed in a Thai Chili Pepper type sauce. we stopped in for a late lunch today. Ashley was our server and she was great! friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. My husband ordered fish and chips and he loved it! I ordered a lobster tail with garlic whipped potatoes and slaw. The lobster tail was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful, the garlic whipped potatoes were fantastic. House salad with shrimp was tiny and wilted. Bang Bang shrimp was bland. Entree was the burger (OK not the best choice at a seafood restaurant). Well, it's always pleasant to be greeted by teenagers sporting nose rings who apparently haven't washed themselves for days. Mmm, appetizing. We arrived at five minutes after six in order to have happy hour. I did see that there are poor reviews for Bonefish but we were hungry and it was in our proximity. Ahhhh no. Nope. Aside from the aforementioned, it seems that it was extremely difficult to be seated outside. We were told that there wasn't a server working outside because of the heat. There are patrons out there, sitting at tables, and we saw a server scrambling about. Interesting. It took approximately 7 minutes for the aforementioned personage to return with that information. Our additional inquiry resulted in a blank stare. We opted then, for an interior high top. Another four minutes pass, then five minutes, then six minutes. At the 10 minute mark without even an acknowledgment, we hailed the attention of a passing server and asked if he knew if there was outside seating available. "Yes" he said, "that's my area you can sit there". Lovely. We picked up our menus and silverware, we didn't have water glasses to pick up so at least there was that, and we went outside. Happy hour ends at 6:30. As I stated we arrived at 6:05. 6:25 and we were still sitting outside with no acknowledgment. I saw the waiter we had spoken to a couple of times, poor guy, Kudos to him. He needs to go somewhere where he's appreciated. He was running his ass off. Lordy. In any case, there's a term called "useful idiots". You may have heard of it. Useful does not apply here. ‍. Obviously poor management, untrained staff, and zero protocol or problem solving capacity in place for busy times. I would not suggest Bonefish for those reasons. Can't comment on food. Or even the water. Maybe I'm sounding like too much of a judgmental poop, I will say the person with the bullring was certainly nice, just wouldn't know what to do with a hammer. We ended up driving the four minutes to Ocean Grill, it's rocking on a Friday night, we were greeted with smiles and graciousness from all the staff we encountered from the moment we walked in the crowded door. I had made a reservation because sometimes I'm Type A and need a back up for the plans we make-- and I'm so glad I did. While everyone else's drink looked good, mine was my absolute favorite-- the best Moscow Mule I had with candied ginger as a garnish. I am 99% sure that the candied ginger was what made it so delicious but overall, a great drink choice. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass (small) and our server was kind enough to let me sample all 5 sauces to decide which I liked best. My friends ordered the Thermidor Gnocchi and the Blackened Salmon Pasta. The Thermidor Gnocchi and Chilean Sea Bass literally had me visit Bonefish Grill two more times since my initial visit. The restaurant was clean and we were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and efficient; however, the turnaround time for our meals could have been much better. There were three of us and our meals came out as ordered with no discrepancies. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos and these looked amazing! Think bang bang shrimp taco style! The portion was very generous. My other friend ordered a shrimp Caesar salad. Her shrimp were grilled and looked very succulent. I ordered one of the evening specials: Rhea's salmon with lump crab meat and two sides. The salmon was good, but there was nothing desirable about the crab meat. Not to mention it was a minuscule amount. I omitted the lime garlic tomato sauce and opted for Pan Asian on the side. The sautéed spinach was excellent and I paired my meal with cilantro flavored jasmine rice and green beans without butter. I very rarely eat white rice, this one was worth every bite! The beans were slightly cold, but I didn't mention it because I was very hungry and it wasn't the end of the world. Let me preface this review by saying the service was excellent. Waiter and manager both went beyond to make up for the extremely poor food at this location in Vero Beach. We have been fans of bonefish since we lived in Maryland and frequented the one in Belair Maryland, and also on the Concord Pike in Wilmington, Delaware. We were really excited about the new menu when we tried out the seafood imperial dip in August. It was wonderful when we got it up north creamy and cheesy and full of seafood and it had a wonderful flavor when we went to this location it was dried out terribly ha ha cooked topped with some kind of crumbs that were extremely salty, so I wasn't surprised when the bang bang shrimp was also sub par! Saturday, February 18th, 2023 reservation 4:45pm party of 4 - duo birthday celebration Tight busy private parking lot, immediately greeted and seated, served by Connor, received our drinks straight away, bit of a wait for the bread as they said it was being baked by a few people, received our appetizers Bang Bang Spring & Imperial Dip which were fantastically delicious, 4 entrees that were the perfect portion, temperature and tasting (hats off to the chef) consisting of 2 fish & chips, perfect pairing mahi mahi & shrimp and signature pasta with shrimp which we all devoured. The timing of drink refills and replacement baked bread were lagging and needs to be tightened up and some tension amongst the staff that shouldn't be displayed on the dining floor amongst guests which Connor handled like a true respectful professional as the mannered gentleman that he is (can't say much for that young short blonde girl with ponytail in black) but other than that Connor did his thing and we enjoyed everything we ordered. First time at a Bonefish Grill for me! We were seated instantly, in a booth, and the cute waitress was quickly there with bread and olive oil w herbs. I understand this is a chain, so I suppose the layout and decor is standard. I found it nicely appointed, lighting was perfect, noise, vibe everything was inviting, pleasant and nice! We ordered artichoke hearts in bang sauce to start. Served on a bed of shredded lettuce, they were zesty and delicious. She had the salmon on a plank that she loved. I had cod imperial which along w the cod had a couple scallops topped with a butter and capers sauce. It was cooked perfectly, it was a perfect portion and along with the vibe of the place, the spinach and fries sides, and a beer, was among one of the best dinners I've had in a long time! She noted her pineapple martini hit the spot and agreed her dinner was equally spectacular! Im glad we finally made it into a Bonefish Grill.
