Had a great experience here with my family. There were lots of pictures of celebrities that seemed to have eaten here which was cool. Had some fried clams and conch bites which were real good. Had shrimp parmesan which I never had before or knew was an actual dish lol but it was delicious. There was some live music playing outside too. Really gave this place a chance. Really. Not our usual area to dine at but we wanted to try something new. I bypassed the musty carpet odor and decided to judge based on food. Drink menu was confusing as they only list the large drinks on menu - buckets or goblets- but They have a full bar to make anything. I ordered a regular pina colada, and it came in a pint glass. Was charged the $17 goblet price. Served told me it's the same. Pint glass holds 16oz, goblet holds 18oz. Not the same. Started with appetizer of grouper fingers and we decided dinner ended. Batter was not seasoned, forgot tartar sauce, and they threw wilted tiny piece of lettuce on platter. Please don't do that. The lettuce will not justify the price. We didn't want to take any chances spending money on a dinner that was going to be mediocre based on the appetizer, and decided to dine elsewhere. We really gave it a chance though. We have been going weekly to this awesome neighborhood hot spot for 2 months. We have been impressed with the seafood dishes, but even more blown away by the service and friendliness of the staff! They have a fun happy hour everyday until 5 pm with drink specials and food specials. The Tuna poke on happy hour is most amazing! They have seating overlooking the inlet/river, and a fun bar area filled with lots of locals! We love this place and hope you will enjoy just as much! read more

The food was OK, but not exceptional, especially for the premium price. But the bigger issue for me is they completely misled us and were unapologetic about it. On their own web site (not a third party -- their own) they state "HAPPY HOUR EVERY DAY 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM" (emphasis theirs), and they show a more reasonably priced happy hour menu. We were seated at 5:25 and asked about the menu and were told that it now ends at 5pm. When confronted with the fact that it was advertised until 6pm on their own web site, the server just shrugged and said "yeah, they need to change that." At this point we were already seated and hungry, so we just stayed, but this is terrible customer service. Honor your published times and pricing, or don't publish it. We were on a mini vacation and decided to visit Hutchinson Island area for some fishing, meals, and relaxation. We found this spot and started with calamari and shucked oysters. Both were prepared well--the calamari was tender and cooked nicely, though the portion of sauce was too small. Flavor and texture was a clean wonderful taste with a nice layer of crispiness on the bite. It was cooked very well. The oysters were fresh with a pleasant ocean brininess. A few had a slight grit, but that's expected with shucked oysters on the half shell. The big miss was no mignonette sauce, which I usually enjoy for a touch of acidity--especially from a seafood restaurant serving oysters. For my entrée, I went with the hamburger to make this a surf and turf experience. The burger was cooked perfectly to medium, well-seasoned, and moist. However, it lacked the fat content I expect for a rich beefy flavor, and the absence of a house-made or any sauce was disappointing. Fresh tomato, lettuce, and onions were provided, but the onions would've been better with a char or caramelization for added depth. My wife ordered the house salad, rice, and peel-and-eat shrimps, which came out cold. They were cooked perfectly and paired nicely with the warm drawn butter, but I'm not sure if hot peel and eat shrimps were even an option. One odd moment, we were seated, then asked to move while eating one of our appetizers. Apparently a party booked a reservation and they needed to combine our table with another. It wasn't a huge deal, but it felt unusual. That said, our server was very attentive, and the atmosphere was great, which made the evening more enjoyable. Is this common in this area, credit card fees are added to the bill. While the charge is disclosed, I personally feel merchants should absorb this cost rather than pass it on to customers. Credit card companies have charged merchants these fees since credit cards were first introduced, and in most industries outside of food service, merchants don't pass them along to the customer. read more

Sometimes you can go back. I've been going to Chuck's since 1988. They've survived a hurricane or two, and Saturday night delivered fried shrimp every bit as good as I remembered. The conch chowder was good and spicy, the oysters were fresh, and those fried shrimp big and perfectly fried without being greasy or heavy. Our Young server, John, was very good and funny. In the ambience heating right outside on the water is hard to beat for a casual place. Highly recommend it. read more

Totally worth the drive up A1A for amazing service, food, and views. Our group of 7 ordered apps, raw bar, and mains. Let's just say the fried shrimp app is incredible, the Miami Vice soup wow, super fresh east coast oysters, and a giant stuffed Florida lobster tail that is worth a drive from anywhere in the USA. Peter didn't care how uncomfortable the outside customers were as long as the inside customers had a good view. The clear outside panels were down (which you could see through) when we got there but he came outside & raised them even though we asked him not to because how windy it was. We were looking for a well-established local seafood spot and Chuck's Seafood was on the top of the list. This was a blast! It's situated right off of Indian River Lagoon with beautiful scenery. Indoors gives it a nice, old-time vibe. We went with the outdoor spot overlooking the lagoon with live music and a few rounds of Cornhole until the entrees arrived. We went with the waitress recommendation and got mahi mahi and grouper with 2 sides -- vegetables and parsley potatoes. Both the grouper and mahi were pure and simple deliciousness. read more

We had a VERY rude manager- Debbie- , long black hair female, who refused to make our poor service experience better after we complained about a long wait after appetizers were finished. She rudely took an extra meal away from the table that had been delivered, when a pair of friends who were sharing a skewer dinner brought this to her attention- making them feel like they had done something wrong . When questioned on why, she said because they didn't order it. We asked how she could make some type of compensation for the poor dining experience- she refused to offer anything. Had a redfish stuffed w/crab & topped with a hollandaise type sauce. Cooked perfectly. Asparagus was as well. My other two guests had clam strips and a salmon salad. All three meals were fantastic. Went to Chucks for the first time. Debbie met us at the door and asked where we would like to sit. We explained that it was our first time. She took the time to show us all around and explained each section. We choose to eat outside on the porch area. We had a sweet waitress named Ella. She took great care of us. The food was great. We shared an appetizer of calamari and had the grouper basket that was on the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious and the happy hour prices and portions were a great deal. We visit a lot of places similar from living in Fl. The overall setting was nice and I would recommend if in the area, especially at sunset. The filet mignon was fantastic. Complimentary hush puppies for each table was nice as well. Service started slow but picked up with very attentive and friendly bussers. Had another great birthday dinner at Chuck's Seafood in Ft. Pierce! It was Chuck's birthday and the bar was full of those celebrating his so we sat on the outside for the river/sunset view. Our server Gary gave us excellent service and we enjoyed his presentation of the special offerings and was quick to answer our questions on those MP/Market Price questions. The food was good but we really appreciated the service and ambiance Chuck's restaurant offers. Gary did offer desserts but we were topped off and Thanked him for his birthday wishes, got to wish Peter a Happy Birthday as well when leaving and had fully belly's and big smiles when we left! This is a great restaurant, with excellent food and a spectacular location. My problem is during my last 5 visits the food is delivered to the table with excessive amounts of time between each guest being served. Last night, for example, 3 of the members of my party ate their entire appetizer and soup before I received my appetizer. Then the 4 of us receive our dinner 10:to 20 minutes apart from each other. They just don't get the concept that a party that arrives together, orders together wants to eat together. For the price you pay, serve the damn meals together. Also, these drunken men show up at your table drooling never introducing themselves to speak of specials. Keep yourself and your booze breathe to yourself and let the wait staff, which is very good, to discuss the specials with customers. Try harder, educate the kitchen staff, keep prices steady and try to do something about the bad parking. read more

I went here with my sister for a drink and a few appetizers. The location is amazing on the intercostal, all the staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We started off with a Long Island Ice Tea and Pina Colada. Both very good. For appetizers we had the Conch chowder ( very good) and the Clam Chowder ( okay, but we are from the Boston area so very picky). I also had the Conch Fritters, very good. Service was VERY slow. Server kept apologizing, but never offered a reason for the problem. After 6 apologizes, it seemed insincere. Food came out cold, which really hindered the flavor. I grew up near Chuck's, but somehow missed the experience. A BFF of 43 years also grew up in the area, and he spent many visits here with his family, so when I came to town, off we went! Tasty drinks, major hush puppies, serious fried shrimp, and parsley potatoes rounded out my dinner. All fresh, all delicious! I'm sorry I missed out on this all those years! I grew up here and I've always loved Chuck's seafood since the old days. I had a friend in town from Sweden and we went there for dinner. It's after Easter so it wasn't so packed as it usually is. Nobody was sitting at the bar, which was very unusual. It was about 630 at night General dinner time but instead of waiting for a table we just decided to sit at the bar since it was completely empty. It took 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that we were there. Then it took another five minutes to get the actual bartender over to us. He asked us what we'd like to drink, but never offered us a menu. He proceeded to make our drinks and we asked him about getting an appetizer. Abruptly, he said, what would you like and I had to ask him for a menu.. Then he walked away for 20 minutes after we ordered the crabcake app. The food server brought the crabcake out and set it on the counter, but we still didn't have any silverware. David, the bartender finally came over and my guest wanted to order a glass of wine and dinner. We ordered two king crab dinners. The market price was never quoted to us. And he must've assumed that we were only ordering one dinner and we had to correct him that no in fact, we wanted two of them. We ordered salads and rice just to make it easy Since we had been there for nearly an hour already and hadn't ordered dinner. The salads came out and promptly the dinners came right behind them rather quickly and once again, David, the bartender was gone, nowhere to be found. My guest wanted extra bread rolls. We finally got them when we were more than halfway done with our dinner. Then my guest ordered scotch and I was not even asked if I would like something else. I had to wait another 10 minutes till I could finally catch his attention and tell him that I would like a rum with ice. And once again, David disappeared for at least a half an hour after that. I had to stop him and ask him to please remove the plates so we could sip on our drinks. Still nobody at the bar but us the whole time. It was one of the worst server experiences I've ever had and as a previous bartender and server myself, I was absolutely embarrassed that I had recommended the place so highly and that was the service that we received. On another note, the bus boy greeted us three separate occasions, when we first arrived, he said enjoy your dinner, after our dinner he came back by and asked if we enjoyed what you had for dinner. And then before we left, he told us to have a good night. I think the bartender David should be the bus boy and the bus boy whatever his name is, should be the bartender. It was very disappointing. The food was good as usual, but the service ruined the whole evening and to top it all off the crab dinner Was $140 each. The bill came to a total of $500. If it's gonna be that expensive, I do expect much better service than that. We could've gone anywhere on the island to eat and had better service than that. I know a few of the waiters and waitresses, one is a neighbor. You never know who you're serving is what I was taught. I have never in my life left a review but that bs warrants one. I gave two stars one for the food and one for the bus boy. read more

Stopped in for breakfast with a friend. Parking was plentiful. We stopped inside the bar and they said we could sit inside or outside along the water. Now that it's fall, outside was perfect! There were a few other customers but by 10am the place was filling up! Two waitresses and a busser were working the patio. We never felt rushed. I had the crab cake Benedict and was surprised they asked how I wanted my egg! My friend had the chorizo egg avocado sandwich and they offered her the sandwich on toast or a bagel (cheese, plain, everything). Both dishes came with a side of potatoes which was not expected. I stuck with water but my friend had the Bloody Mary, spicy. There's a loaded bloody that comes with grilled shrimp for only $2 more. Prices were very reasonable, borderline cheap. My Benedict was filling. It was only one crab cake and one egg, but it was only $13! My friend's bagel sando which was enormous was only $11! So I'd say for breakfast they could totally charge more. Maybe that's standard for the area? But prices would be higher in Orlando. The breakfast menu- see my pics - is minimal but there is something for everyone. I would eat here again. Good service. I was excited to check this place out as we just moved up this way. Sad to say Chuck's let me down. We arrived at around 11:30ish and were sat. It was 15 mins before a server came over to help and was sorry we hadn't been taken care of as multiple servers had passed our table. She promptly got us drinks and took our order. I did not see her again until I had to ask another server to track down our check. The lack of service really took away from the good food and gorgeous view. We sat for over 15 minutes after being seated and were not served, not even a glass of water. We weren't the only ones who were ignored. The people behind us were there even less time before they walked out. I also saw a man who was sitting outside who approached a waitress to complain his table had not been served. We handed our menu back to the hostess as we left and told her why we were leaving. She said they were crowded. The outside was pretty full but there were plenty of tables inside where we were seated and in the bar area. I could excuse crowdedness but not even a glass water or even any acknowledgment from the staff that we were there makes this excuse not credible. We were not alone in this situation. If you do go and get served, I hope the food is fantastic but for us, never again. read more
