Nice, easy spot for good food at Thirsty Turtle! They're known for their wings and offer mild, medium, and hot sauces. You can also get the sauces on their chicken sandwich or tenders if you prefer. I ordered the chicken wrap with the medium sauce, and it was really yummy! The fries were nice and crispy, too. The service was friendly, and they have a good beer selection. Came to Thirsty Turtle on a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but was glad they closed late as everything around town closes early. We sat at the bar and Quez was our server/bar tender. He was amazing. Very attentive and helpful. Made the best drinks. I like that there's a restaurant part to it and a bar area with seating as well. The place was clean. We had dinner here with family. They had chosen the location. We sat at the back bar area as the front was quite busy and also nosy -- with the live music. Although it's mainly a seafood place, most of us had their burgers. They were pretty good -- the best of the lot was the black and blue -- with blue cheese and bacon. I'd switched from fries to red bliss potatoes which were a bit bland -- just plain boiled potatoes. A bit of butter helped, but not much. The parking was challenging, but we did find a street side place out front. This is a busy area with many restaurants and shops. Inside, it's a casual spot. So actually, it was good for the group who had just come from a baseball game and were quite dressed down. We had good and friendly service. I will say that the bar drinks -- like the margarita were awful -- but the bottled drinks were fine. I'm glad we came to try them, but it's not a place that my husband and I would run back to -- if not with family including kids. read more

On Christmas Eve, they said on the phone they close at 7pm when I called around 545 showed up around 615. They said they can't see us because the kitchen is backed up told me we aren't taking any orders anymore, even though they're not closed for another 45 minutes, showed up with my family and my two year and nine day old son normal tradition since he was born !!!! They refused to seat me in the front so I walked to the bartender in the back. She sat us and told us we just need to order soon because they're gonna close in a little while then all of a sudden they told us nope we can't order again and kicked us out and as we walked out the front we saw three tables That just got there and they were just ordering at the time we were walking out . as I walked by their tables with the same waitress that said she can't service us and we had to leave. just getting around to this but i came in here a couple weeks ago with some friends, ordered a burger, mind you the server was very inattentive, never came to check on us after we got our food which took forever (the restaurant was pretty empty) and after a few bites of my burger i look because something didn't taste right and sure enough... it was raw. quite literally on the grill for maybe two minutes. i told my server to look at the mooing plate of cow meat on the corner of the table that was staring back. now of course my appetite was completely ruined, but all she did was take it off the bill. no apology, no nothing just took it off and handed us the bill. i've heard plenty of bad things about this place from many people and now ive experienced it first hand and will never come here again. read more

Friday night at 6:00 and only 4 tables and 12 people. We were seated promptly but it went down hill from there. Sat at table for 10 min with no server. Had to go to bar to ask for drinks. 5 min later we get a server and order. Food came 15 min later. Half was cold half was hot. Fried oysters were cold with no sauce. Scallops were hot Server never came back so I walked behind server station to get hot sauce. Server finally came and ask we needed anything. So far so good until: There are now "credit card fees" that new management charges and it appears to be a percentage of your bill before tip. I always use an airline card for dining, as I earn travel rewards by doing so. The premise of charging a % before tip to use a card is absurd, and it's more than they pay the CC company for running my card once. Their menu & "market" prices have also increased. As a legacy customer of over a decade having dined here over 50+ times the new manager refused to take the CC fee off my bill as a one-time courtesy. "You don't have to come back here if you don't want to" was what was said by the manager on duty. I paid the fee and will not return. read more

Meh American / Seafood Cal it 1.5 stars Hit the Turtle up before a recent show over at the Sunrise Theater and it was just a complete "meh" kind of meal. Hostess got us seated and the waitress got us going with drinks and menus - so far, so good. Drinks came out quick and then things slowed down dramatically. Waitress finally came back around - not that she was missing the entire time, it was just that she worked one table at a time and never looked up. In other words, she went to a table, took whatever order, then marched directly back to her station. Wash, rinse, repeat. She finally got back to us and we ordered food: nothing too obscure. Fish & chips and a salad with a fish dip app. Gone again for 20 mins. Food comes out - no app in sight. Who cares, we have to be elsewhere. Fish & chips was just terrible. Turns out you get two sides with fish & chips... so if you do not choose "chips" you get fish and two sides. Seems a bit odd considering "chips" is part of the dish. In any case, coleslaw was flavorless. Fries were decent and of the two pieces of fish that came out, one was good and the other was like a reheated pile of rubber. It literally looked like it was recycled from another dinner. Salad turned out a bit better to be fair. Finally flagged down waitress, got check and yup: fish dip is on the check. I explained that it never came out - she had no clue. She did fix the check and we got on our way. With all the different dining options in Fort Pierce lately, there really is no particular reason to hit the Thirsty Turtle. Doubt we would return. Parking on the street or town lots. read more

I was in a group of 20 for lunch today and we all had a good time. Our server was unbelievable and on top of the orders and the drinks. I did ask her name, but I'm sorry to say I can't remember it. Names are tricky, but so important. She was wonderful. I ordered the Mexican salad which looked so unappetizing due to the cook smashing up tortilla chips and spreading them around the edge of the dish. You know, the dregs at the bottom of the bag. I would seriously recommend tortilla strips garnishing the salad. The salad itself was good and I'm thinking roasted corn kernels would be a great addition. First time there. Lots of big screens to watch sports. Menu has lots of variety. Chicken wings were very good. I had fried clams with bacon jalapeño Mac and cheese(excellent )and coleslaw. My experience with thirsty turtle started out a sour note but did improve! I called the restaurant to ask about a wait for a large party, 8 guests, I was quoted 45-55 minutes. We decided to head downtown anyway as there were multiple restaurants. We tried to walk into thirsty turtle and were shocked to see so many empty tables!! We had virtually no wait. I had a hard time understanding why they would turn guests away! Moral of the story- you might want to pop in and not call. When our waitress first greeted us, she let us know they were out of more than a few appetizers. I enjoyed the options on the cocktail menu and ordered a rum punch. They have a ton of beer options. My friend attempted to order a drink but the waitress dissuaded her by saying it tasted like medicine and she should try something else. Nothing special. The conch chowder is basically chili with a few small pieces of conch. The mahi was okay, but a bit limp and low on flavor. Worse, unacceptably so, was the guacamole. The menu says fresh guacamole, but when served it had a brown tinge - clearly not fresh. The waitress said it was made fresh yesterday. If they can't be bothered to make fresh guac, it makes one wonder if they're actually serving fresh fish. We won't be back. read more

Great new addition to the downtown Ft. Pierce scene. Their opening timing was unfortunate in that it fell in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The layout is great- good energy and plenty of TV's. The bar is a unique lay out where its really sort of a service bar/show kitchen which was a good option for the space they had to work with. There is also a bar outside that allows for views over to the marina. The menu is pretty standard and this being our first visit we only had a few drinks so can't comment on the food. We will definitely be back and wish the proprietor all the best under these challenging times. read more

I am a 50 year old mother of 4 college aged students. I consider myself an extremely responsible person. Today after work, I invited a few of my coworkers out for dinner at The Thirsty Turtle. I arrived at 5:15pm and drank 4 draft beers with appetizers and a full dinner. The time down was between 5:15 and 8:30pm when our waitress embarrassed me and cut me off refusing to serve me another beer because we were laughing and having a great time after a difficult day at work. We laughed further due to the ridiculousness after being cut off after only 4 beers. As we left, I spoke to the manager who seemed to be in agreement that the waitress perhaps made an immature judgement call, yet said he supports any call a server makes in this case even when they are probably wrong. Good for them. We won't be back. I need to be able to drink more than 4 beers when having a nice dinner out. Call me crazy, but I do. read more

We have been there several times. I just wanted to compliment Rocky!!! She is very personable and attentive!! Top notch customer service always and with everyone !!Great job!!. Scallop Cobb salad is very tasty as is the tuna salad!! The fried mushrooms are also a hit with me and my husband. The only constructive criticism is sometimes the chicken stingers are a little dry. We've been coming here for at least once maybe twice a week for wings since they opened. They've always been decent wings and their sauce is addicting. It's really one of the best we have had. The wings however, have gone down hill to the point that we received wings the size of my thumb. They have holes in them, dark spots and hardly any meat. It's ridiculous and embarrassing that we paid for such horrendous food and that we keep continuing to do it as it continues to go downhill. I haven't eaten there in two months because of the terrible wing condition but I'm writing this review tonight because my husband's wings are ridiculously tiny and not edible.
