I am kinda picky when it comes to seafood. Fishy fish is a no for me. I love a really white flaky buttery fish that doesn't taste fishy. So upon coming here, I generally ask the waiter/waitress for what will deliver this request the best at the time because the menu changes seasonally. This go around it was Alaskan Sea Bass. I loved it! Ordered with a lemon butter sauce, it was perfectly seasoned. Got the Au Gratin Potatoes. They were ever so slightly crunchy. Not my favorite. Hubby's mashed potatoes were better. And his broccoli was super buttery and perfect. I also ordered the Brussels Sprouts. They were DIVINE!! I could just go eat that and the bread... I really LOVE their bread! It was ok. We hit it at the wrong time of day. Somewhere between lunch and dinner. Minimal staff so everything was slow. From water to tea to meal. And the appetizer came after the meal. Shrimp was questionable left half of the meal in the plate. Normally they as if some thing is wrong but I gave up when they never came back except to give me the check. I did get a tea to go so yea for that. Close during lunch and dinner if you are not going to provide the same level of service that you do during the rush hours. You are really doing your chain a disservice. Now I don't want to tempt visiting again even during the dinner or lunch hour. I might have to for the bang bang shrimp. Hubby belongs to the dining club that includes Bonefish and he gets all sorts of offers via email. Recently Bonefish rolled out a dinner for 2 for only $49 so we decided to give this location another try. It had been years since we visited. Right from the start we could feel the difference in the "vibe" of the restaurant. Servers were happily greeting their tables and helping diners select food and wine. The place was packed with a 10-20 minute wait. Hubby had the forethought to make a reservation, so we were seated quickly! Lex was our server and she is a gem! Originally from Canada, she accompanied her parents to the Port City when her dad retired here. Lucky us, because her knowledge of food and wine was outstanding. She has 8 years of waiter experience and it showed! So on to the dinner...The first course was the famous Bang-Bang Shrimp and the serving portion was overflowing. We were shocked that it was a full size appetizer. We had already started chowing down on the warm bread and olive oil dipping sauce (excellent by the way) and then the app arrived. The next course was salad and we both opted for the Caesar and it was fine. You could have the house salad if you prefer with this offer. We are fans of Caesars so it was a natural choice for us. Now on to the main event...we enjoyed four seafood selections, yes I said 4! Salmon, Cobia, Swordfish, Shrimp & Scallops. Each was prepared with an accompanying sauce. The dinner included three side, yes I said 3 - jasmine rice (my fav), broccoli and potatoes au gratin. Everything was wonderful. The salmon was particularly good! Wait, there is more! They also are offering $25 dollar bottles of wine and much to my surprise and delight my favorite, Malbec, the Broquel was on the list! Hubby is a huge fan of creme brulee so we finished the meal with a dish of deliciousness! Wonderful experience and in fact, we are going back next week for a sampling event they are putting on! In the past, I had been satisfied with the quality of the food and the service at Bonefish. So I was surprised by today's disappointing experience. Although I was seated quickly, it was over 7 minutes before I saw my server. I ordered the snow crab legs and the server (or the kitchen?) forgot to include the cracker tool. It took me a while to get her attention to request one. And if you're assuming that she might have been overwhelmed with a lot of guests, she only had 3 tables. As for the crab legs, the only way I can describe them is "soggy", so they were overcooked. It was difficult to retrieve the meat since the shells would bend rather than crack open. I ordered a piece of key lime cake to take home, only to find that the cake part was a bit stale. Overall, a disappointing afternoon dining experience. read more

We have orders from Bonefish many times but tonight our food was terrible. We ordered the family meal, Cajun pasta with shrimp, side of mash potatoes and boom boom shrimp. We have ordered this before and it came large enough portions to feed 4-5 people as it states. Tonight, not the same. The salad was smalllike a side salad not large and in the big tin tray as previous order. Same for the pasta. The pasta also was not the same. Blan no taste and watery. I don't review chains, however Bonefish is one of the few chains we have that is worth going to occasionally. Or they were. Not sure of the reason they have continued to go downhill, but over the last several times (spaced out since we rather opt to eat local) they have been consistently bad with quality, presentation, flavor. No rhyme or reason for it so maybe different management, or maybe it's the way of chains as all the others seem to eventually suffer the same fate. We stopped going long before covid but sure miss having them as an option in an area of town where nicer-dining is nonexistent. read more

The sirloin was so bad yall. I'm not picky at all but it was horrible. I asked for medium and it was burnt on the outside and red cold and raw in the middle. Crab cake was so cold when it came out. I came in on a Wednesday at 4 so it wasn't busy there's no excuses. Our server never came back after dropping off our food so I just didn't eat. The boom shrimp was the only good part it was really good. Seriously the waitresses need more training. We were her only table and I couldn't even see her to even wave her down.... Bonefish is one of my favorites in West Mobile. I usually order the Salmon with Lemon Butter on the side and Mango Salsa on the side. I like the potatoes au gratin and green beans. Their house cabernet is on special during Happy Hour from 4 to 6 30 pm each evening. Their martinis are also excellent! The complimentary fresh bread with olive oil and pesto is amazing. For dessert, I recommend the brownie with ice cream or the coconut pie. I highly recommend joining the Dine Rewards program - on your 4th visit you get 50% off your bill up to $20 off. read more

I used a debit card at the Bone Fish on Airport in Mobile that I hadn't used in almost a year and haven't used since and my bank had to cancel my cards. Within 48 hours thousands of dollars had been charged to my card from stores in California, Florida & Louisiana. I called back to tell the manager to have his credit card terminal checked but he was "BUSY" and wouldn't come to the phone. Was supposed to call me back but never did. I had lunch today with a friend and enjoyed a great meal. The cod crusted with crab was delicious. It was topped with crabmeat and a butter sauce that was so good. It was a generous portion and had two sides. I ate every bite. My friend ordered the steak and crab cake. The waiter asked her to check to be sure her steak was cooked to her satisfaction while he waited. She did ask for it to be put back on the grill for a minute or two. Instead of taking the whole plate, he took just the steak so she could be eating the rest of her meal while she waited. I've never been to a restaurant where the waiter asked me to check that my steak was cooked properly. I either have to try waving them down or am stuck with how it's cooked. We have been there several times. It has always been an enjoyable experience but last night we were blown away! The food was great as usual. (Their macaroni is to die for! ). The restaurant was sparsely staffed but we were waited on in a pleasant and timely manner. Our waitress never let our glasses empty (which is a huge pet peeve of mine) and the atmosphere is always elegant, clean and inviting. Last night my friend and I went there for my birthday celebration. The waitress was awesome. The food not so much . She had a burger and the bun was burnt. I had the Cajun pasta. It was terrible. And added to all of that there was a group of probably 15 + people with small kids celebrating one of the kids birthday. The kids were unattended. The adults just let them do whatever they wanted. They were climbing on the table. One was sleep in the empty booth next to ours. Then there were 2 playing in the booth on the other side. Very loud !!Management or no one else working in the restaurant said anything. When we asked for the manager and told him all he said was I'm sorry. Never addressing issue with the group. The salad is served saturated in a champagne vinaigrette which I am sure is really sparkling wine vinaigrette since it's not from the Champagne Region of France. Either way, it too is good and mildly sweet which makes the leafy greens go down. See your waist shrinking? I don't either. The Tuesday special is a menache twois (three course) meal called ironically "hooked on Tuesday". It is Irony stop screwing around. Go ask Alanis! I stopped here for dinner a few weeks ago when I was traveling alone for work. I sat at the bar and received lovely service that was helpful and timely, but not too overbearing or intrusive. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon with the Pan Asian sauce, with grilled shrimp on the side topped with the Lime Tomato garlic sauce. For my sides, I got asparagus and potatoes au gratin. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the sauce on the salmon complemented it very well. The Lime Tomato sauce was good, but I don't think it matched well with the shrimp - the herb pesto or lemon butter probably would've been a better match. That being said, I ate every last bite on my plate. The ambience of the place struck me as a date-night kind of place (low light, light jazzy music), but you might be able to get away with a business dinner if you can find a part of the dining room that is lit up a bit more. Bonefish Grill ruined my niece' s Sweet 16 Birthday celebration! She opted to celebrate at Bonefish in hopes of having a classy and memorable dining experience and she walked away IN TEARS, totally devastated and embarrassed. I am extremely disappointed that our 7:30 reservation was negated because the 6:00 reservation came over an hour late. We arrived on time and was told that our party of 30 was basically out of luck. After haggling with the host and manager we were seated fragmentally an hour later. Our waitress was curt and rude: never an introduction, never a friendly exchange, we had to ask for menus and straws, then she rushed us to order! The worst part was her treating my brother as if he was trying to leave without paying and speaking to him in a very condescending manner. I'm not sure if her actions were rooted in being overwhelmed, in being tired, or in racial bigotry, but either way her actions were distasteful and offensive. I hope that no other human being will have to be subjected to her ignorance as she should be fired immediately. It took over an hour for our food to come out, which was cold, burnt, and inedible. Many members of our party never received portions of their meals and many refused to eat It because of the poor quality. The manager a short, soft spoken woman, discounted our meals and removed the awful waitress. The manager quickly resolved the problem. Then the hostess who sat us kept putting everything in front of the baby and I had to keep moving everything. So glad when she left!
