Food is so hot fresh and affordable. Nothing fancy but good food guaranteed. Don't judge it by the raggedy building.

We almost didn't stop because at a glance it looked like part of the convenience store but it's not. The decor isn't fancy, but the food is excellent. It is take out only. There is a clear plexiglass screen with an intercom that you place your order through and a cashier area where you pick up and pay for the food. We ordered some dinner plates and it was very good. The portions were good and everything was packaged well with condiments, forks and napkins. I had the crab cake with oysters. The crab cake was breaded and well seasoned. We were very happy with the quality of the food and the prices were also reasonable. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu. While in Mobile for work at the beginning of February, I wanted some fresh boiled crawfish. My coworker is a Mobile local and recommended here because Mudbugs was closed that day of the week, and other restaurants/markets were out. Ended up coming to this hole in the wall establishment twice in two days. The crawfish (since it was crawfish season, albeit just the beginning of it) were fresh and well seasoned and delicious. $6.50/lb for crawfish is a bit expensive but welcome to Biden's America I guess. The lady behind the counter was very sweet and nice. I would definitely go back and get crawfish and maybe even some shrimp from here. FYI the corn is doused in some weird fake butter and sprinkled with some spices, so it doesn't have the same Cajun boil taste as the crawfish does. Also this is a place you take it to go, there isn't really a place to eat and dine in. I would definitely come back for more crawfish when it's in season the next time I'm in town. read more

Do not believe the reviews that are highly rated. This is the worst seafood place that you can buy cooked seafood. The seafood do not have a taste. Both my husband and myself nearly vomited it was so bad. The boiled corn French fryers, oysters, catfish, and flounder was so horrible we trashed it after while trying to eat after I got home. The seafood was still hot. The reviews has to be from them or people they know. The taste os the seafood was greasy, and it had a old bad taste. Please do not ask them to cook anything for you. Came here to pick up so lunch, placed an order from their lunch special. I ordered a catfish platter with potato salad. How they battered it was done very well, doesn't flake off as easy off the fish which to me is a good thing. Potato salad was pretty good and the speed of service was also quick and good. read more

Best place to get a seafood po-boy in Mobile. I tried the catfish Po boy and it was amazing. Nice size portion, nice soft bread with fresh crisp vegetables. Staff was nice didn't take very long for my food to come out. Large po-boy with french fries was about $10. Will definitely be back to try the oyster po-boy. read more

Yep. About a three. Didnt buy fresh seafood but got the fried mullet and white trout with sides. It took a while since they filleted the fish on the spot. The end resut was ok, but nothing I would go back for. They are within 100 feet of Kravers. The seafood over there is about double the price, and IMO infinitely better. Still it was a good amount and did not suck. They only have a couple tables, and the fish market is right there, so a bit odd to me. Onward I search for the perfect meal... read more

I go here every once in a while for some takeout fast food seafood and it's usually pretty decent. Not real good but decent. I got some fish and my wife got some shrimp this afternoon and I guess the cook took a break and forgot his fryer because everything was waaaay overcooked. Everything was cooked to a dark brown crisp. Completely inedible. Since we don't live nearby it went in the trash. IF I ever go back (and that's a big IF) I will definitely look at it before I leave with it. Simple but well done. Cooked fresh when you order so there is a short wait, but definitely worth it. The prices a about average to slightly lower for the menu items and average for the fresh seafood. I enjoy the fish nuggets aka catfish and my daughter loves the popcorn shrimp, we get the lunch special that comes with fries, 2 hush puppies and I side of choice. (I like the potato salad and my daughter likes the coleslaw) Not much of a dine in place, 2 maybe 3 tables, to go seems the best option. Nothing fancy just really good food. read more

Best place on Cottage Hill to get fresh seafood if your not going fishing to catch your own for the day. We've been here numerous times throughout all the seasons and the catch is always fresh and well priced comparable to supermarkets. Why get fresh frozen at supermarkets when you can get fresh never frozen. They also have a restaurant and make lots of dishes and sandwiches. read more
