Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite rise to that level. The gumbo was below average--lacking depth and richness. The fried green tomatoes were decent, nothing special, and the fried okra (assuming that's what you meant) was pretty middle-of-the-road. The fried oyster po'boy had a lot of potential. The oysters themselves were fried perfectly--crispy on the outside, tender inside--but the bread just didn't deliver. For a po'boy, that French bread is critical, and when it misses, the whole sandwich suffers.
