Overhyped. We got the steamed combo, and the shrimp were basically inedible; they were overcooked, and you couldn't get the peels off! The flavor was pretty good, but I couldn't eat 60% of it. The kitchen was playing music, and it was just as loud as the regular dining room music. The tables were also sticky and low on everything. K & D Seafood is right by house. I've heard great things about this place but had never been. One reason I've hesitated is because I haven't been able to reach them for a takeout order. I usually do takeout orders because I don't like waiting in line when I walk in. I decided to ditch that to check them out. First off, I was right. When I got there the place was crowded and the line was practically out the door. I noticed there a couple people getting antsy waiting on their food. I didn't mind the wait. I kind of made peace with the wait. While I was waiting, two customers who were together asked for their money back and left. There was only one cashier working. There were two cash registers so one might have been broken. Anyway the cashier was very professional and handled the busyness very well. I ordered the Snow Crab box with Cajun Lemon Pepper. I was going to order the seafood steam box but once I saw the snow crab I had to try it. I believe I only waited about 25 minutes to get my food. When I got home I was starving. The food smelled so good. It tasted even better. Everything was cooked well. The potatoes were perfect. The corn was so delicious with the Cajun Lemon Pepper seasoning. Though the sausage link wasn't Conecuh it was still enjoyable. The shrimp had so much flavor. I don't remember the last time I had snow crab but I don't believe it was better than what I had here. I definitely want to come back. I'll give it 4 stars. The main reason is because while my experience was enjoyable it could've been better if there were more cashiers. I was in town and this place was recommended to me for seafood. It was late but I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Seafood Steam Box, garlic butter, spicy. The staff was great at taking my order and the wait wasn't that long for me to receive the order. The food looked and smelled amazing. The sausage, corn and potatoes were excellent. The shrimp was a bit of a different story. The shrimp were very difficult to peel; like they had been cooked too long or had been cooked previously and let sit then reheated for serving. The shells were stuck to the shrimp and many were mangled when I tried to peel them. I don't mind doing a little work when eating my food but this was a little excessive. Aside from that the food was awesome, the taste was off the hook! The staff was cleaning the store when I finished my meal but weren't too upset that I was the last customer out the door. If I hadn't had to work so hard to peel the shrimp it wouldn't have taken so long to eat. I'll probably give them one more chance and see how it goes; maybe their rating will go up. Maybe. read more

The customer service is off the charts. Young guys from the neighborhood are running this place right. You place your order, get number, and wait. Once called they open each box so you can check out your deliciousness. If it's a large order, they offer to walk it out for you. Now to the food, I got the crazy fries.
