    Bar at Bonefish Grill

My wife and I love Bonefish Grill! I know it's a chain restaurant, but we've always had a good experience whenever we go to one. On this visit, we didn't have a reservation, so we opted to sit at the bar. The bartender, Taylor, took our drinks and dinner order. He returned quickly with our drinks and a loaf of warm bread and a plate of oil for dipping. We sipped on our margaritas (which were mixed perfectly), and chatted while munching on the bread. Our dinners were brought to us quickly and we were pleased by the presentation and quality of our meals. I ordered the Sirloin Steak and Shrimp. It came with two sides. I chose mashed potatoes and coleslaw. My wife had the Spicy Tuna Bowl which she thoroughly enjoyed. Good restaurant with excellent service!

Lunch salmon with jasper rice and broccoli. Side of mango salsa.

Best service I have had in a restaurant in a while. Kayla was very polite and attentive. The jasmine rice was really very good. I don't eat rice often but this rice was outstanding. This restaurant doesn't have a separate lunch menu so expect to pay about $20+/pp. On a side note, we almost didn't go inside because the handicap access requires a bit of a walk. Up a ramp and around to the front of the building. There were a few handicap spots at the start of the ramp and fortunately they weren't full which allowed me to pull up and unload my dad. (No handicap plates)

So ...... We have always wanted to stop here for a late lunch or early dinner and we finally stopped ! We arrived around 3:00 and walked in and were cheerfully greeted by the hostess who seated us in the main dining area. The decor inside is really nice and the restraint was extremely clean and well presented. The menu selection was perfect ! Our server greeted us and was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable! We both ordered martinis and the Boom Boom Shrimp was absolutely outstanding with flavor and well presented. Our server was very aware of when we needed drinks, refills on water and so forth. Dinners were outstanding ... The Steak and Crab Cake combo was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The mashed potato's were killer and the Mac-n-cheese with bacon was spot on ! The fried fish was outstanding as well ! All the food came hot and well presented ... An extremely pleasurable dining experience ! Outstanding Staff & Food Looking forward to dining here again, very soon ....

Happy hour wine and holiday Cosmo! A great way to start our meal!

Bad move, as the place RAN OUT of crabs less than an hour after opening, all while we were already sitting through a two hour wait to be seated. We cut our losses and headed back to our area, zeroing in on Avery's as a plan B and hoping for the best. As always, they came through! We put our name on their convenient wait list and were seated within an hour after arriving. And NO SHORTAGE of crabs here! Mom enjoyed her feast and the margaritas were top notch (and powerful!) WELL DONE and THANK YOU for saving Mother's Day, Avery's! We will be back all summer!

I let our server know, and she was very kind and quick to offer a replacement, which I really appreciated. However, when the second steak came out it appeared grey on the inside and had a very unusual texture. It was grainy and fell apart very easily, almost as if it could be cut with a fork. The texture and color were concerning and made the steak difficult to enjoy. Unfortunately, after eating some of it I began feeling sick and ended up having to leave early. I'm not sure if the issue was with the quality or freshness of the meat, but it was a very disappointing experience. I do want to note that the seafood my family ordered was actually very good and everyone else enjoyed their meals. I would rate the seafood around an 8/10. That said, I hope the restaurant looks into the quality of the red meat being served so others don't have a similar experience.

A bit noisy for me to hear a conversation easily. The food was excellent. I tried the seafood jambalaya with had fish, scallops shrimp and spicy sausage with Cajun seasoning over brown rice. The fish was flaky and scallops and shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. I appreciated that the server made sure I understood that it was going to be spicy which it was but not unbearably so (I like mildly spicy to medium spicy). I loved the spinach crab dip appetizer. It was creamy and hot and delicious. The hushpuppies, of you are a hushpuppy fan were a must order. The arrived hot and very crisp coating with a moist interior. They come with a honey butter which really put them over the top. My spice got the grilled shrimp with shoestring potatoes. The shrimp were grilled perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Reservations are recommended for peak service times. There plenty of parking in the back if the lot in front is full.

I had a seltzer from RAK honey lavender quite tasty. The new management is trying to offer the local products and it's the right direction. I believe this place has lots of potential and I look forward to my next visit when I hope to give more stars.

The main dining room is absolutely gorgeous with the stonework and architecture. The bar area was very busy as we were on the tail end of their happy hour. Our server walked us through the menu. We started with the ravioli appetizer. It had shaved truffles on top and egg yolk covered in Parmesan cheese. They almost had a little crunch to them and the inside was filled with ricotta cheese. The sides are à la carte as is most of the menu. I ordered the tavern burger. It came with beef fat glaze among other spreads and was very well seasoned. The side of beef fat fries were also well seasoned and crispy. The best dish was the pot roast. It was so tender and the gravy was so flavorful. This paired perfect with their creamy mashed potatoes. The service was decent but the food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. They have a huge variety of cocktails and wine. It's a bit more formal Dining. It doesn't require a jacket or anything.

We received fantastic service from start to finish, from being seated right at our reservation time to our server answering our dietary needs questions to our dishes coming out in a timely and well-paced manner. Wye Oak's ambiance being set in a former church/religious institution is unique, providing an interesting ambiance. However, the food left much to be desired. While the presentation on every dish ranged from good to amazing, out of the seven dishes we shared only 1.5 of them were delicious. Some of the dishes were bland and one note; others were overcooked or overseasoned. We shared the following dishes: Coddies: While the cod was perfectly cooked and breaded, it had no flavor. The cauliflower tartar sauce added nothing to the dish; the cauliflower giardiniera at least added some nice crunch and acid. Savory Parmesan Cheesecake: The cheesecake had no flavor; the acid and freshness of the cherry tomatoes of the arugula pesto could not elevate or salvage this dish. Cheese Ravioli: By far the best dish of the evening. The ravioli tasted fresh, were nicely cooked, and the cheeses and sauce were delicious. Smoked Beet Pastrami: The beets were well-cooked and fantastically seasoned, complemented perfectly by the dressing. However, there needed to be more beets and a better beet-to-funnel cake ratio; while the funnel cake added some nice crunch, there was way too much of it and did not do much for the dish. Brussels Sprouts: Well-seasoned, although very greasy and overcooked. Broccoli di Ciccio: Perfectly cooked, but very salty. It did have good heat. House Rolls with butter: Warm and fine, but nothing distinct. I would try elsewhere if you are looking to dine out in Frederick, especially given Wye Oak Tavern's prices.

The building is large with plenty of parking. It has a medieval-vibe from the outside, although there's a plaque inside the front door saying the building was built in 2000. Once inside, it's fairly dark and continues with the old-mansion type atmosphere. There are lots of items hanging from the walls, older portrait photos, chandeliers, etc. very cool space. We were told at the front desk to go upstairs for the brunch (there is an elevator!). Once upstairs, we were greeted and sat in a corner table for two. The placement of the table was perfect, as there were a lot of families there for brunch, and I felt like we were being given an opportunity for more quiet. I noticed that the layout of the room placed tables for two and other smaller tables toward the outside. The server greeted us warmly and explained where things were and invited us to get started. The food: outstanding. The crab dip was thick from cheese and full of crab. The Maryland crab soup (didn't try the cream one) was full of crab and veggies, and the broth was flavorful. The salad was fresh, the chicken and salmon were both well prepared and delicious and the crab omelette was full from crab. There's also the traditional breads, eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage. They all looked good, but I didn't take them seriously with all the other foods there. I went to get prime rib snd was given a huge piece freshly sliced. Outstanding. The outside was seasoned perfectly and the inside was moist and flavorful. You can get creamy horseradish, horseradish alone and au jus, which you serve yourself. The desserts included some pies (including key lime), cooked apples, brownies and there's fresh fruit at the salad bar. Service: Outstanding. Our server kept our water glasses, iced tea snd coffee filled and took our plates promptly. Bloody Mary - was $1 and I think it's a darn good Bloody Mary. Not fancy, but tasty. We came here looking for a new place to go for buffet brunch. We live over a half hour away, but do plan to come back for other occasions. It's a nice atmosphere with a very classy vibe, but good for families. Everybody seemed to be having a good time and enjoying themselves. And the service was excellent. The brunch ain't cheap (it's $46.95 per person), but there's outstanding prime rib, a real crab dip and two types of legit crab soups, along with other entrees (the salmon was so soft and flavorful - I was jealous because I can never get mine with such great texture), as well as traditional breakfast fare and a salad bar. Worth a visit. The restaurant's regular menu looks pricy, and some of the items on the regular menu are available on the buffet (prime rib, crab dip, crab soups, the chicken and the salmon).
