It was our first time ever eating at Bonefish Grill but we were considering it for our rehersal dinner so we wanted to try the food. The staff at this location is nothing short of incredible. The hostess asked if we had dined there before and we let her know we had not so she made a few recommendations. She also let our server know and he made a ton of suggestions and checked on us a lot as well. It was my fiances birthday so they even had the manager stop by and she gave him a coupon and an actual birthday card signed by the staff. Just picked up an order for the lobster shrimp roll family dinner. When asked how many this was for I told the waitress 4 adults. The instructions that came with creating your ultimate roll called for you to "pile high" the lobster shrimp mixture. There was enough to make only 2 rolls. I paid close to $50.00 for this dinner. I would NOT recommend this family dinner. The portion was so small though they did include 4 large rolls for me to fill with shrimp/lobster. I did not have enough food to feed the 4 adults. Very disappointing. Purchasing this to feed your family would be a mistake. Spend your money somewhere else In response to this review I was contacted by John one of the store managers. He listened to my concern and made it right. He saw me as a valuable customer and apologized for my experience. My husband and I just picked up our takeout order this evening and was quite disappointed. Broccoli was partially spoiled and overripe in other spots. We managed to salvage about 1/3 of it. Mashed potatoes were thick and salty. Salmon was dry - overcooked. I'm not sure if quality is lessened with takeout orders vs dining inside the restaurant. Regardless, this doesn't excuse the state of our dinners tonight. read more

We had the worse experience at this Bonefish. We order our food plus a take out order that usually shows up right before you get ready to paid. So the waitress brought out two big bags of food and I asked her is that the to go order she said yes the order and the sides so I said ok!! Here it was our food orders that sat on the next table for an half an hour. Waitress can by, which she was very attentive and asked if we received our food we said no so she went to check, here our food was all packed up to go sitting on the next table., so she said I'll take it back so the can remake it. ( like we were going to believe that one). Sure enough it was reheated and serve again. Crake cakes were mushy and warm French fried was Luke warm. What a wonderful Halloween diner at Bonefish Grill. We had reservations for 6:30 pm and arrived on time. I guess no one stays home on Halloween. The place was packed. It was my sisters 83rd birthday. We didn't get a booth until 6:50. The staff was just unbelievable in doing their best to get us seated as soon as possible. They bent over backwards and were extremely attentive durning our entire meal. Our server Vic was back and forth pouring our wine, keeping our water glass filled, and asking us if we needed anything. When the check arrived one of the managers (Dan Park) apologized for us having to wait. The wait staff and management were outstanding! The meal itself was excellent with my sister having the Shrimp stuffed with Lobster , my wife ordering the Tuna Medium rare, and I eating the Lobster Tail. This was our first visit but will not be our last. Thank you Dan & staff for making this a special night for my sister as well as for my wife and I. read more

Went here for a graduation dinner. Our server, Harry (I think), was personal and attentive but not invasive or overbearing. He was knowledgeable, answering all our questions regarding the menu. The manager also came by to check on us and give the table a token of their appreciation for celebrating with them. Love coming here when I'm back in town. All the seafood is especially fresh, and this is coming from someone who lives on an island. Always love ordering the bang bang shrimp or tacos but I think that's everyone's favorite. I especially like that you can choose how you want your fish prepared, I usually go for the blackened. This place gets pretty packed during happy hour, so don't be surprised if you have to wait a little, but I think it's worth it. Always pleased by the service and cocktail menu. For me to give four stars to a chain, you know it has to be good. Because I generally hate chain restaurants. I see most of them as noisy places you take your kids to drown out the every day noise of hearing "mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmm!" My husband made the executive decision to take me here for my birthday. Generally we go someplace a few shades nicer and more expensive, but we've got an infant and a toddler, and limited babysitting, so this place was a last minute idea. My mother had told me that everyone she knew has raved about this place and granted, everyone she knows hangs out at the local Applebees and are practically senior citizens that go out at four to avoid the crowds. But I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.... And when I got there, I was pretty disappointed when I first saw the menu and nothing looked that appealing to me. I was a bit annoyed. We settled on mussels as an appetizer, and what do you know, they were tasty. The sauce was actually so good, that I wanted to drink it with a straw. I refrained and just used the spoon instead. The entire night went like this: hubs: this is actually pretty good. me: oh my god, dude, this is fantastic. lather rinse repeat. So yeah, I was pretty surprised. It's still a chain and it's not my favorite place in the world, but I would definitely go back. We weren't disappointed with any part of our meal or the service. Have to give a shout out to the exceptional service on a crowded Christmas Eve at this restaurant. While the food is always good, we were very impressed with our server, Jonathan, who was handling multiple tables with a smile on his face and attention to everyone's needs. I don't understand the fascination with this place. My husband and I went her on a Friday for dinner. We were there when they opened their doors. Very few customers. We ordered calamari. What we received was a plate of cabbage, lettuce, a few pieces of calamari. I ordered Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. The shrimp was battered and fried. The sauce for the tacos was like an extra thick version of Thousand Island dressing. My husband had the shrimp and scallops. The food here is so incredibly overpriced and completely flavorless. Generally if you go to a restaurant and the waitstaff spends the whole time talking about dipping sauces and not about any actual food you know the priorities might be a bit off. Even the scallops are cooked straight through, which in my book is a sin beyond forgiveness. The sauces are actually entertaining and the food is better when the spices and breading are the main attraction, like with the faux-asian (and slightly racist) Bang Bang Shrimp. I've dined here several times for dinner. I rather like the decor of the place. It's contemporary, but also a tad classy. And somehow comfortable. The menu is excellent, with a nice variety, while seafood is emphasized, there's something for everyone. And the fresh bread is excellent, as are the appetizers -- usually. It always appears to be well staffed, with an abundance of well trained young people bustling about. The problem with this place is its irregularity. Some meals are excellent. Well prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. Yet upon the next visit, I'll order a nice fish dish and find it to be quite oily. And I do mean oooiiilllyyy. Different chefs? I don't eat here often enough to sort out the pattern. But whenever I consider another visit I pause... "What was it last time?" If it was excellent, I'll usually skip the place and try elsewhere. Pros: For a chain, it really exceeds expectations on many levels. Lots of fresh food. No 'fishy' odor, particularly for a place that serves a lot of seafood. Lots of vegetables. Unique appetizers and entrees. Our dinners were delicious. Cons: my friend's swordfish/pumpkin ravioli was too small of a serving for the cost, as was the watery apple martini she ordered. It's too DARK in there!! Seriously, for two people in their early 40's we had to use our phones as light to read the menu. Definitely make reservations! They absolutely jam as many people as they can on the main dining area, you're basically sitting it's strangers! That cane be forgiven, the waiting for the food cannot. We ordered and then another couple came in, sat down, ordered drinks, then ordered their food and got theirs way before us. We sat there for about 30 mins between salad and entree. The shrimp presented very nicely. Tasted well balanced and had a crunchy coating. My wife had the cedar plank salmon which came out beautifully. It presented well and was cooked right to the mark. It was flavorful but needed a bit of salt to balance. The mashed potatoes and broccoli also were on the mark. They both needed a bit of salt but otherwise a quality meal. I had grilled salmon with jasmine rice and coleslaw. The fish was a over cooked a smidgen. It presented well and was balance with its seasonings. The rice was proper as expected. The coleslaw presented well, was delicious and well balanced. We shared a slice of key lime pie. We both thought it was right on the mark for flavor and presentation. Staff Service was prompt, polite with both good cadence and diction from the server to manager to food runners. They appeared to work well as a team. Other Plates, stemware and cutlery were clean. Wine was a good quality choice for both Sauvignon Blanc, which was served at the proper temperature, and my Pino Noir. In all, a very enjoyable meal experience. Very nice staff but average chain restaurant food. Felt like most items were deep fried and not with the best oil as 3 of our 4 party group did not feel so great after the meal. Visited for a birthday dinner and after making it seem like they were going to do something special like sing or clap for our LO after tempting him with dessert (which he didn't even want) they instead came out with a little candle and said "sorry but we don't sing here". Came here for dinner last night as a last-minute decision. The wait for a table was about 35 minutes but we were offered a seat at the high-tops immediately, so we took it. The service was fantastic! I'd say that was the best part of our experience. Our server was extremely attentive. I ordered the Pomegranate Martini (I definitely recommend it!) and my husband had the red sangria - he had two glasses so it's safe to say it's good. I ordered the Grilled Salmon with basil pesto sauce, and for my sides I had the white truffle Mac and cheese and steamed broccoli. I also had a Caesar Salad to start and we shared an order of the Bang Bang Shrimp. The shrimp was great, as usual! I didn't dislike my entree; however I regretted not getting the Baja Fish Tacos, which is what I usually go for. The salmon itself was good, but I just wasn't a fan of the basil pesto sauce. It kind of ruined the fish for me after I put it on. If I have that in the future, I would choose a different sauce. read more

Bonefish is one of my favorite go-to places for dinner when I am traveling on business. I like to sit up by the bar and the big screen, where I can watch ESPN while drinking some cold brews and eating some deliciousness. I went over to the one in Exton the other night to try another meal on the seasonal menu. Last time I got the delicious ahi with jalapeno sauce... this time, I got the lobster grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was not good, sadly... the lobster had a "chlorine-esque" taste, and the "tomato soup" was more like hot marinara sauce served in a shot glass... it was very disappointing and the reason for my 3-star review. That menu item needs to go! BOTTOM LINE: Everything was good, except for the seasonal menu item I got... probably a fluke. read more

Bonefish Grill is a welcome addition to the Rt. 30 strip-mall scene. Yes it's a chain but the food is fresh and is cooked by a real person, to order, on the premises. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. The bar is spot-on and mixed drinks are especially good. I'm giving three stars because, with the exception of the grilled fish entree, everything was over-sauced or over-seasoned. Also, because it's a chain, the menu lacks creativity and innovation. It's a fine place to go when you're in the mood for fish but don't expect to be wowed. The signature starter, 'bang bang' shrimp is vaguely Asian and tasty. It's very heavy so share it with a friend or two. Tuna sashimi is a winner and is served with traditional Japanese condiments AND a squiggle of aioli which I found distracting. Mine was sliced unevenly. The ceviche special was refreshing and light. For an entree I went with the grilled fish option which allows you to choose from among seven fishes and four sauces. It comes with a side of your choosing AND the vegetable of the night. I had grouper with chimichuri. The grouper was cooked perfectly and the grill imparted some serious flavor. The chimichuri was too oily and overpowered by cumin. Luckily it came on the side. The 'veggie of the night' was a ratatouille like zucchini dish that was topped with a healthy dose of parmesan cheese. The cheese was a serious misstep because a.) It's a fish restaurant and b.) The rest of the menu is decidedly un-Italian. Broccoli was cooked perfectly but was too buttery and too salty. read more

Reservations for 5 made online for a Friday evening. I called to make sure they knew it was actually 4 and a high chair. We arrived on time but they could not put a high chair at the table they saved us and informed us of an additional 20 min wait. After 30 minutes our table was finally ready. We sat there long enough to choose our meals without acknowledgement from our server. Orders were collected, I ordered soup first and an app as my meal. My glass of wine came before we even got water. Another 30 minutes before we got food, which all came out together. My soup was cold and incredibly sweet for a crab and corn chowder. When we told our server about the soup, i was questioned as if he didn't believe me. They added two "premium" ($$) sides to my dad's plate after he stated he only wanted one. The server again argued with my dad about the order. 3 out of 5 meals were decent. My appetizer meal (bang bang shrimp) was delightful. I did realize by the end of our meal that we never received bread either, which would have been super helpful for my hungry 1yr old who had to wait so long to eat. I understand weekends are busy especially so close to a holiday. Reservations should not mean waiting 30 minutes for a seat. Orders were not correct and some food was cold. After all of this, please do not argue with us. This was our first time at this location and we likely will not be back. read more

It's just a chain restaurant. It is not spectacular food or service. The waiters and waitresses were all right, no one was rude at least. But the seafood here was completely disappointing. I ordered some kind of shrimp as an appetizer and it was way too spicy and not good. I got scallops as a main dish, and they were rubbery and tough in the center - obviously improperly cooked, as I make my own scallops better than this. They were not the best scallops I'd ever eaten. It's too expensive for the quality. If you want really excellent seafood don't go here. Like I said: it's just a big chain establishment that has mediocre food. Also, the Exton place is VERY crowded now, and almost claustrophobic, and the noise level can get loud. Not good for kids either. read more

I will never go back to this place, it absolutely ruined my Valentines Day. We made reservation for 7:15 and arrived 15 minutes early. The place was extremely crowded and hard to even check in. I was told there was 45 minute wait and that was because people dining were taking to long. It's Valentines Day don't you think they should have taken that time for into consideration! I went for my brother's high school graduation dinner. EVERYONE recommends the Bang Bang shrimp and so of course we tried it and it was everythingI had imagined and more. I also had pan-seared ahi tuna that was perfect...and although I'm big on only eating half a plate to save calories, at this restaurant it was impossible. I was in town for work and stopped here to catch the World Cup game and have dinner. I was very pleased overall with the service and the food - everything was prompt, fresh and delicious. I didn't do the bang bang shrimp everyone recommends, but the apps and entrees were all great. What really made me like this place even more was the fact that I accidentally left my sweatshirt there and traveled back home outside of the state the next day. Jason, the manager, was incredibly helpful and accommodating on the phone and returned it to me via mail. I went to website to do call ahead seating. I entered all information & drove to restaurant, approximately 1/2 mile. When we got to hotel, I went in just to be sure we were on list. The lady with short hair & blue top told me that they had not received my information. She asked if I called in. I told her no, I had signed in on website. She told me that they don't do it that way, you have to call in. I said that they should remove that option from website because I almost didn't go in to check since I thought we were already checked in. I never raised my voice in any way, She told me not to yell at her! I said that I wasn't yelling, but it should be removed from site if you can't use it. Again, I was told not to yell at her. I wasn't suprised or anything, but it was decent. We ordered "bang-bang shrimp" which is typically good, but today it was lacking sauce, and it was suprisingly not as spicy as they advertise it. I also had a caeser salad which didn't have enough dressing and had more than enough parmesean cheese. I also ordered the"Maine Lobster Tail," and the "Filet Mignon," they were average. The Lobster was a little burnt, and overcooked. I thought the butter sauce was good, and it was presented well. The filet was cooked medium rare (to my liking), and I enjoyed the mashed potatoes. But the only problem with the filet was the outside was a little burnt. I enjoyed this place, but I will not be rushing back. P.S. it was quite pricy...
