I came here with my parents for dinner on a Saturday. The food was such a disappointment. My dad got the special lobster tail imperial. He asked the waitress to confirm it was a full lobster tail topped with crab, shrimp, and scallops. That is not what he got. It was all the seafood chopped up and put back into the lobster tail. HUGE disappointment and not worth the $30! I also got the special dynamite salmon. It was salmon stopped with crab, mushroom, and creamer spinach. Nowhere in the description did it say spicy. It was so spicy I couldn't eat the topping. I also got the potato's au gratin and they potatoes were hard and barely cooked. Made reservations for Saturday evening. Upon arrival we were seated right away. Our server, Thom, arrived soon after and took our drink order along with explaining specials. We started with two apps, Beef & Ginger Dumplings and Calamari. The Calamari was hot and crisp with a flavorful sweet, spicy Asian sauce. The dumplings had good flavor but were overtopped with the crispy onion and didn't have pickled vegetables as described except for some pickled ginger. For entrees, my wife was in the mood for a plain piece of fish which was accommodated by an off menu cod with butter, the side choices seemed limited for my wife. She would have preferred the mashed potatoes however they were garlic mashed. I had the Butterfish special served with Jasmine rice, lightly sautéed spinach and mushrooms and soy sauce glaze. We have been patrons of the Bonefish restaurant in Exton Pa. for many years .However , we have seen a serious decline in the quality and quantity ion their main courses. Tonight ,my wife had the filet mignon which was probably 3 to 4 ounces at best and I had the special, grilled swordfish.The swordfish was no more than a 1/4 inch thick , probably no more then 3 to 4 ounces and was just plain dried out. I used to order the Chilean Sea bass ,but for 39.00 it is not worth the money for the little piece of fish they serve. Same goes for the tuna appetizer. Ok, so I like Bonefish let's start with a positive LOL. Not a huge "chain" restaurant type of gal but this one works for me and the hubby. Maybe I was having an off night, but not so thrilled with our food choices this evening. Bang Bang shrimp was good but a little lacking in the "Bang" (read: flavor). Hubby had the Risotto Del Mar from the special menu...Meh. I had the seared tuna which I found a little sinewy. I guess that's the word I'm looking for. Maybe what I really wanted was sushi grade ahi tuna so maybe I just ordered the wrong dish. Went to Bonefish again since a friend really likes it and we get the dining rewards. I ade a reservation ahead of time, but when we got there, they tried to seat us at the worst table possible anyway. We had to be firm and insist on a booth. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Food just ok tonight. Her fish (grouper) was overdone and dry. I had baked cod with crabmeat and it was a bit dry and overcooked as well. Not much flavor on mine either. However, the Bang Bang Shrimp was really, really good and they run a special discount on it on Tuesday nights, so that was a plus. We will probably be back to use our dining rewards up, but if the food isn't fantastic next trip, we will probably find another seafood spot next time. read more

I'll start by saying I was set up on a blind date with a man who was slightly older than what I'd hope for, (and by slightly I mean over 10 lol) - yes I know it's a lot. Anywho, going into the night I was extremely apprehensive about who this man is. I decided to meet him at Bonefish. I walked in and the first thing I see is a cute and sweet waitress who looked as though she wanted to help me. I appreciated that. She sat me down and I waited for my lovely date to arrive. And oh was he something. We both ordered the bang bang shrimp and we liked it so much that we got another order of it. We both realized we really do love seafood and planned a second date at this very restaurant. We ate lunch here today and should have known better when we walked in and the restaurant was nearly empty. My fish & chips were so very greasy that any taste was overwhelmed by grease; not all that appetizing. My wife ordered Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were scooped like a cafeteria and not a restaurant masquerading as a fine dining establishment. Her fish looked okay but tasted like it was just d frosted and prepared in a microwave oven; not at all acceptable. The decor is nice, the bathrooms were clean and our server was very diligent and these factors resulted in the two star rating. We definitely won't be in any hurry to return, if ever. read more

This past time we were disappointed when pickup was unorganized and our food in much smaller quantities than before. The last (2) times I was there I had a server named Jonathan, he was awesome!! he remembered the cocktail I ordered when I was in (2) weeks ago, asked if I wanted the same cocktail.I ordered the same cocktail because it was good the last time I had it, last night did not disappoint either...I was impressed . The food was 50/50. The fish and chips were light and crispy. My salmon tasted "fishy", over-cooked and not fresh. Service was inconsistent and awkward. Sat almost 10 mins with not even a glass of water. If the restaurant was busy, that can happen. However, the restaurant was not busy with numerous servers standing in the back chatting. Had to finally get up and request a server. Asked for a few minor changes (butter) for the bread and sugar to add to tea. Both had to be requested again. Since we seemed to have 2 main servers, one did apologize and said the "kitchen can't see the ticket" or something to that effect. Mostly solid food. Over the past dozen or so times I've visited I've had 5 star visits and near 1 star visits, so consistency of food and service isn't this place's best quality. However, when the food is done well it is excellent for a seafood chain restaurant (seems like 4 out 5 times this is the case, hence the overall 4 star rating). Notable mentions include the wood fired fish selections, particularly the Chilean Sea Bass Pan Asian Style or the Lobster Thermidor Dorado. My wife enjoys the Angler Steak and the Burger, all of which I've tried and can agree that they are solid choices. The Bang Bang Shrimp, Ahi Tuna Sashimi, and the Calamari are all superb appetizers. And the bread with herbs and olive oil dipping sauce... BOOM!!! I have trouble not asking for seconds of this stuff! The deserts are okay (all made in house), with a preference for their signature Key Lime Pie. They also offer a nice Happy Hour with discounted drink specials ($3 House Red or White Wine, $1 off draft beers) and discounted bar food options. I believe these specials are offered every day (including weekends) from 4:00-6:30PM and you don't have to be seated in the bar area to take advantage of them (love this option). Overall, food and drink prices are fair for quality and quantity. In summary, overall 4 stars for a seafood chain restaurant. However, be forewarned that service and food can be inconsistent. The dip did come as a surprise being more lump thinking it was going to be more of a liquid consistency but it was so good I didn't care. The seasoned tortilla chips were delicious. For entree I got the Atlantic salmon with the chimichurri sauce and wow! Very tasty and salmon was cooked perfectly. Wasn't very happy with the choice of rice they serve. Feel maybe a couscous (tiny grain) would be a better substitute. Or maybe even a yellow or Spanish long grain rice. Jasmine is just very bland and blah. And because of the rice being bland I opted for the mashed potatoes instead of the veggies because they are also usually very bland and super raw. Personal preference though. I like my veggies pan seared with butter and seasonings. Assuming to appease all to go the bland route. Overall very good and will eat here again. Was very disappointed with them tonight. From start to finish. Waited more than a few minutes to have a server come to our table. My drink supposedly had alcohol in it, but surely did not taste like it. And at 11 bucks for a drink, I want to taste it. So I mentioned it to our server and they made the next one slightly better. Found out when I got the tab, they had charged me for the extra pour. Bang bang shrimp was way too spicy. I didn't finish them because of that. And no utensils or napkins placed when it was delivered. Sorry. I don't 'do' the chopsticks thing. Had to ask for the setups. And water. And the bread, which is usually served when you sit down. The pot stickers were served barely above room temperature. We also noticed the tables from other customers weren't bussed within a reasonable time. And they weren't even busy!! The bar area had maybe 8 people in it, not including us! This used to be a favorite of ours. Now. Not so much. I don't think we'll bother to go back. Shame. read more

We eat here often and it has always been amazing until tonight. The bone in ribeye went down in size and up in price but my husband had his heart set on it because it's always so, so good. Tonight, he said it wasn't even at "fair" quality and was full of fat. We are so disappointed so if you loved the ribeye before, beware now. This was our first visit to bonefish Grill. Colin when was our server and he was amazing. We had the fillet and lobster stuffed shrimp. The steak was done to perfection and melted in our mouth's. And the shrimp was very rich and delicious. Well worth the 5 mn drive. Our order was ready after 25 mns despite their being quite busy. *Mussels josephine: this is an app but boy...that's a HUGE app! Tasty sauce and you can get this as an entree since once you dip the bread in you get pretty full. *Baja fish tacos: these looked tasty and our friend polished them off along w. the mixed green side salad w. balsamic vinaigrette it came with (or you can get chips instead). *Longfin tilapia imperial: fiance ordered this with a side of garlic mashed potatoes (yum!). Fresh fish altho portions are on a the smaller side. *Pecan parmesan crusted rainbow trout: got this with a side of french green beans (haricot verts) which were delish and fresh. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Just had an extremely disappointing meal at Bonefish Grill in Exton. Service was non-existent and I had to physically go up to the hostess stand twice to request missing items that we'd ordered. The restaurant was 75% full on a Sunday night at 5:30 PM and grossly understaffed. My king crab legs (the special of the night at $45) arrived ice cold. My asparagus was extremely overdone and the potatoes were soggy. The ice cold "butter" that accompanied my crab was 80% water and did not taste anything close to seasoned drawn butter. My wife's lobster tail was delivered without any butter whatsoever. We asked the hostess for butter and she summoned our waiter - who we hadn't seen in over 30 minutes - to deliver tea light butter warmers with ice cold liquid butter. Met great people...some passing through and others who are in my same boat. The staff here are incredible. Super sweet. Remember your name and ask how your day has been going. The service is prompt and the food is as advertised. But...don't forget the 'land food' as it's often better than the fish. Amazing. It was our first time ever eating at Bonefish Grill but we were considering it for our rehersal dinner so we wanted to try the food. The staff at this location is nothing short of incredible. The hostess asked if we had dined there before and we let her know we had not so she made a few recommendations. She also let our server know and he made a ton of suggestions and checked on us a lot as well. It was my fiances birthday so they even had the manager stop by and she gave him a coupon and an actual birthday card signed by the staff.
