Having ramen and a beer on a Sunday afternoon, nothing wrong with that!

I'll give a on Daddies a 4. The ramen is good not great, certainly not traditional. But their traditional Tankatsu was flavorful. The noodles were cooked well and I greatly appreciate that. The bone broth has good flavor, maybe slightly on the oily side but good. The pork belly slices were plentiful and the egg good and runny. So all in all a decent boil of ramen and I've had a lot. I'll give a little extra credit to Bone Daddies for two things. First, ice cold draft Asahi goes a long way :-) Second the music at the shop I was at have a lovely vibe. Service was wonderfully attentive for a mid-Sunday afternoon as I tried to manage my jet lag. All in all a very solid visit and I'd come back. Great saki selection of your in and wanting as well.

I normally LOVE bone daddies. It's my go to ramen spot if I want to eat out. The only ONLY reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the last time I went here it felt like my entire ramen dish was bean sprouts. There were more bean sprouts than noodles in the dish. That being said, the other ten times I have been here it has been DELICIOUS. Thus the four stars.

Was expecting super flavorful broth given the name was bone daddies and the flavor comes from the bones. Broth was underwhelming, but was much better one we added a few cloves of garlic. If you're craving ramen, walk down a couple blocks to monohon, which does spectacular ramen.

I know my girlfriend will want to come here. It pisses her off that I enjoy ramen in the UK, but when I go with her to get ramen in the US I think that it is not great. I don't really eat ramen, but for some reason I figured I would give Bone Daddies a shot. I was visiting family in Aberdeen and decided I would spend a few days in London before heading back to the US, and my cousin kept telling me to go to Bone Daddies. I figured that it would not hurt to try so I happened to wander into this specific location. As I said, I am not really a ramen fan, but for some reason the ramen at Bone Daddies was just out of this world. The pork belly skewers they offered as well were amazing! Even though it can get pretty packed at times, I do think it is well worth the wait to go here and to sit down and have a beer and a nice big bowl of ramen. I'm not sure when I will be heading back to London again, but I know when I come back, this place will definitely be on my list of places to visit again.

Not traditional ramen shop but who cares!!! :) Bone Daddies is cute and has interesting decorations all over with nice selection of alcohol and food! We tired duck bao ban. Karaage, pork chili ramen and original one. Everything comes out real quick and taste pretty good!!! For your condiments, whole fresh garlic for you to crash at the table and white sesame seeds! They even have hair ties for ladies that have long hair and hard to eat it. Quite nice! It's not my favorite ramen place for all time but I would love to come back more and try other dishes and totally recommend here to all of my friends!!!!!

The food was delicious. The vegan mushroom ramen is well sized and flavorful! 2 people for dinner with drinks and appetizers was under 50quid. The location can get busy so would suggest reserving. Only downside is how crowded and loud the place can get when busy.

Not your traditional ramen-ya. The chefs here make add their own creative twist to the traditional tonkatsu ramen, and by traditional twist, I mean a ton of salt. I ordered the the classic Tonkatsu, and tried the Tantanmen. The broth was fairly well done, dragged down by the excessive amount of salt. The noodles were firm, but lacked the crunchiness that better places offer. The pork belly was fairly average. It was chewable, but didn't exactly melt in your mouth. I came in with high expectations through a colleague and Zagat. After eating here, I really don't think this place is bad. In fact, if you're looking for something hearty and filling on a winter day, Bone Daddies could do the trick. I just wouldn't put Bone Daddies as an essential ramen experience.

Not sure if you can tell but this is my friend's ramen with the super thick broth. Looked as if it wasn't cooked with enough water.

2 stars because they have free wifi here... other than that NOT WORTH IT!! Friend and I decided to give this place a chance even after we saw the mediocre reviews. SEATING -cute space, has some community seating as well as seating against the wall "bar style" -utensils, napkins, & condiments at the tables so that's nice -good lighting, not dark as s**t like some places. Saw some ppl doing some work here on laptops FOOD -Wow, I'm not super picky with ramen but I honestly would have rather had a microwaveable spicy Korean ramen tonight :/ -Broth was SO salty & my friend's broth was so thick and salty we had to ask for extra hot water to pour into the ramen. -I ordered the vegetable ramen with tofu & my tofu came out half frozen so there's that lol -noodles were weird and squiggly, slightly hard?? As if they weren't cooked thoroughly.. something was definitely off. -we also came in at 10:30 PM and there were maybe 5 other people here.. so I don't understand why the food was so terribly done SERVICE -Service was okay, they were relatively quick with our requests but then again I came pretty late and it wasn't busy Overall, not worth it! Ramen places in soho are a lot better !!

I remember when BD's used to be a pretty ass-kicking street food stall that would be at all the cool LDN street food fests - and a few years on now I was thinking I must try the one that's just opened next to my hotel on Old Street. It was OK, but just not that amazing. Potentially a 3.5 but I'd say this very much fits into the category of being just like Byron in that they fly up in more and more places overnight and are suffering from becoming a big chain. The Korean wings to start were too sticky and gloopy - the tangy taste of cheap Chinese restaurant sauce. Not really what I was after. The pork and soft shell crab ramen wasn't bad but again didn't feel awfully authentic and again I'll have to describe it as 'gloopy and claggy' These 2 dishes with a tap water came to £20 so definitely not a budget option and you could probably get more authentic stuff for half the price. Don't get me wrong these new chains are a step up from having a McD's or Subway on every block but there just wasn't anything that exciting about it. Convenience won out over exploration this time - next time I'll go deeper in my quest for authenticity and taste!

So, I wasn't impressed. I think I'm just not a huge fan of ramen, or else I just keep choosing badly. I came during the soft launch so it was 50% off food. I was on my own so just went for a bowl of tantanmen ramen. The broth was tasty, creamy with a decent flavour - but not the deep, rich taste I hoped for. The meat wasn't great - a single slice of fatty pork and a couple of tablespoons of minced pork. When I ordered the waiter advised me it was spicy but there wasn't any spice - just a slick of red oil across the top, as you can see in my photo. Bok choy was two small chewy pieces. The egg was nice and the noodles plentiful. Service was adequate but not great. I'm glad I went and tried it, but now I know it's probably not worth full price for me. By the time they tacked on a service charge and an optional charity donation, my coke and bowl of ramen was still £10, even with the half off.

A return to Bone Daddies to see they made any improvements on their ramen since my last visit. Sadly things appeared a lot worse and reading upon Hot Dinner's review today, it's seems like I'm not the one to think their ramen are too salty for consumption. it seems a lot more busier than last time since the news of them opening with 50% off got announced on Time Out London too. We had to queue for 20mins before we were given a seat. Staff were a bit all over the place and service dropped tremendously. Staff no longer explained what each of the kushikatsu sauces were so I overheard people say that the brown one was soy sauce (it was ponzu). It tooks ages to pay even though we found most of the staff at the entrance area just standing there, Getting back to the food... Salmon tartare Definitely can't fault the quality of the salmon here, delicate yet flavourful. A good thickness giving it a nice noticeable firmness sad bounce. May have slightly went overboard with the ponzu as there was a unbalanced sharpness but it was bearable. The addition of rice pops were much welcome to give the dish a nice contrast in texture. Sweet spicy pig bones We ordered these again and we can probably say npow that these are probably the highlight out the whole menu. I could just order these alone and then a side dish of extra noodles to mop up the rest of the sauce with. The meat was tender, packed full of flavour varying from, sweet, savoury and sour. Heavily sprinkled with sesame for that lovely nutty edge to it and crunch. Salmon and asparagus kushikatsu These probably were the least favourable ones out of all the kushikatsu we had. The salmon didn't give much flavour and as lovely as the asparagus was, it became dominating in flavour. The dish also lacked moisture as the salmon became quite dense and flakey. It definitely called for some of the accompanied sauce like ponzu and kewpie mayo to jazz things up a bit. Prawn and braised shiitake These were probably my favourite choice out of all of the kushikatsu. The lighter filling really complemented the lovely crispy panko batter. They were fried much better than last time, more golden and light. The prawns were lovely and plump, delicately sweet with the braised shiitake aiding it with umami and flavour. Tantanmen 2 Sadly this ramen seem to lack umami and depth even though the broth itself was quite heavy and thick. It also could have been more spicy. However it was the only ramen I've had here so far that wasn't over salty so that itself was refreshing. The mince chicken and pulled chicken didn't do much on flavour but its tenderness and softness did help add a contrast of texture to the dish. The noodles were slightly overcooked and with all the soft textures blending in with each other, it was the beansprouts and the pak choi that saved the dish by adding back some crunch. Spicy miso ramen On the other hand this was way too salty. They really went overboard with the miso that needed half a cup of water added in to make the broth less salty. But at least this one had depth. I wouldn't exactly call it spicy as it was very mild. The char siu was slightly over cooked that the leaner meat around the fat was very dense. Love the flavours though and a very generous piece. The ramen seem to be cooked better here too and the addition of the two perfectly cooked soft boiled eggs were wonderful. Sadly even after a second visit to Bone Daddies I still find they need to address their high salt content in their foods. I can still taste the overload of salt in their rib dish but they manage to hide it with the high sugar levels to mask it. Sadly their ramen are a lot more severe as its a whole bowlful of saltiness, either that or a lack of depth and umami. If one has a history of high blood pressure then I would recommend avoiding this place. Saying that though, they do have a lot of potential as they have a really creative menu they can do a lot with. Currently their starters are a lot better than their mains

Bone Daddies has opened recently a new branch in Old Street. There is some really great additions to the menu such as the crispy duck aburamen and the kushikatsu. I was totally seduced by their kushikatsu! I really enjoyed the Iberico & roast onion and the Scallop, sweet potato & shiso. However the Padrons, bacon and cheddar were a bit disappointing as they contained a lot of bacon fat and was very chewy in the mouth. The ramen were perfect as usual, the broth were rich in flavour. Nothing to improve! Their ramen completely rocks and are a sure trustful value. You should definitely give it a try !

    Tonkotsu ramen with extra Nori
    cathy d.

Ordered: Tonkotsu Ramen with extra Nori The toppings were good, but unfortunately, as a person who has hunted down many tonkotsu ramen shops to try (in CA, NY, NV, Japan), I was very disappointed with the broth, which should always be the hero of a ramen bowl. It was very thick and gravy-like in consistency, and while the flavor wasn't terrible, it was not tasty enough to make up for the weird thickness of the broth. It'd be more fitting to transform this broth into tsukumen, for dipping noodles. But even then, the flavor was just okay. However, the restaurant and staff is very nice and I appreciated that.

Upon entry, the staff greeted you warmly and were on point to execute a perfectly designed bowl of ramen for your eating pleasure. I appreciated how open the staff was to making my bowl "extra" spicy and adding yet another egg even though it wasn't specifically on the menu but satisfied my particular desire.
