Bar and Cashier
Gary P.

I was introduced to Bonchon earlier this year while in Asia. I spotted this one in Katy. I stopped in and asked the cashier if there were other locations. She had no Idea. I was hoping for one on the SW Side. I have now noticed 2 more locations. Midtown and Pearland. I went with the 10 piece Wings, which were very good. I was hoping for the Boneless Chicken Thighs, they serve in Asia. No luck, not on the menu. I say alla dat to say the wings were good.

Daniel G.

Always great though had one bad order. Wings were definitely not double fried and not crispy as usual. I also ordered vegetable spring rolls and got pork for delivery. Dissappointed as normally they are stop on. Off day? New cooks? Not paying attention on this day? Not sure. Also the chicken had no flavor and I ordered with sauce. Something was going on in kitchen here this time to get everything wrong.

Bulgogi Fries

I ordered the Bulgogi Fries and enjoyed the seasoned fries with bulgogi, mozzarella, scallions & spicy mayo. This was a great size portion that I couldn't finish it. I will say there wasn't a lot of people here and had issues trying to get a refill. Other than that this was a yummy treat.

I just want to preface this by saying I am usually obsessed with Bonchon and used to go out of my way for some when I lived in Maryland. I've been to Bonchon in San Diego, NYC, Maryland, and now here. The wings here are not breaded and lacked the "crunch," I've experienced at every other Bonchon. The flavor was also off and the wings were dry. Although, the service was good the food just missed the mark. Will definitely have to stop by the Bonchon in Midtown (50 min away) to get my cravings satisfied.

Took 20 mins instead of 15,chicken was warm by the time I got home but the chicken is very dry and gets stuck in your teeth

Flavors were amazing. We arrived an hour before closing but staff were super friendly. They let us taste sauces to decide which we wanted. We were the only ones in there but didn't make a difference.

What a huge disappointment and waste of $124, I love Bonchon, been eating it since I lived in colorado for years, Came into town today and I ordered 2 orders of Pot stickers, drums, wings, japchea, fried rice with bulgogi, the wings are not double fried, some barley fried and barley had any skin, HORRIBLE, the rice and potstickers were good as usual but I am seriously disappointed with the drumsticks and wings, they are not the normal for BONCHON

Lunch menu

Remembered, my first experience here not being very good (about two years ago), due to their being an overzealous waiter who talked our ears off about everthing from sneakers to hats and that the Korena Fried Chicken was overcooked. I always feel like some places deserve a second chance, so since I work close to this location I decided to give it a redo. Took a trip during a late lunch break, after the noon rush, and found the place pretty empty. Interestingly enough, it still took someone over f ive minutes to even acknowledge that I was even there, even though there was a lady behind the bar - just steps from me. Someone finally came and took my order of the chicken strips, fries, and a drink. While waiting, I noticed that some of the tables weren't clean. I'm sure that the lunch rush was just ending, but no one was really attending to the tables during my time there. My food came out, after a little wait, and the presentation was OK, but the fry order looked a bit light and I had to ask for ketchup, even thought there was a little place for it on the fench fry holder. I was then given half a container of ketchup (see images). The taste of the spicy sauce was nice, but after a single bite of each chicken strip the batter fell right off of the strip. I don't recall ever seeing that before. I don't know what to do after this visit. I guess we'll see.

I only ordered the wings and they were pretty good. However, not sure worth it for the price. The service was great and they were very attentive. It was a little early in the day there weren't many people in the restaurant at the time, but it was very clean and well kept.

Great food we sat outside great vibes!! Donuts good toooo period. Great server Tiam

Chicken Katsu with Coleslaw

The food was okay. I had the chicken katsu and it came with so much rice. Please get extra sauce if you order it. I didn't finish it and took it home, it does not really microwave well after a day. The wings were okay, doesn't heat up well after a day either. The service was okay. We stayed outside but the outside lights were just for decor. It would have been nice if the lights came on. I would go again to try something else on the menu.

Wings 8 PC

This was my first time at a Bonchon location so I did not have something to compare it to as other reviewers did but the food was good. Seating: there is a lot of indoor seating, couple of large booths for bigger parties and bar seating. There is a bar. We came for lunch and ordered from the lunch menu: - Bulgogi house fried rice - Chicken wings with seasoned fries (Parmesan cheese + parsley) - Boneless chicken "wings" with regular fries The Bulgogi house fried rice was great and I would get it again. The wings were okay. They gave me extra boneless chicken wings (a plus!) but I could not finish my food. Fries were also good. Service was a bit slow (took awhile to order food). There were a few others dining inside but otherwise no complaints about customer service.

As soon I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit with delicious aromas of KBBQ and seafood sizzling at the tables. I was in the mood for noodles and so was my friend - we ordered the jjamppong and the jiajiangmein. The broth for the jjamppong was super flavorful and deep with seafood notes. There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Tasty Ko is a great spot if you're not wanting to drive all the way to the Spring Branch area for Korean food, and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg at Katy Asian Town. Good menu selection for those who either want KBBQ or a la carte classic Korean dishes!

I did appreciate the intimacy and it made it easier to hear everyone in my party. Loved the drinks- highly recommend their green apple makgeolli in particular. When our server found out it was my birthday, she brought us another bottle of makgeolli, completely complimentary. It was so sweet of her to do so, and totally unexpected. Of the food, I especially loved their potato jeon (glutinous and chewy), seafood jeon (super flavorful), and ppurings korean fried chicken (pretty much perfect kfc). I was super excited to try their cheese snowing chicken since it's my favorite korean fried chicken flavor, but it didn't have enough cheesiness or seasoning in my memory. Will definitely be back for more late night snacks in the future! :) - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 4/5 - Service: 5/5

Every single dish was spot-on and the portions were quite generous. If I had to pick, the Japchae, Jajang Myeon, and Spicy Seafood Jjampong Soup were especially memorable. A thick noodle is used for the Japchae which held on to the flavor really well and provided more of a bite. The Jajang Myeon and Soup were absolutely bursting with flavor - bold, rich, and truly satisfying. They perfectly captured the essence of what these dishes should taste like: delivering a home-cooked taste at restaurant quality. As typical of Korean restaurant, every meal comes with an assortment of banchan. The kimchi was perfection and it seems like there are unlimited refills for the banchan. Let's not forget that this is a Pocha! There are lots of drink options and they are open late. This also makes for a great place for large groups and seating ranges from open tables or private booths for those looking for something more private. There is an open stage where I suppose open-mic karaoke used to take place, but as of 01/2025 management has put up signs stating it's currently not in use due to noise complaints from the neighbors. Still, there are plenty of private karaoke rooms to be put to use. This place is a hidden gem - it seems like a well-kept secret tucked away in this little neighborhood. I really hope the place gets more traffic in the future. They really deserve it! Overall really great place to come chill at with friends they've got the food, drinks, and karaoke covered.

Watch your step! Floor is very slippery so walk carefully…read more I'll lead with the punchline which is if you come here, just get the meats because that's where they shine. We ordered the Chef's Table which comes with 4 preselected meats (all beef). My favorites were the unmarinated and marinated kalbi. It's actually quite hard to find Korean BBQ places these days that don't strictly follow the AYCE model with lower quality cuts. These were very good cuts of meat. I could've probably done without the other two cuts. They were good cuts of meat, but the kalbi really stands out. This Chef's Table set comes with 2 sides, but you should know before going that banchan does NOT come along with the meal like many Korean restaurants you might be used to. So don't expect kimchi, salads, or even the lettuce wraps to come along with the meat. You can still order them of course, but will have to be included in your choice of 2 sides. We also ordered: - Seafood Pancake - pancake itself wasn't bad, but not extraordinary. The sauce for this was a bit of a let down. It also didn't arrive until the end of the meal which is unusual. But the service itself while friendly and kind was incomplete. We had to ask for a bunch of things that normally is just considered without mentioning and we didn't see our waiter visit that much after the food was delivered. - Ja Jang Myun - This was quite honestly the blandest set of noodles I've ever eaten at any restaurant. Both my wife and I have never had something taste like nothing. Which was too bad because the noodles themselves were cooked quite nicely. Not overly soft. Very disappointing. So back to the punchline, come here for the meat and skip the other stuff. I will say, they have a lot of different specials throughout the week so maybe those might be worth checking out before coming here because it is a bit pricy for what you get.

There is a sign stating a special 19.99 ayce for Monday thru Thurs but it's a bait, you can only choose meat items. When we asked about the special the guy was kinda rude and just said you can only get 2. Since it was so limited we decided to forego the special and go with menu A and even that is pretty limited for 29.99. On our sheet we put down multiple orders of brisket and he came out with one. The other means he set in another table, didn't say a thing, didn't say it was our order, he just left it there and we were supposed to know somehow. Brisket cuts were really thick, much more than any other kbbq places we've ever been to so it tasted different. Tofu soup is no included on menu A so we paid extra. We selected a bunch of sauces from the menu and they never brought it out. Ordering more meat felt like a chore and that we were bothering them. Guy didn't even ask for our drink order and walked off as soon as he grabbed the paper. Pretty horrible kbbq experience. We wanted to give this place a shot but will never come back. They also give you sides like lettuce wraps, steamed rice, and steamed egg, which was AMAZING. There are so many things you can order, and the quality was really good overall.
