Not bad but not that great... I was wondering what the hype was all about and unfortunately it didn't live up to its expectations. Their pickled beets were tasty though and their fries were crispy. read more

The food was good at this location however the service is abysmal. We went out for a birthday lunch and had 8 people at our table. 6 people got their food in a timely manner but our server forgot to put in 2 of my colleagues orders and didn't let us know until 45 minutes later. My pregnant coworker had to wait over 45 minutes for flood and when it finally came out it was the completely wrong order. Our server even had the nerve to ask what she ordered because he didn't write it down. Our server was Nathaniel and this is not the first time he has given our group terrible service. He always has headphones in and is very rude and dismissive. Clearly he does not listen to guests when ordering or otherwise. To finish off the terrible trip he dropped another coworkers credit card into his glass of pop behind the counter. Very disappointed in our experience. We will not be returning to this location again read more

Can't go wrong with a dinner at BonChon! One of my family's go-to restaurant :) The chicken (soy garlic) is delicious, fresh, and crispy! We also ordered the Korean tacos with beef, spicy chicken sliders, porky belly bao, and udon soup. I would recommend the beef tacos - they are super flavorful, but they did not have enough meat in my opinion. The sliders and bao were just okay, I probably would not order them again. I would just stick to the chicken wings. We visited here on a Saturday evening without any wait to be seated. The downside was that we waited awhile for our food to come out, and they all came out at different times. read more

We dined in here and it was very very cold inside. It was probably better eating outside in a 45 degree Fahrenheit weather than eat inside this place. Our napkins were flying away because the vent was blowing off cold air on our table. We were eating with our coats on and my boyfriend's nose was already runny because of how cold it was. Our food became cold right away. We addressed it with the staff and nothing was done about it. read more

I went to the Bonchon in Chinatown and absolutely love it! Didn't have time to fight the traffic to go to Chinatown, so I stopped at the one in Glenview. I had hoped for the same experience but sadly I was disappointed. This Bonchon served me some very dry and tiny chicken wings. They were not even big enough to cover the plate they came on. I don't know if this spot had a different chicken supplier but the wings were meatless and dry. The seasoning weren't as good as the one in Chinatown too. read more

Best bonchon restaUrant in the worLd. Next time I go to iLlinois I will be sure to stop by again.

The food is phenomenal, always fresh. Staff was very kind and attentive, highly recommend Glenview location!

Awful service. As soon as I walk, in the little bus boy is on his phone. When my food came he dumped it on the table, and walk away. I order an appetizer that didn't not look the picture. I order the taco specially for the bun, but the bus boy insisted I was wrong. So I asked for the menu and he gaslight me and said I needed to calm down. he didn't want to get the menu because he knew I was right. don't ever talk to your customers like they don't know what they are talking about. Awful, no one should ever feel that way especially in the service industry. shame on you! read more

This would've been a 5 but 2 things, this location is not open til 3 pm. Sad face. This is the 4th location I've been to for Bonchon. The other 2 in Virginia. They serve alcohol there, like have an actual bar. The third location I tried was in Chinatown here in Illinois. The one in Chinatown is my least favorite because there is no parking and no eye contact from the servers and the wait time to be seated is ridiculous. The space is extremely small and limited. Anyway, for the location in Glenview. Second reason why It's a four, Well, the floor is slippery. Whatever they use to clean their floor is making it feel like a roller rink. Pros: The spicy chicken wings and spicy pot stickers always hit the spot. The waiters and waitresses here are a lot friendlier and were excellent. Our waiter recommended a Korean beer and he didn't just want us to try it to sell it but it was actually good. If you haven't tried or had Bonchon you're missing out. This location in Glenview had a lot more seats and better space. Afterwards you can even go get dessert in the same plaza . read more

Pretty neat experience, not a typical franchise. The Chicken Wings have this crispy skin that is hard to describe, kind of falls off with each bite, I recommend both versions, the spicy does pack some heat. A different take on tacos, the coleslaw creates a very creamy taco, quite nice. The Onion Rings create a wonderful presentation, quite good but not quite as good as they looked. I was impressed with how quickly the food arrived, from my position I could easily monitor the kitchen window and noted that no dish lingered there very long, many of which were destined for out table. Somewhere between fast food and more formal dining, this establishment fits into a practical category. We dropped about seventy dollars between the three of us, reasonable considering how much we ordered but not a bargain. I like the signage listing the many locations, nicely done. Chicken never was so tasty and crispy. Service was good and during the week it's not crowded. Safety protocols in place so that's a plus. If you're in this area of town stop in and enjoy. I will make sure to make my way there at least once a month. read more

This was pretty good. Wings were very crispy and the sauces were tasty. The spicy one was just a little too hot without the traditional cooling dip of other hot wings. Next time though will go for the strips with the soy ginger. Onion rings were OK with some kind of panko breading. Breading was a little to thick for me. The kimchi was great, as was the pickled radish. Nice modern atmosphere. Comfortable. read more

This fried chicken joint never disappoints. Haven't been here in almost a year and I was happy to see that their chicken was still just as tasty and just as crispy and crunchy as the first time I visited. Tried their udon, which seems to be a new addition to the menu, and I was not mad at the portion, price, or flavor. Definitely fulfilled my udon craving. read more

Not really a wing person but the soy ginger wings are outstanding! How can wings be crunchy and moist at the same time baffles me but Bonchon nails it . The sides are on another level by themselves not sure where they get the radishes from but it tastes like sweet pears and I could have eaten s bowl by myself. The fries were both crispy and flavorful. Bonchon is the place to go ic wings are your thing , they have other items that are on the menu that I will need to venture out and try on my next visit . read more

We ordered a 20 piece boneless wings and onion rings for takeout, and it was more than disappointing. There was maybe enough sauce on all 20 for only 3 wings. It was a sad waste of money, we could have bought frozen chicken strips and a jar of sauce for significantly cheaper, with a better turnout. The onion rings were also very soggy. read more

I wish I could have taken pictures before, but the food was so good that I ate it all! This is not my first time coming to Bonchon, and it will not be my last. Love the wings and japchae great place all the dishes are very yummy, the pot stickers wonderful

So delicious! Even after a lengthy delivery window, it was really good! First time having Korean fried chicken, and I totally get it! We went into this dinner looking for takoyaki. The takoyaki wasn't outstanding, but the chicken was. As was the bulgogi fries rice. Will order again! read more

Korean-style fried chicken have become one of my favorites recently. I love Crisp and MAK (modern asian kitchen) in the city. This place is just as good. Bonchon is a franchise thats popping up everywhere in the Chicagoland area. The chicken here is seriously addicting. Its super crispy, but not oily or greasy. I wish there was more sauce on wings. I love my wings wet, these come more on the dry side. Everything else on the menu looks amazing. This will deff be one of those place I will order takeout till I pretty much try everything on the menu!! read more

This is the second time I'm getting carry-out from Bonchon in four days. I love the chicken strips. They have such a great crisp on the outside, but they're not heavily breaded--just very lightly breaded with a great crunch. This location also has a sweet chili sauce that's not listed on Bonchon's main website. I order half soy garlic and half sweet chili. The 10-strip order is two full meals for me. The kimchi is good, and I'm trying the shrimp shumai, pickled radishes, and fries tonight. I'm hoping my toddler likes the shumai because he's a seafood guy. read more

Arrived during dinner time on a Sunday evening for dine in. There was no one else dining in at that time. They had a few carry out orders. Sadly, we received our sides before our fried chicken came out 15 min later. Sides got cold, we had to request for plates and silverware, and no water refills. The food was just mediocre, nothing to really rave about. Probably won't be rushing back for their fried chicken and lack of service. read more

Their Korean fried chicken is distinctive and quite good. They are on the pricier side to go with the quality, and especially when dining in with a full service tip. We had a small combo (3 drumsticks and 6 wings) for $12.95. We did half spicy and half soy garlic, and next time would just stick with the soy garlic, as the spicy had a bit of lingering extra strong kick. The chicken skin was both sticky moist and crispy, and of course very flavorful. There was nothing special about the size of the chicken pieces. The combo pricing seemed a bit odd in that there was hardly any piece discounting for a bigger combo ($12.95, $23.95, and $33.95 for small, medium, and large) and it seemed you might as well just order multiple small combos. We also ordered pork belly buns ($10.95 for 3) and a bibimbap with spicy chicken ($13.95). The pork belly buns tasted great but were disappointingly just room temperature. It was also nice to have the rice from the flavorful bibimbap with our dinner. Overall, a good novelty sort of place to try. read more

Love Bonchon! This is our Go-to place for wings. Best wings in Glenview area! We love the Soy garlic wings. We always get the 30 pcs wings. We definitely recommend this place. -Ruphy read more

We ordered take out, had to wait an extra 10 minutes for my order to later find out that our order was not complete. The chicken pieces especially the wings were small though they had good flavor, the price we paid for the quality of chicken wasn't worth the price. We ordered the family meal XL they forgot our rice the 2 orders of it, which was a bummer. We ordered the boneless pieces of chicken for our kids, that also was small pieces mostly breading and they forgot the side that came with it. We have been to other Bonchons and this location has disappointed us before. Too expensive and not enough food. Probably won't be back! read more

I'm a huge Bonchon fan...I originally tried it in Chinatown. It is killing me to write this review because it does vary compared to the Chinatown location. In terms of food, the chicken is consistent compared to the other location. It is very tasty and doesn't lack in flavor. The pickled radish is a great compliment to the chicken and neutralizes the palate well. We ordered chicken fried rice and it was on the bland side. I've tried the bulgogi fried rice before and that is WAY better! The only reason I had to deduct a couple of stars is because of the service and cleanliness. The servers weren't super friendly, our table wasn't cleaned before we were seated. Let me rephrase, it wasn't cleaned well. It was still on the sticky side and there were chicken bones all over the floor (more than 3). Our server also over charged us for our fried rice. When taking the bill to the front and showing it to the people at the front, they couldn't even pinpoint the mistake. I'm hoping this is just the growing pains of a new establishment. Hoping the servers will be more on point going forward. This location is so close to us and I'm sure we will be frequent diners! I don't want service to be a reason to avoid it. read more

I love me some good fried chicken. It's a sick addiction. But I must confess I haven't indulged in Korean fried chicken as much as I'd like to. Maybe it's the cost that hinders me - it's usually upwards of $10 (at least where I live.. needless to say, it ain't Popeyes cheap). I first heard about Bonchon from a friend who lives in Boston who swore it to be the best fried chicken he's ever had. I was intrigued. It finally came to Chicago 2 years after we had that convo, but the Chinatown location drew huge crowds so I waited for the hype to die down. And I waited... and waited. Heard about the chain coming to Glenview, which is much closer to me, so I was ecstatic. I really wanted to order only the chicken, but we ended up ordering that as well as the takoyaki and the bulgogi. The chicken was outstanding - we did half & half and it was a perfect mix of sweet, spicy, crunchy, sticky and most of all, TENDER and MOIST. Takoyaki was decent. The bulgogi didn't do it for me, but then again my brother advised that I skip it. read more

Really enjoyed it here. The wings are as good as everyone says. Even the spicy ones have a bit of sweetness. So crunchy, but not at all dry. They fry them fresh to order so they take 30 minutes. Feel free to order other stuff to eat beforehand like the pork buns. Just be aware. The bull dak is spicy. I mean SPICY. I'll be going back here. :) read more

Great find in Glenview. We tried all 3 styles of chicken...they were all unique & amazing. The spicy is SPICY in all the right ways. The sweet is not too sweet & still very crunchy. And the Soy garlic is perfectly sticky & sweet. Everyone in the house loved it. Definitely on our GO TO list!! read more

Decided to try something different and give this Korean Fried Chicken Concept a spin. Eventhough wings would see like an easy thing to churn out on an above average level, restaurants spit out mediocre soggy trash. Well, the korean fried spicy wings here were fucking great. Crispy, almost to perfection. Sauce perfectly applied. Spicy as fuck but not ridiculous. Pickled Radish on side is a nice touch. Service was effecient and friendly. Space contemporary and clean. I took off a star for price. Mixed Green Asian salad was tiny. $9. Bowl of plain fried rice $11. Im a believer that a single buffalo wing cannot and should not cost in more than $1 a unit. Wings at my restaurant go 8 for $8. $16 for $15. 24 for $21. Binchon isnt using Jumbo wings. These are using smalls (which are 40 cents cheaper per lb btw) and had 30 small buff wings at 33.95. Should be at 25-30. That said, I could see their wings weekly read more

Spot on!! I feel that this is how restaurant businesses should be. Not only that the food is great : I got their chicken combo 1/2 & 1/2 of drums and wings. Though only several flavs to chose from (unlike other places that claimed serving too many good different flavs but just ruined the appetites), in the case of BonChon chickens vs other chickens -This place definetely got theee BEST soy garlic and spicy flav chickens. Case closed!! Not to mention my wife and I were well served, and the server was very attentive. Definitely bringing my buddies for good food and booz. Good job B.C.!!! read more
