Yesterday I ordered a family order of Bonchon chicken because our family loves your fried chicken, but we're very upset that the family order that they offer is for dine in, and my husband tried to get to get this order as take out, but they never specicfy that this order is dine in only. Too bad the angry one man show host (slender guy that looked completely annoyed to be there) kept banging dishes when clearing tables (to the point in which dishes were falling on the floor) because it made for one noisy and NOT relaxing lunch. It was almost comical. He kept dragging a moving dish cart thru the aisles and throwing dirty dishes on top. Despite the loud and jarring sound of clanking dishes, the parm garlic fries were delicious (not hot, and came out before our entree). And the wings and drumsticks were tasty but again, not very hot, probably because there appeared to be only one server and maybe they sat? It took awhile to get the food - which would have been ok, but I would have liked things to be hot. I think Korean fried chicken is best piping hot. The server was nice but clearly overwhelmed. This is really hard to write because I absolutely adore Bonchon. Lived in Fairfield for many years and when I heard they were opening up a location in Fairfield I was thrilled. Having tried their chicken at other locations I knew just how good it is and how lucky we were to be getting one of the seldom locations. I went on one of the first days the Fairfield location was open, like really it was the second or third day they were open I went I was so excited. Chicken was fantastic and I would order probably once a month or so and it was always great. No complaints ever. In December 2021 I moved away so no more Bonchon for me, very sad. So when I was back in Fairfield last week I decided to pick up some wings and strips as takeout. Something wasn't right. The strips were the main culprit, they seemed like frozen Tyson tenders! The breading on the outside was way too thick and they were very dry. They were much more sauced than they used to be. It just did not taste like the Bonchon I know and love at all. These were not right at all, even the way they looked previously they were more of a rounded shape and these were classic "tender" shape. They also were much smaller than they used to be. The wings were fine, it seemed the breading was also much thicker than it used to be and they were more sauced but serviceable. Please Bonchon I don't know what is going on but go back to the old way and ingredients. I see a few others have mentioned in their reviews that the quality has gone down as well. Service there is always nice but it's Korean fried chicken I am not going there for service I am going for the mind blowing chicken. read more

Been here twice in the past 2 days. That's how good their chicken is. My boyfriend and I are now obsessed with this place. We ordered boneless wings which were very crispy and all 3 sauces are delicious, but we liked soy garlic the best. Last night we tried the bulgogi tacos which didn't have enough meat, and had too much lettuce. Still giving 5 stars though for how great the atmosphere in the place is and because they have friendly staff, and DELICIOUS chicken. This restaurant is wonderful. So far I've had the bimbap and the fried chicken. My favorite fried chicken is the sweet crunch sauce and the soy garlic. They have good lunch specials , the portions are generous. They even have a bar If you wanna come later in the day and have a drink with your snacks. I've never had Korean fried chicken k before and it's amazing. The restaurant used to be the old location for chef's table; it's located right on the green in Fairfield . They re did it as a hip/ industrial look. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant itself looks spotless and tidy. Will definitely keep coming here for lunch or dinner in the future. Go for the bibimbap. It's pretty tasty & if you go for lunch it's part of the lunch specials. The chicken in it was not as flavorful as others I've had but it was still good. The spice is good and heat builds but the boneless chicken tenders are underwhelming. The taste is okay and the quality of the chicken feels like a fast food chicken tender. Highly recommend this Fairfield spot!! Only started ordering from here a few months ago, but now we get takeout from here at 2-3 times a month. We've never had a bad meal, our orders are always correct and NEVER more than a half hour wait time. We've been contacted by the store to double check orders and let us know if items are not available or an order needs to be adjusted. This extra step in care and customer service earns them a 6th star in my book. The fried chicken is their most well-known menu item but the glass noodles and dumplings are stellar. read more

My brother and I just went there today for a late lunch early dinner, before picking up our grandmother at the Bridgeport ferry. Definitely a great vibe, great food, great service. We didn't even get to sit down because we were in a rush and they took care of us and got our food out in 10 minutes after ordering. The chicken nuggets are so good he got his chicken nuggets with sweet sauce on it and he got a Japanese soda as well. I got the rice with the chicken cutlet and this yummy sweet sauce and then a habanero mayonnaise on top. The woman at the host stand told me to get it and she was so right! It was delicious it was original and we were so happy that we stopped there along route. We live in Ridgefield so going to Bridgeport is a little bit of a hike, but stopping there was definitely a great choice. I will definitely be going back there with my family when we have a family dinner out! The host at the host stand was so funny and so kind she asked us questions and she was a great conversationalist. As well as the manager who was very kind when we asked if it was a possibility for us to be seated.
