Truthfully, we wanted to love this space so much but felt it did not meet our expectations. We had to be moved from our table due to the grill not working after we were settled, but was more so gestured as they did not communicate what was going on with us. The interior was pretty and the tables are well spaced out. The silverware and overall space was very clean which I appreciate! This is not the typical authentic Korean BBQ that I'm familiar with. We found the cost did not align with the quality of the meat nor did it match what was promised. The marinated meat did not taste marinated nor did it have the traditional Korean marinade we are familiar with. Unfortunately there was a situation occurring at another table which took every server away for about an hour. It could have been handled better as we were waiting to ask for our check for a long time. The staff was nice and the side dishes were unlimited, it was just not a typical Korean BBQ experience. We likely won't return as this is far from us, but we hope it does well and makes improvement!

First heard about this restaurant on social media and I was excited to try it. They offer lots of options aside from the Korean BBQ like sushi, a variety of Asian appetizers like dumplings, baos, shumai and salads. The lobster option for Korean BBQ was a favorite... so delicious!! Great service! The staff was very friendly and made the experience enjoyable. Big shoutout to Simon! Good atmosphere! It was beautiful inside with the gold touches. It is located in a busy location in downtown Westport and parking can be tough to find, which is my only con. Will plan to be back.

Recently ate at gogi. The service and atmosphere was great. I think for the overall price of the food it could've tasted better. If you are looking for that korean bbq expierence gogi is great they cook the food for you, your not cooking it yourself. The food came out quickly and it was easy to get a reservation last minute .

Stopped here on my way back from work. Was stuck in traffic and starving so I looked for a place that served sundubu. Found this place as the best option and my judgement was right. I went between lunch and dinner. It was quiet at that time, but still so inviting. Service was fast, and overall optimal. I was greeted by a server who also took care of me. I ordered the soup (sundubu) that came with a side of white rice which is standard. It was absolutely delicious. I ordered a pretty martini, think it was passion fruit flavored with ginger beer. It didn't taste as strong as other martinis I've had in the past but I think that was the point. I'm without a doubt hitting this spot back up when I'm over that way again. At the end, the server gave me a complimentary ice cream, and a discounted coupon. I was very happy with my experience and outcome.

This Korean Steakhouse puts hibachi to shame. We had such a fun time with our server Simon and all the other amazing staff. The food is cooked right in front of you while they put on a show. We left with our bellies full and happy. The restaurant is a great place for a GNO, date night, or any special occasion! We highly recommend reservations as the seating is limited.

We came in after a nice short hike on the earth place trails. The restaurant is located in a small plaza. With 2 parking lots to choose from, there was no struggle finding a spot to park. The inside is very pretty and has dark lighting, making the ambiance good for romantic meals. The service was spot on, and they do take samsung Pay and apple Pay in case you forget your wallet like we did, lol. We did not try the bbq, but we were able to sample 4 dishes, and all of them were super tasty. The food came very quickly after being ordered. The prices are about what you would expect from westport. I would certainly recommend giving this place a try!

This restaurant was great. The food is top notch and so the pricing reflects that. WE got the butcher combo which had 4 meats and it was plenty for 2 of us. The staff was so helpful when explaining the menu and all the sides that come to the table. We also got the vegetable spring rolls which were phenomenal. Highly recommend checking this place out. The ambiance was great, spread out between tables, slightly dimmed lighting, upbeat music.

GOGI - Westport, CT is a unique dining experience featuring a mix of Korean Barbecue and Sushi! The highlight? Watching the chef prepare your Korean Barbecue right at your table. Our server Simon was awesome! If you're looking to try something new, GOGI is a must-visit spot in Westport! Here's what we tried! Came here last weekend for boyfriend bday! Food is very delicious! Filet Mignon and chicken were so good! Service is outstanding! Easy parking. Regarding parking: Parking is at back of building, go down brick stairs to gain access to restaurant quickly. Great drinks! Definitely recommend! We will visit againsoon :)

If you want the best Korean BBQ experience in CT, you have to visit Gogi! We've had Korean BBQ before, but this experience was on another level! When we've done Korean BBQ at other places in the past, the restaurants are usually really smoky, and though they're typically all-you-can-eat, you have to cook everything yourself. Sometimes I feel like I don't know what I'm doing and that I could've cooked the meat better. Gogi is not an all-you-can-eat style restaurant, but I much rather prefer quality over quantity. We had the Butcher's Feast for 2, which came with 4 different types of meats, each at 6 ounces: A5 Wagyu (the highest grade you can get - the marbeling was impressive), Bulgogi (boneless short rib), galbi (bone-in short rib), and filet mignon. It's pricey but well worth it. I was so glad that the staff came to our table to cook the meat for us, because they seasoned everything perfectly, and the restaurant wasn't filled with smoke! The meal came with a variety of traditional Korean banchan, or small side dishes, and we really enjoyed the fried rice. The staff even showed us how to make a traditional Korean lettuce wrap with our meat and banchan. Gogi also has sushi on their menu in addition to other Asian dishes, and we loved the chicken tempura & cream cheese roll we had for an appetizer. My fiancé had a wasabi-tini that was perfectly spicy for him, and I enjoyed the mocktail they made for me! For dessert, we shared a chocolate lava cake and refreshing passionfruit & mango layer cake. Gogi really won our hearts - this was truly one of the best meals and experiences we've had recently. They've earned a spot as one of new favorite restaurants in CT!

Food is amazing here at Gogi; much better than any other KBBQ in southern CT. Definitely get the galbi which is not marinated but seasoned to perfection. The staff will cook table side for you and ensure it's made how you like it. To top it off, we got free ice cream at the end of the meal. Will be a frequent customer.

We came here after a cold walk at Earthplace (7 minutes away) and boy was this the perfect way to warm up! You don't have to get KBBQ here. For two people ordered: Hot Tea Seaweed Salad Coconut soup Seafood Pancake Korean Rice Noodle Going in order starting with the hot tea - it was a pot of delicious green tea with roasted rice. The rice gives it a hearty, comforting flavor and aroma. Don't worry the rice doesn't end up in your cup. The pot is big enough for two people to each have 4 small cups. Get this on a cold day! The seaweed salad was comparable to any other seaweed salad, except it came with slivered cucumbers. The coconut soup reminded me of tom yum soup. It had a few pieces of shrimp and squid, and also tomato and pineapple. There was a nice lime flavor in the broth. This soup is a light yet slightly creamy way to start the meal. Getting onto the seafood pancake this was unlike any other seafood pancake I've had before. It must have been practically deep fried because it was suuuper crispy. It was very satisfying and easy to eat. It was not overly bready and had a good ratio of green onions and seafood inside. This is my new favorite style of seafood pancake. Now my favorite: Korean rice noodle (Tteokbokki). This had perfectly cooked squid and shrimp that carried a slightly grilled flavor. It was a decent portion size and could easily serve as a small meal for two. It is slightly spicy and has a small bit of diced peppers and onions. The ambiance and staff made us feel comfortable. There was chill house music playing. We came on Sunday at noon and the place was surprisingly empty. I'm sure it won't be that way for long. Check out this restaurant and remember you don't have to get the KBBQ!

Ive been there for dinner time as well, it's lively, loud in a good way, and immediately feels like somewhere you could stay for hours. I ordered the miso ramen, and it was honestly one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen I've had in Connecticut. The broth was the star of the dish its deep, rich, savory, and layered with that perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness from the miso and a bit nitty form the sesame seeds. The noodles had the perfect texture: chewy, springy, and able to hold onto the broth beautifully. Nothing was overcooked or mushy . What impressed me most was how balanced the ramen was. Some ramen spots go overboard with salt or spice, but this bowl felt refined. Rich but not greasy. Flavorful but not overpowering. You could tell there was actual technique behind it. The portion size was also generous enough to leave completely full without feeling uncomfortable afterward. The service matched the food perfectly and so freaking sweet. Not a chain restaurant and not very big. As it turns out, it was a perfect combination for an UH-MAZ-ING meal! Literally, upon entering the front door, a curtain pulls to the side as we entered the restaurant. A nice little touch like you're entering a whole new world. It's a quaint little spot, maybe 20 or so tables total and some bar seating available. We had a small group of 7 and fit right along the far wall. Asked for some special favors from the hostess and she was more than accommodating. Our server, Julia was phenomenal. She gave us some time to socialize, choose our meals and looked after us as if we were her only table (while taking care of a couple other tables at the same time). Very personable and helpful along the way, not just someone who took our orders only never to be seen again. She had some great suggestions and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was spectacular! I initially ordered a few appetizers for the table. She suggested a Makimono dish which was a selection of the same items I requested and a few more! Perfect for sharing! We enjoyed a variety of entree selections from their menu including poke bowls, sushi and grilled meats and fish. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The desserts were a perfect casual finish to our meal! Can't say enough good things about our experience at OKO Kitchen. The service and food were spot on! Keep on Yelp'n!

I think the first time I ate there was around 1986 or '87 as a kid, and honestly, it looks much the same today. Is it high-end dining? No. But that's never been the point. It's solid, reliable, family-friendly, and consistent. Where else can you get a salad, soup, a generous hibachi dinner, and a little entertainment from the chef for around $35 a person? Kids are under $20, too. In an era when a casual dinner out can easily cost twice that (or even a sandwich and coffee), it's refreshing to find a place that still delivers good value. Some restaurants spend decades chasing trends. Others figure out what works and stick with it. After more than 40 years, Sakura is still doing exactly that, and I'm glad it is.

We all had an amazing dinner and the food was perfectly cooked. 5. Atmosphere. The hibachi room is loud (like really loud) when it's busy/full. This really was the only less than ideal part. There's like 8-10 hibachi tables in one room with low ceilings so it's a lot of stimulation. My grandma couldn't hear anything throughout dinner. And idk why anyone would say the place was looking aged/worn down. It looked perfectly fine to us. 6. Service. Absolutely amazing! And our hibachi chef was so entertaining.
