Ive been there for dinner time as well, it's lively, loud in a good way, and immediately feels like somewhere you could stay for hours. I ordered the miso ramen, and it was honestly one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen I've had in Connecticut. The broth was the star of the dish its deep, rich, savory, and layered with that perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness from the miso and a bit nitty form the sesame seeds. The noodles had the perfect texture: chewy, springy, and able to hold onto the broth beautifully. Nothing was overcooked or mushy . What impressed me most was how balanced the ramen was. Some ramen spots go overboard with salt or spice, but this bowl felt refined. Rich but not greasy. Flavorful but not overpowering. You could tell there was actual technique behind it. The portion size was also generous enough to leave completely full without feeling uncomfortable afterward. The service matched the food perfectly and so freaking sweet. I have trying to rec this all my coworkers

Only drawback is everything is takeout, so it's a pretty wasteful experience with all the paper plates (the stairs leading up are probably too narrow for carrying dishes). The food was just so-so. The best dish was the soothing yuzu salmon over rice entree, while the chicken wings, crab fried rice, snd tofu pockets were all a little junky and overly dressed. Wouldn't come back but so loved that rooftop.

We also tried the Crazy Roll and Hachi Roll, and both were excellent. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and the presentation was beautiful. I was also very excited to see they had Asahi Super Dry Zero such a great option to have with sushi if you're not drinking. We thankfully came on the earlier side, because by around 7:30 the wait was literally out the door. Clearly Westport knows what's up! Definitely worth getting there early, and we'll absolutely be back.

Not a chain restaurant and not very big. As it turns out, it was a perfect combination for an UH-MAZ-ING meal! Literally, upon entering the front door, a curtain pulls to the side as we entered the restaurant. A nice little touch like you're entering a whole new world. It's a quaint little spot, maybe 20 or so tables total and some bar seating available. We had a small group of 7 and fit right along the far wall. Asked for some special favors from the hostess and she was more than accommodating. Our server, Julia was phenomenal. She gave us some time to socialize, choose our meals and looked after us as if we were her only table (while taking care of a couple other tables at the same time). Very personable and helpful along the way, not just someone who took our orders only never to be seen again. She had some great suggestions and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was spectacular! I initially ordered a few appetizers for the table. She suggested a Makimono dish which was a selection of the same items I requested and a few more! Perfect for sharing! We enjoyed a variety of entree selections from their menu including poke bowls, sushi and grilled meats and fish. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The desserts were a perfect casual finish to our meal! Can't say enough good things about our experience at OKO Kitchen. The service and food were spot on! Keep on Yelp'n!

We ordered a ton: the milk bread (excellent), steak robata (delicious), squash tempura (excellent), a chicken bao (good, but Mecha has better), then 5 pieces of sushi each (black cod was the favorite), a mochi Kit Kat (excellent), and the ooey gooey chocolate cake (meh, too rich, skip it). And a couple of nonalcoholic drinks. Took almost 2 hours but it was a nice meal. But VERY pricey - $250 for 2 people (no alcohol) before tip. It's a great spot but a wee bit pricier than I had expected.

I think the first time I ate there was around 1986 or '87 as a kid, and honestly, it looks much the same today. Is it high-end dining? No. But that's never been the point. It's solid, reliable, family-friendly, and consistent. Where else can you get a salad, soup, a generous hibachi dinner, and a little entertainment from the chef for around $35 a person? Kids are under $20, too. In an era when a casual dinner out can easily cost twice that (or even a sandwich and coffee), it's refreshing to find a place that still delivers good value. Some restaurants spend decades chasing trends. Others figure out what works and stick with it. After more than 40 years, Sakura is still doing exactly that, and I'm glad it is.

Here's my opinion/experience on everything that others complained about. 1. Parking. There's a giant lot surrounding the restaurant and we were there at 7 PM on a Saturday. No issues. Parked right by the front door (the place was packed & parking was a non-issue). 2. Wait times. I called at 4 and made a reservation for a party of 4 at a hibachi table. They were able to give us a 7:15 reservation and we were sitting by 7:19. 3. The crowded lobby. Yes, it's crowded. They do a good job of trying to get people through and to their respective tables. 4. The food. I thought the food was amazing. My seven year old even tried things she normally does not. We all had an amazing dinner and the food was perfectly cooked. 5. Atmosphere. The hibachi room is loud (like really loud) when it's busy/full. This really was the only less than ideal part. There's like 8-10 hibachi tables in one room with low ceilings so it's a lot of stimulation. My grandma couldn't hear anything throughout dinner. And idk why anyone would say the place was looking aged/worn down. It looked perfectly fine to us. 6. Service. Absolutely amazing! And our hibachi chef was so entertaining. More entertaining than any hibachi I've had anywhere else. Overall, 5 stars! We will be back. Probably soon!

We were going to go somewhere else, but they were closed and this popped up on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. Everything was so good - the tuna tartare was finely ground tuna and had an almost sweet flavor, served with a delicious chipotle sauce. Was a big portion for an app. The seaweed salad was also a pretty big portion and we ended up saving it for the next day. Gyoza was standard but good. The Mount Fuji was so good - a bunch of different types of seafood with a lot of flavor. I barely even added soy sauce because it overpowered the more gentle but present flavors of all the fish. For rolls, we got the pink lady roll, spicy girl roll, sex and the city roll, and yamafuji roll. Each one was better than the last and I'd get them all again! They were BIG and filling. Last thing we got was the sushi pizza which was SO GOOD. The "crust" was a scallion pancake and it had so much flavor. Would definitely order everything again!
