My kid liked how they used official chop sticks, and not the disposable kind. My dumplings had a nice quick to them, when it comes to that, I'm easily pleased. Unlike the last spot I went to, the table soy sauce here was good. My daughter loved her soba, she says Kashi is still her fav but this place came close. The price was decent. I was stuck in traffic yesterday on my way to a meeting, but I had time to spare so I decided to have an early dinner - find something- sushi specifically & this place place came up as the closest location. At first, I thought they were closed but when I went inside, I realized it was maybe not yet a busy time. Customer service was good. I ordered hot tea and it was served just as it's pictured, and the tea was lukewarm. I actually heard her microwaving the tea, which is rare for a restaurant like this. I am accustomed to getting my tea a teapot - that was disappointing. I did not drink it. The soup was delicious as was the sushi was delicious. There's no ambience to speak of. This place is perfectly located off the Merritt Parkway in Norwalk and holds plenty of parking for those driving there. I've been a few times over the years and have never been disappointed. They used to offer unlimited sushi pre-covid, which is definitely a perk I miss. I recently had the chance to go for dinner and tried their Spicy Girl roll and Six Flags roll (description below) and it was delicious. The service was great and the waiter was very attentive and polite. Everything is reasonably priced and it's a quiet relaxing dining experience. If you love sushi, definitely check this place out. Found Wild Rice while browsing on Yelp and decided to check it out while staying nearby in Norwalk for the work week. Visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening and I was the only person dining in; although it appeared they had a decent amount of takeout orders. I was seated immediately and a gentleman came and quickly took my order. I got 8 piece assorted sushi and a California roll. I was served miso soup and a salad and soon thereafter, my food came out. The sushi was fresh and yummy; the California roll was subpar as they don't use the mayo based imitation crab meat. I finished my meal quickly and was on my way. (They had a 10% or 15% off deal going on if you ordered online.) I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of fish! The salmon, tuna, and yellowtail in both rolls tasted fresh and I enjoyed both rolls. My boyfriend said the Mandarin beef wasn't good because it was too dry. Yet another awful experience at the Wild Rice!! I was here about an year ago and had a terrible experience with the service. The waiter was so rude when had problems with the food and was literally threatening us to accept the food and pay for it. It was stinking because they poured in too much sauce. We thought of giving them a second chance for takeout this time. We ordered about seven different rolls and a schezwan dumpling. The dumpling were stale as if cooked a couple of days ago and re-tossed in a sauce before they were served. The sushi rolls were not even fully rolled. Very disappointing. The Japanese lanterns on the side of the restaurant makes one think it is a full fledged Japanese restaurant but once you are inside you become full aware that that is not the case. I have ordered a half dozen times and they have lovely people on the phone, prompt delivery and most of all, FRESH, DELICIOUS food. I am a New Yorker and take my sushi very seriously. Wild Rice has always come through. For the first time, my boyfriend and I ordered an udon dish and it was equally delicious. The restaurant is also reasonable. For delivery, however, make sure you ask for either a salad or miso soup with your meal. I love miso soup and since I forgot to specify, I got a salad. Them Shumai that came with the chicken teriyaki Bento box was fried and tasted fishy it was OK but I prefer the steamed one, so you have to let them know. I have to say that their chicken teriyaki was phenomenal it was not dry and it was tasty however the assorted 10 pieces of shashimi I ordered we're definitely not worth 14$. the pieces were so small/thin and there were three pieces that I could not eat I put it in my mouth and almost vomited it literally smelled and tasted so disgusting, like, old. The food here is absolutely delectable! There isn't one dish not worth trying. The cooks here really know what they're doing. Best part isn't just the taste but the fact that you're also getting exquisite meat and food in general. This place uses the absolute best quality cuts of meat and they're very generous about their servings. I dare say that this place has some of the best Asian food I've ever tasted even better than some places in NYC. I can't emphasize enough how Delicious the food is here!!! The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The mood of the place is very chill, you can't help but want to kick back and cozy up in there even after you've completed your meal. All the staff here deserve a shout out because they're a wonderful bunch of hard working folks. They aim to please and go above and beyond the calls of their service to provide the best experience for its customers. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I don't write reviews on Yelp but our experience with this restaurant was SO bad that I just had to. We ordered sushi and dumplings and they both tasted fine. Then we ordered chicken pad thai and that dish was soaked in so much fish sauce that I couldn't even bear the smell of it let alone eat it. We have eaten Pad Thai hundreds of times before so we know this is not what it was supposed to smell/look like. So, we politely called out waiter and told him that the smell is a bit too strong and if there was anything he could do about it. He then started YELLING at us that that is how it is supposed to be and if we don't like it then it was our problem. We asked him multiple times to keep his voice down but he just would not stop screaming at us, he even threatened to call the police because we said he could take the dish back and we didn't want to pay for it. We asked to speak to the manager and even when we were conversing with her, he was screaming at us from the other side of the restaurant. Over all, the food we ate was fine, we were disappointed with the Pad Thai. If the problem was just the Pad Thai, I would have left a better review and might even have gone back. I'm a fan. We arrived to this adorable spot and sat down close to the window. It was very quiet and quaint. This restaurant hires a staff that is exceptionally RUDE. My significant other and I are both local food guides and have never written a bad review before until now. The hostess screamed on the phone at us after we asked where our food was in the process 2.0 hours after ordering it. after calling many times and not getting an answer on the phone, the one time answered, the hostess was shouting and screaming at us for our inquiry. Random stop off the Merritt Tpke (Hartford to NYC) to grab a late lunch, and happily stumbled upon this place. I've gotta be honest, I didnt expect much...as the exterior was pretty unassuming. But once inside I was impressed. Stop #1 was the bathroom (inspired by three bottles of Dasani). The restroom was immaculate - almost what you'd expect to see in a spa from the cleanliness, ambiance and scent. As for the meal, I WAY over-ordered. The seaweed salad appetizer was the biggest portion I'd ever seen. Could be a starter for 3-4 people. For the main course I got the Rainbow Roll, Spicy Tuna and Spicy Yellowtail. I should've ommitted one of these, because they were huge. Very tasty, and the presentation was creatively impressive (see the photo I posted).
