Not the best Korean fried chicken in Denver but pretty good. My boyfriend and I went on a Wednesday night and it was packed! Service was quick though. We ordered the spicy chicken and garlic one. The spicy chicken was delicious! The other one was too salty. We also had season french fries and they were straight out of the fryer and very crispy and delicious. I've been to other Bon Chon locations previously, including this one. Typically the chicken is light and crispy on the outside, and nice and juicy on the inside, with an adequate amount of flavoring... However, $16/lb. is quite ridiculous for wings (*EDIT* our order was take out, 24 wings 1/2 & 1/2, and weighed when we got home. $32/2 lbs = $16 per lb.) Our wings were a bit overcooked / dry as well, which is not like Bon Chon at all... Not impressed! There isn't a waiting area either at this location, which doesn't help the overcrowding situation. It seems that Bon Chon has gone the route of many other restaurants. Gain a client base, then skimp on quality / portions, or overcharge the customer... Sad, what a shame... Bonchon is a Korean fried chicken chain that offers more than just fried chicken! I tried their garlic and spicy wings that come with a side of pickled radish. The spicy wings are definitely spicy so be brave! I have tried Bonchon at 3 other locations in California before and their food is pretty consistent throughout all of the locations. The batter is sweet and sticky. My friends and I ordered wings for pickup during COVID and we enjoyed our meal. The batter is heavier and a different texture than fried chicken you'd imagine from American chains. I think the batter is made with flour and then a thick sticky glaze is poured atop to give it the classic Korean sheen. This is a great food option for drinking beer, hanging out or watching sports games. It's elevated bar or fast-food that I wouldn't mind eating for many meals. I've never dined in at this location but the interior here is much larger than the other California locations I've been to. The first time we sat at the bar the place was packed we just ordered 1/2 wings 1/2 drumsticks spicy. It came with a side we chose coleslaw. It was awesome. The second time we took our daughter and the chicken was completely overcooked. Felt like Christmas Vacation when they cut into the turkey. My daughter ordered the udon soup with Bulgogi. Food was awesome. We ate at Bonchon in the Philippines and were super excited to try one in the US. The atmosphere and service is awful. I tried ordering boneless wings, but they were "sold out". A bar takes up a quarter of the restaurant and the staff either sit at or stand behind it. I noticed a couple come in and sit for 10 minutes before anyone came to take their order. We got our food before we got our drinks and I had to physically go up to the bar for a refill. I could also barely hear my wife over the tv that was blaring profanity laced rap music. I also asked what the wifi password was after finding two wifi channels and was told "we don't have public wifi". Who doesn't have public wifi? read more

This restaurant is really a mixed bag the takoyaki was pretty good, but the shrimp shumai were clearly frozen and reheated. The Bulgogi was good but the fried rice was sweet, like they hit it with some teriyaki glaze at the end (unnecessary). The Chicken was crispy but the breading had no flavor. All the teas were bottled and they were Pure Leaf and they have you a Pilsner glass for your plastic bottle. This Probably started out as a great concept. Food was fantastic. Small space for dining if weather is bad and in Denver area you never know. Only negative is the bathrooms were very dirty. I review a place from top to bottom. Best kimchi I ever had. Pickled radishes were great. Don't get a lot of fish cakes with the dish but what you get were good. Potstickers were delish as well as the bulgoki. Location: In the Northfield Mall. Not much parking up by the restaurant but you can find parking out the putter areas of the mall with a little bit of a walk. Service: The staff was nice and attentive. Let us know about different types of dishes and let us know what she thought was good based on her taste so that we didn't automatically boohoo something just cause she does not like it. Food: They let us know not to get the boneless wings but to get the strips. More chicken in it. The flavors are good but nothing spectacular with the fried chicken strips. We also got the BIBIMBAP bowl. It was really good. The drinks are ok. Cleanliness: Nice an clean restaurant. It's new so it looks really good on the inside. Overall: Four out of five star for the type of restaurant it is. Nice staff, small location so be prepaid to wait during busy lunch and dinner times. Had a fun meal at Bonchon last night. We tried the strips, wings, and drums half and half and a salmon avocado ball. We also tried some fruit martinis, lychee and peach. Everything was really tasty. The chicken was crispy. The soy is a little bit sweet, which I'm into and the hot is hot so I think there's a little bit for everyone. They described the salmon avocado ball as a deconstructed Philadelphia roll. This is pretty on par. I thought the sauces were a little not too heavy, I couldn't eat more than two bites, but my boyfriend happily ate the rest. We were seated quickly because there were openings at the bar. By six there were at least a dozen people waiting to be seated, it's a particularly small restaurant. Feels like they're getting some of the opening kinks worked out. All in all we will be back looking forward to some more crispy chicken. read more

I would love to recommend if I could actually order from the website for delivery. I have checked my info numerous times and my entry is correct but I keep getting an error. By the way, it clears the payment info after every error so you have to re-enter the card info EVERY time. the food looks amazing but I cannot get it delivered to try for myself. Easy to fix - throw the oven on and warm things up. But I was missing items - fried rice. Service was decent. Tried the Katsu, too, but after reading other reviews and my own experience - stick with the Korean Fried Chicken. It was excellent. I had despaired of leaving my local Seattle shop and not getting it again, but Bonchon has got it down. Went with strips. And, they were perfect. Beautifully crunchy chicken as I would expect. I know its a chain, but pair it down to what you're really good at and add more complementary sides for the chicken, maybe even more sauce variety. I've been a huge fan of Bonchon chicken since about 2001 when I first had it in Ft. Lee, NJ. This location lives up to its peers in the most important aspect: the food. I got my usual order of drumsticks, half spicy half soy, and they were cooked to *perfection*. The kitchen staff have it down. My husband got bibimbap, which was quite good. We tried the spicy chicken tacos, too - they just weren't for us (too much mayo) but I can see how others would like them. The food gets five stars from me. The space, however, is cramped and sooo noisy, which makes for a less-than-pleasant experience. I was glad (and not surprised) to see them so busy so soon after opening, but I'm with Jay C.,whose 10/18/18 review mentioned the decibel level of the sound system. It made conversation between two people difficult. It was an irritant. By all means the harried (but cheerful and helpful!) staff should play what they want to listen to, but my suggestion to the management is to TURN IT DOWN by at least 50%. It adds nothing positive to the dining experience, especially in a space so cramped that people must sidle between tables to make their way to the bathroom. I've been saying that Denver needs a Bonchon chicken since I moved here 5 years ago. I've been excitedly telling people about the impending opening for months. But right now I can't imagine inviting even a small group to go, because the sound system would make conversation impossible. I hope that eventually they'll do take-out, in which case the loud music won't matter to me. In the meantime, I'm psyched that I can sate a Bonchon craving when it hits me. Knew of Bonchon because of their presence in California and was happy to hear that they were opening a location here in Colorado and close enough to home, just my luck! I've ordered their Korean Fried Chicken multiple times as a dinner and enjoy the crunchiness of the skin and the tender juicy meat underneath. The wings are a good size and are just as good for lunch the next day. Usually the microwave causes the chicken wings to lose their crunch but these do not. If you are tired of the traditional Kentucky Fried Chicken think of this place as an alternative to spice things up for dinner! read more

Service was subpar but the food was absolutely mediocre at best, I couldn't believe how a korean restaurant called "bonchon," which are traditional side dishes that korean restaurants serve with all meals, didn't have any bonchon. The rice is undercooked and they choose to use the type of rice you'd get at golden corral, where its dry, flaky and loose... hope that made sense. Almost always, korean restaurants use what is known as "sticky rice" or "extra fancy," nope not here. The chicken katsu that i tried may have been the driest piece of katsu I've ever had, fries that they use are just the standard frozen thick fries you'd get at the grocery store. read more

The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the actual restaurant. We've been there three times and the restaurant layout is the worst. They have way too many table and chairs for the size of the space. It's so packed that you constantly have people's asses and crotches rubbing against your back while you're eating. I'm writing this review more as an issue with how the offered delivery service is working rather than the quality of the meal. Our food was just fine. We like to order from here to feed large groups of people. Our problem is with the way DoorDash is used as the delivery Service. We ordered about $150 worth of food and the driver only b half of it. We tried to reconcile with the driver directly unsuccessfully but when we contacted the restaurant we were told that we'd have to take it up with DoorDash. The problem is WE are not the ones who paced an order with doordash, the restaurant does if you order through their website. So there was no way to report or get our money back. The order is not on my DoorDash account and there is no link or way to contact DoorDash through any of the texts or emails received in relation to the order. When we called the restaurant back they eventually agreed to remake the part of the order we were missing however it took some convincing and it was obvious we were an inconvenience to the staff. This is a problem. If you are going to use a third party delivery, the response needs to be different when there's an issue with that deliver. It would have been different if it was one missing item but this was over $50 of food missing from our order and then it took 3 phone calls and some serious convincing to get what we paid for. I get that DoorDash can be a problem but if youre going to use them that way you need to be responsible for problems that arise as customers have no recourse. read more
