Ok! So the 3 stars are for the service because the waitress was super friendly and attentive. Now to the most important part, the food. The wings were super greasy and the skin was overcooked. So far so good! I ordered the medium combo with my co worker and got half and half. The spicy is pretty good but the other half... Garlic I believe? I didn't taste much from it but it's okay. The wings were crispy, it was just the way I like it! I had my other co worker tried some and she liked it as well! I also ordered the cheese rice cake to share. Was excited to finally try this place. I walked in, it was dark and looked divey but the chicken is good,right? We sat down and the waiter brought over the one page menu. Mostly fried items but it's ok we came for fried chicken. The waiter drops his tray when bringing us some items, just missed my foot. Chicken comes and.....I was disappointed. The crust was too thick. Other Korean fried chicken I had before had.most less crust. We ordered half & half so we got to taste both sauces which was good but the crust just throws it all off! This is the third, and last time, I am coming to Bon Chon Chicken in Bayside. I have come at different times, and every single time, it is the same story... Awesome chicken. This is really far for us but we go to the tattoo guy right upstairs. Really good chicken. If you like spicy food, their spicy chicken is super spicy. The seasoned fries were a little weird for me because they were sweet but my husband and friend seemed to like them. The garlic chicken is always good. The calamari is really good too. Overall very good fried meal. Haha. Service was a little slow and she stood behind me a lot which made it hard for me to order and was a little awkward. Ok, This place is... good & bad. Good: Chicken wings, pretty effin tasty. Nice crunch, texture and all that jazz. If you're in the mood for some interesting/different wings - def. recommend in that regard. Bad: I think the bathroom at 7/11 is cleaner. Srs. I'm scared to see what the kitchen looks like. Delicious food! Close street parking or lot parking, so for those who are driving, there's an additional level of convenience. Now for the food- crispy, but not overly fried or greasy chicken, really hit the spot. A large is more than enough for two people if not more, since it's a total of 22 pieces. We got the mixed wing and drums, only five drums, but they were considerably bigger thaqn the others. We also got the soy garlic potstickers too-- crispy edges, flavorful and soft insides, not mushy or soggy like some other places. I also LOVED the pickled sides and shredded cabbage/sauce. Perfect vegetables to complement our main dishes. We really liked the french fries. There wasn't anything special or even saucy about them, maybe we were just hungry, but the fries were lightly salted and you can't stop eating them. read more

Had the large combo soy garlic a few times now and it can feed two people well. I like the drumsticks the most because they're huge and I love dark meat. If you get combo it comes with wings and drumsticks. The wings are small and so are some of the drumsticks. The soy garlic is addicting and I've yet to ty the spicy. The order usually comes with two side dishes either cole slaw, daikon/radish, and I think I got kimchi before. The menu offers a bunch of other sides and other dishes besides chicken. Their pancake is tasty as well. Also, if you collect 8 coupons from the large orders they'll give you the 9th for free :D I take out but there is a dining area for those who want to dine in. read more

I love their soy garlic chicken strips. Fairly priced, $11 for 10 piece order. Their dine in experience was great but when we ordered for delivery it could be a hit or a miss. Plus they don't add extra sauce when if you request it. Sometimes the lack of it makes the chicken a little dry. I wish they would fix that. The 3 stars is because the service here is bad. Not rude just bad. Its small but be prepared to constantly wave down your server. Been here a dozen times and its always the same. Its like they are not aware that they are supposed to check on you and see if you want drink refills or another beer or anything. Extra drink sales-- not in this place. Its also a dive but that doesn't bother me and adds to the charm. As for the food: BEST Bon Chon chicken around. Everything else on the menu is filler and nothing special but nothing terrible. I came here on a Saturday night. originally wanted to go to mizumi but it was way too crowded. so we stopped by at bonchon as a last minute resort thing. it wasn't too crowded and the place was small. i think there were about 6 to 7 booths. it was a small place in bayside where you will probably miss it unlike the city BonChon that i've been too. But i could tell that the place was probably busy with deliveries because i saw a lot of bags set up on the counter. i sat down down in one of the wooden booth they have. the menu was simple... either appetizers and fried chicken. we ordered the combo with 3 drums and 8 wings? and also an appetizer of fries and calamari. the fries was good with ketchup and mustard. i just wish that they have a different kind of sauce dipping for the calamari. it woudln't been nice if we have like spicy mayo sauce to go with the calamari. the soy garlic friend chicken wasn't too bad. its your typical korean fried chicken. one thing i really like was the staff. they were really nice and when we asked if we can changed the channel to the knicks game they changed it and even put on the volume for us to watch the game to our hearts content. i think that's a bonus. will give it a 3.5 stars for that read more

Staff is nice, easy to park also Chicken is very oily, go for Mad for Chicken on Northern Blvd if you can but they don't deliver, Bon Chon does! Again food isn't bad (i only get the wings) but it is MUCH oilier than Mad For Chicken and that's the reason i never liked american friend chicken to begin with. read more

Just went for the first time. My friend was raving about what he called candy chicken. The chicken is nice plump wing sections with an incredibly crunchy slightly sweet coating. They come in regular and hot. The hot were my favorite, but I'm a chili-head. They do have a nice slow building burn, but not crazy hot. They also have this delicious coleslaw like salad. I would have paid for it, but they keep refilling the bowl for you. I couldn't say anything bad about the wait staff. You have a buzzer on the table that summons them. They came when buzzed... They have a better than average beer selection with pitchers of beer. I'm a new fan. read more

I've been to the Bonchon outlets in Manhattan and totally enjoyed - really addicted. Since I had the day off and have been craving some wings I decided to try the Bayside outlet since it's closer to home. First - no wings, so I ordered the drumsticks. Second - no coleslaw. Needless to say I wasn't happy but waited the 25 minutes for my order anyway. Never again. The drumsticks are just too big to absorb all those flavors the way the wings do. Next time I'll stick to Manhattan or try one of the other Korean bbq places in the area - I noticed at least 3 within a block of Bonchon. The boxes and kegs stacked up near the front door didn't help with the atmosphere any. read more
