Came here for the first time knowing this place was stupid expensive. I figured that being so would mean that the size of the chicken would be large. It was anything but. Just normal size chicken and I got the garlic something which was ok but nothing special. My brother got the chicken strip, which were pretty good size and he got spicy. I love Bon Chon and will swear by there chicken... but ONLY at the Lewisville location. Yesterday I went to the Addison location and ordered some potstickers and 6 wings and 2 drums. Couldn't eat it all so I had left overs. So today I warmed my remaining chicken drums up and proceeded to eat them. I ate them in the dark while watching tv. Finished and went to my kitchen turned on the light and this is what I see. I damn near threw up. It was already bad enough that it barely had any Soy garlic sauce on it. My husband and I don't usually eat fried chicken because of the batter and the grease. However, we tried Bonchon- Addison, the chicken is crunchy, the half soy garlic and spice half and half are fantastic and tasty. We got the wings with bone and the drumsticks - very juicy and delicious. The seasoned fries had lots of flavor and crunch. They have very reasonable lunch specials everyday listed when you come to the restaurant to order - it is not available for view online. Besides being crunchy and tasty, it is not greasy. The staff there are very helpful, courteous and care about their customers. They come by to see how you like the good and make sure everything is alright with your order. The restaurant is very stylishly decorated and clean. There are other entrees of Korean style food that we can't wait to try. Everything is freshly made so even if there is a wait- it is worth it. Despite all the negative reviews I reluctantly gave this place a shot looking at the restaurant reach out to customers assuming that I probably would be less likely to have an issue. Boy was I wrong. Not only were the wings small which I could have gotten past if my food did not have a hair in it and was not ICE cold. I had to wait 25 minutes at 8:30 pm, on a weekday, to wait for my 6 piece chicken wing and fried rice. The food came out and was sitting by the window, waiting to be packed and handed out to me, which I was watching as I sat on the benches. But the cashier took 2 new orders and let my food sit there. I told her that is wrong, and she was welcoming to learn, which I would give second chance because she is learning. But the food, the boneless chicken wings, were pieces of chicken breast in a breaded mix, that tastes just like orange chicken. At least from a Chinese place you'd get faster food. The bulgogi fried rice, had no bulgogi flavor. It was greasy and oily, and it came with sesame seeds on top. They're definitely understaffed during lunchtime. We tried to call in order but the phone was never answered so we just decided to go in. The front cashier had to manage walk ins, online order bagging, catering orders, and running food to customers in the dining area. What a Rockstar! So because of this, it took 40 mins from walking in the door to getting our food. However we had zero complaints when it came to the food itself! Chicken is crispy and well seasoned. Very tasty. Ignore the reviews from a month ago. I think the Dallas team took the feedback and made big improvements. The wings are huge, the flavor is bold, plenty of spice, it's very crispy, and it's hot. I am a huge fan of Korean Fried Chicken and have had the good fortune of having some good stuff here in the DFW area....Bonchon is not it. I stood in line for about 10 minutes, there were only 2 people ahead of me and it took 5+ minutes for each transaction. I am not sure, but if this is a new place then I guess I can understand if they are just getting into the swing of things, but the restaurant was not that busy at the time that I went. Normally, fried chicken has a nice, crispy skin, seasoned flour, and a great batter to make sure things are crispy AND flavorful.....this had neither of the sort. the chicken tasted like someone washed the chicken....patted it dry.....and threw it into unseasoned flour, just to fry the life out of it. I had a few pieces that were undercooked on the inside, but were dry and crispy on the outside. I guess I can give it a good recommendation because they provide full size water cups....but that's about the only praise I can give it. read more

I was so excited for this place to open as it's 5 minutes away from my place! I went on the first night they opened. I called in my order and was told that it would be ready in 15-20 mins. I went in about 20 mins after I called and was told that my order was not ready yet, which was understandable as it was their first night opening. I waited and waited for about 10 minutes and still my food did not come, while other customers who came in after me were able to get their food and leave. I was then asked what my name was and when they went to go check my order in the kitchen, they told me they had given my food away to someone else. I understand that it's their first night, but they ask people for their name to pick up orders and I do not have a common name so it's a little difficult to just "give away" my order unless they were just being careless, which is not a good thing to do on grand opening night. I ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes for my food on top of the 20 I was originally supposed to wait. The boneless soy garlic chicken was mediocre at best and the Korean street corn was not what I expected. I thought I was getting the corn cheese, but instead I got corn covered in queso and jalapeño. They should definitely include a description on their menu. You're better off driving across the street to get Buffalo Wild Wings or an extra 15 mins to BBQ Chicken in Carrollton and have it taste better. On top of that, while I was waiting for my food, there was a customer not wearing her mask at all and none of the workers said anything. If this is how they operate on a first night and don't require customers to wear a mask, then coming here is definitely not worth the time. read more

I was excited to finally try Bonchon after they opened a location in my area, but unfortunately I was disappointed. I was expecting the wings to be as saucy but still crunchy like the KFC at No. 1 Chicken in Northwest Dallas or BBQ Chicken in Carrollton, but I was sadly mistaken. I ordered the half spicy and half soy garlic. When I tell you there wasn't an ounce of either sauce on my wings, I am not exaggerating. There wasn't even a reminisce of sauce on the bottom of the box. I was shocked but figured maybe after taking a bite I'd be blown away by the flavor. Not the case, it honestly felt like I was eating crunchy tasteless chicken wings. At least they got the crunch right. Maybe I went on an off day, but the lack of sauce completely defeats the purpose of eating soy garlic and "spicy" wings. I wish I took a picture before diving in, but I was starving so I didn't bother. The fries were ok and I enjoyed the coleslaw. I guess it's an okay introduction to Korean fried chicken, or if you're not a fan of chicken with sauce. read more

When this location first opened, it was great. Clean, great staff, perfectly fried high quality chicken. Something has happened in the past few months though. We've been twice and the food isn't great anymore - 50% smaller on the wings and drumsticks, not fried as well, they hardly give you any fries. A friend I bought had some tenders that were inedible because they were hardly cooked. The new staff is way less professional at the counter, obviously don't care about the job - dirty tables all over the place on both visits and hardly any customers there to be busy with. This place asks a premium price and it used to be totally worth it, but somebody needs to hit the reset button. Frustrating. read more

Disappointed. I don't think the people cooking know how to fry korean fried chicken. Also you can tell the chicken was sitting there before the 2nd fry. It's supposed to be cooked that way and take 20-25 minutes. That's what you pay for. Other wise it's just regular chicken wings with good sauces. Also the pickled radish was not pickled. Had barely any taste. Kimchi is too expensive at $3+ for a small dish and it's not even great kimchi. Also I asked for extra napkins and 2 chopsticks. Got nothing.
