Terrible, horrible company. Currently having a pest issue and the management company of my apartment complex chose these people to perform the service. Well, it's been 6 months, 3 "sprayings" and dollar store sticky traps all over the place, and unsurprisingly the pest problem is still an issue. When I reported it, the technician got combative and refused to acknowledge that their methods are not effective, saying the traps are working because they caught the bugs, which is strange because I thought their job was to get rid of them, not collect them. I'm not even sure they really did anything and I think they are intentionally doing a bad job so they get called to come back. I am requesting that management use a different company and posting this review so no one else gets scammed by them. read more

I definitely recommend Bon Pest if you think you might have a pest issue. I found a lot of termites (both dead and alive) outside my apartment and thought we might have a problem. Javier came to check it out - super friendly and he did a thorough examination. Turns out we didn't have a problem in the walls so no treatment was needed. Even though our landlord would be responsible for paying, I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me on a treatment. It would have been a hassle to leave the apartment for hours with my two cats if he needed to spray so I really appreciated that. Bad bad bad service. If I could give these guys zero stars, I would. They basically take your money, put a few traps out, and then they don't follow up. I could have done that and saved the money I wasted on Bon Pest Control. Seriously, the guy put the traps out and didn't call, didn't show up for weeks. Um, what's that "dead" smell? As part of their "service" they're supposed to find the hole where the critters are getting in, and the rep walked around on the roof and said it was all sealed up. That night? Scratching sounds from the attic. I went up on the roof the next day and found the hole myself. And I ain't no pest control expert. Sealed it up myself. No more scratching sounds from the attic. We complained, and the receptionist gave us major attitude but said Bon would personally give us a call. Still waiting for that call. It was a mess. Rats found a hole in our roof, and I was appalled when I climbed a ladder to survey the damage. At the same time, rats penetrated the crawl space under our house, leaving their little calling cards in my kitchen and, worse still, my bedroom. Yes, rats were in my bedroom while I slept. They expect the tenants and/or owners to do everything, and provide a long checklist of things to do to "prepare" the unit for their "service". And don't even honor their 30 day warranty. I have the habit of yelping when I am extremely disgruntled or extremely pleased with a business. Today, I am EXTREMELY disgruntled. I live in a condominium complex that has used Bon Pest Control for far too long. Our buildings were tented for termites in 2004 and we contracted with Bon to do quarterly spraying around the perimeter and in the underground garage. I guess at some point they actually may have been doing the work, but about two years ago when I joined the board and started handling some homeowners' association issues I began picking up the Bon invoices left on our porch. A some point it dawned on me that they couldn't possibly have access to the garage because the intercom code that showed on the invoice hadn't been used for at least a year. The property manager called them to update the access information and reiterate that the interior perimeter of the garage needed to be sprayed quarterly along with the outer building. Finally, after another year of continuous invoices, but nobody really seeing the spraying getting done, my husband started noticing a proliferation of bugs around the building and in the garage. Not swarms, but just more than usual. Then in April or May there was all out ant infestation in several units moving from the back of the building forward. There hadn't been so much as a stray ant in the building for 6 years. I called Bon and discovered, they'd just stopped coming altogether about six months prior. They sent a "technician" out. I met him and walked everywhere with him. He insisted he had come and sprayed regularly, but admitted he had NEVER sprayed the garage. He then advised me to call Bon quarterly rather than have him automatically show up. This way I could set a specific appointment and walk through again. I said that would be fine and I'd give them a call in 3 months. Fast forward to last week. I received several checks to sign from our property management and lo and behold there was one from Bon! Supposedly they came in October. I called, calmly enough on Monday, to let them know that as far as I knew no one came, they could not have had access to our garage, and someone needed to come out and meet me for a once over spray before I paid this invoice. The gentleman said he'd talk to the technician and get back to me. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, MONDAY...all tick by and no return call. So I called again and talked to a woman who said she did talk to the technician and he most certainly did come and spray in October. I told her that wasn't possible because he wouldn't have had access. She said an older, Black gentleman let the technician in the gated perimeter and walked around with him and yes, he most certainly sprayed the garage. Again, I told her he could not possibly have sprayed the garage as it has separate access and can't be entered from the outer perimeter without a code. She insists she has a code and smugly says, "Is it 421?" I, as smugly, answer, "It hasn't been 421 in over 2 years." She said an employee named Ana from the property management gave her that code (which is a total lie, because that VERY old code preceded the property management we use now). I go on to tell her, I am sure Ana did contact her at some point, but not with that code and in any case, Ana hasn't worked at the property management company for nearly 2 years. Finally she agrees to send out the technician again because I said I refused to pay until the technician came out and showed me the gentleman who let him in and verified the garage had been done. After that conversation, I called the owner who I suspected the technician was talking about. This owner verified he'd let the technician in, but that as far as he knew, only the outside was done. He also said he absolutely did not walk around to check where the spraying was done - in the garage or anywhere else. I'm keeping the do-over appointment, but only because I don't want to drag the HOA to small claims court. I figure I'll have the technician spray the garage area, pay the bill and cancel all service. I'm sick of wondering if we'll have another ant infestation because unreliable, untruthful, lazy Bon may or may not live up to their contract to spray our buildings, but they are always sure to send us the invoices. The real pests at Bon are not the insects. read more

Bon is great. We get the monthly service and as requested they come on a designated day of the week and the spiders have definitely decreased. If we get a random huge spider and web, they will usually come out the next day or so and get rid of all of it and respray the outside of the house. We recently had a rodent problem in our kitchen and they were able to remedy the problem and took care of all the entry ways and holes the mice were using to get in and a great price too! read more

The previous owners of the apartment building I manage used Bon Pest Control. So when a problem arose, I called Bon to handle it. What a mistake that was! I saw the service they provided (or rather what they said they would do versus what service they actually provided) and immediately informed them NOT TO COME BACK TO THE PROPERTY. From the receptionist to the service techs, these people are in another time-zone. No follow-up as represented, no reports as represented, no investigation of the premises to find the origin of the problem, no service as represented. You can do better with a stick than these people do with supposedly "advanced technology" (two traps and peanut butter). Avoid this company. read more

Sent me a bill showing I owed 2 prior invoices or they would turn it over to collections. I didn't remember any service or prior bills but paid anyways. Honestly, they might as well have not shown up for all the discrepancies they left behind. Absolutely horrible service and customer service. You disappear, don't show up, then for the times I didn't even know you showed up you want to bill me but leave me with more pests than I ever had... We've been using Bon for years (probably 15 if not more) on both our personal home and income properties. They come out monthly and their billing is done efficiently and in a timely manner.... one bill for our home and others for the buildings. They have always been nothing but efficient, effective and honest... trust me, our tenants would complain if they weren't doing their job! Bon recently did a termite inspection on a new purchase. Their inspector, Javier, pointed out items (water damage in two rooms, cracked exterior door, broken hinges, etc...) that the "professional home inspector" missed! Bon Pest is an excellent choice to deal with not so excellent critters. I was able to get a same day free inspection where as the local competitor also recommended could only come the following week and charged $150 so needless to say I went with Bon Pest. I had been hearing scurrying noises in the attic/crawl space above me and my landlord was pretty slow to useless in solving it, and I don't think even believed me. Jerry from Bon Pest came that same day I called and was able to verify that in fact, I had rats entering/exiting above me and as part of his inspection took photo evidence and explained what was what. That really helped with getting my landlord on board and reimbursing me for paying for extermination services, which were so reasonable. Jerry checked in very regularly and was always available and responsive when I had a question. The rats still took about 3 weeks to get rid of as they are super resourceful creatures and it took a long time to find and seal all exit/entry points but they guarantee getting rid of pests and don't stop coming till they do! Jerry helped me feel hopeful with his experience and knowledge even when I was still very freaked out. I finally have peace and quiet again (and have for 2 months) and can't thank them enough! read more

So far so good. Tomorrow will be the second flea treatment of two. To start with, they came out on extremely short notice, within 2 hours of calling for emergency flea extermination. They were very helpful on the phone and the guy that came out was a pleasure to do business with. The price was perfect, actually cheaper than a few of the other places that I had called first that couldn't even make it out for up to 2 weeks. Whether the extermination has worked entirely has yet to be seen, but there has definitely been a noticeable difference and that is enough to warrant a 5 star rating at this point. read more

He was there for me when my neighbor tented their house for extermination and sent all of their rats over to my place. He thoughtfully calmed me down and talked me through everything. He handled all the hard work and made my home safe and clean again. He has also been with me for years now and continues to keep things up to date with regular monitoring. Called Bon pest control to check out the house and the garage. I worry about termites and I saw some in the garage a few years back and I doused them myself at the time but I always have thought in the back of mind that termites are hiding in there still... A nice man came the following day right on time and thoroughly inspected the property. He said there was previous termite damage, but he saw no evidence of live termites at this time. He could easily have lied and said I needed some treatment... He was honest and said he would recommend a tenting within the next few years...(I had one 11-12 years ago when I moved in, he said usually every 15 is a good idea)...but he didn't try to talk me into anything and he even gave me tips on how to deal with this mud wasps nest we spotted on the side of my house. And he suggested I remove this useless wood on the side of my house that builders must have used to frame the walkway before I lived here. The inspection was free. Seems like a good business. (Also, they dealt with a localized termite situation at my mom's house and didn't try to sell her on anything extravagant either, and her place now seems to be termite free) read more

When we bought our new house, the previous owners used Bon Pest Control to do spot treatment for termites. We wanted to tent the whole house, but the owners fought us on it. Within a year, we had termites. Bon Pest control guarantees the termite treatment for a year, so they came back to do additional spot treatment. The technician did a sloppy job - he drilled holes all over the panels on two of our balconies, but didn't even fill all of the holes in with caulk at the end, as he was supposed to. He also did a really shoddy job of sweeping up the work area afterwards. Also, he put on a mask when he was injecting the termite treatment into the holes, but didn't think to close the doors on the balconies so that the fumes wouldn't come into the house (I had to do it myself). After making our wood panels look terrible with all the holes he drilled, the termites came back in the same areas he already treated, within a month. I am not even calling Bon Pest Control this time - I am trying another organization that has better reviews on Yelp - Dewey. We used them for flea treatment when we first moved in. They were very thorough and professional and the fleas never came back. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My boyfriend and I found bed bugs in our new apartment. We notified our apartment manager and she said she would have the Bon Pest Control group out to our apartment at 9 am. Well I happened to be off the day the spraying was going to be done so my dog and I ended up driving around town going to the park etc. I was told that at 12:30 pm it would be safe for my dog and I to enter the building. So at 1 pm I start walking up to my apartment to find that they haven't even started yet! I told the guy that my apartment manager said it was safe to come up and he told me well it should only take 30 min you can come back at 4:30 and you will be fine. Pissed off I took my dog on a long walk around Griffith Observatory and came back at 4:30. When I entered the apartment nothing smelled weird and I finally started getting comfortable. Well not even 2 minutes later there was someone ringing my door bell...I went to see who it was and it was the Pest Control Guy! He told me that he hadn't even started on the apartment! I told him that when I had last spoke to him he said it was going to be done at 4:30 and that this was all supposed to be done at 12:30! He said well I started on the unit across the hall first because it was vacant and it was easier to start there. I told him that I literally had been driving around aimlessly for 6 hours until they were finished. He then gave me attitude and said "So do you want this done or not?" Pissed off I said "Well better late then never." I ended up spending my entire day off driving around and sitting outside my apartment for 3 hours until it was safe. I am so angry with this place and I found out later in the day from my apartment manager they were 2 hours late and she asked our unit get done first. read more

He was an answered prayer to a complete nightmare rat situation at my home when the neighbors tarped and exterminated their home and sent their rat colony next door to my house! He tracked down where the rats were coming in (we had that patched), set traps and came back every other day or any time I called to collect and clean the traps, any day any time. I discovered I had termites in my bedroom porch doors when some of the glass panes needed replacement. Terminex came out for an evaluation and said that it was quite urgent, the termites could become airborne any day, I needed to fumigate the whole house, which due to the size of the house was very expensive ($3K+). I nearly didn't get a second opinion but Javier from Bon Pest Control was able to come out on very short notice. He checked around the whole house, the attic, the perimeter of the house, other doors, etc. and said that they termites were extremely localized and restricted to just the two porch doors. He recommended that I move my firewood away from the wood exterior of the house to a brick area and said that they would 'treat' the 2 porch doors (really 4 sense they are french style) for a few hundred dollars. I had a terrible, terrible experience with this company. The gentleman who came out NEVER inspected my house, had no ladder and decided the rats were coming in from an area that had NO access into the house. He set glue traps inside for huge rats that were not killed and I had to kill the stuck rats with a shovel myself. When he returned(after the week-end) and there were THREE living rats on the traps, he had to call someone to ask what to do and had no bag or anything to dispose of them into. Still no proper inspection of the house. He decided the rats were behind the dishwasher because I saw them coming out from there. BUT said I would have to get someone else to move the dishwasher. After I got another company, they came out made an inspection, moved the dishwasher and said there was obviously no room for a rat to live there, found the entryway, sealed it up and set appropiate spring traps. That was the end of the problem. Bon Pest still sent me a bill despite this and just threatened to send it to collections! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more
