Seating is shared with the food court, so peak periods might be challenging to find a seat. Service was pretty quick, and cashier was very friendly, and answered all the dumb "what do you think is the best drink" type of questions lol. Coffee was good, but on the sweeter side, so probably would go half sweet in the future - also had a sparkling drink that I didn't get a picture of , and that was very refreshing. Cake wise - matcha oreo if I remember correctly - oreo didn't really add much to the overall flavour and it was more of pure matcha - which is fine, however I found the matcha a tad bit too bitter for a cake. I was dying to try this cake place located in FMP. The cake slices and whole cakes look so pretty so I was always curious how it tasted . We ordered four indv cake slices , strawberry pistachio;Ovaltine; mango and coconut osmanthus. Look wise it was quite eye catching . The disappointment for us was the cakes somehow shrunk when we got home :o . It was $9.5 for most of the slices we got . Initially it did seem semi worth it given how large the slice was but once we got home ( few hrs later non sunny day ) , I guess condensation but they all deflated/ flatten :( and were smaller especially the strawberry pistachio. My relatives said the same for the other slices. Taste wise it was just regular chiffon cake and not worth the higher price tag tbh . Bon Cake is a new women owned and Asian owned bakery that opened up in the First Markham Place food court. The owner has experience at Duo Patisserie, which (for me) sets high expectations for quality products. They are having their grand opening this weekend (June 18/19, 2022), where they are offering 15% off all items except for whole cakes. They make delicious looking cheesecakes including Basque cheesecake, Yuzu mango cheesecake, Matcha strawberry cheesecake, and chocolate raspberry cheesecake. They also offer roll cakes such as Black sesame pecan roll cake and Coffee roll cake at the time of my visit. We purchased the yuzu mango cheesecake and black sesame pecan roll cake to bring to a family gathering. We tried the matcha strawberry cheesecake. I appreciated the noticeable matcha and strawberry flavours. It was lighter in texture than a New York cheesecake or basque cheesecake, with the texture similar to cheesecakes that have gelatin in them. I enjoyed the graham crust and the fact that the cake wasn't very sweet. I did find the price point of $9.50 per cheesecake slice somewhat steep. That being said, the yuzu mango cheesecake and black sesame roll were delicious, not too sweet, pronounced in flavours, and I'd 100% return to purchase these items. A friend sent me a tiktok showcasing this cute cake shop and I knew I had to try asap! I'm so glad I did because it was absolutely delicious. It is located in the FMP food court next to the Tasty House bubbletea shop. I got the Salted Oreo slice as well as the Ovaltine slice. They are both chiffon cakes and super soft and not too sweet! The ovaltine stood out to me since it DOES have ovaltine flavour (which brought back childhood memories ) and between the cake layer were crunchy bits which added some texture and fun to it! The price point is sort of high in my opinion ($8.50-9.50 a slice) but once you start eating the cake, it's actually quite big and filling haha :) Definitely going to try other flavours! read more

Good but not great... This corner unit has changed quite a few times if you're a frequent fmp visitor like I am lol For some reason whatever opens in this specific unit just doesn't last. Having said, we'll see how this store holds up. First, when I approached this store, I noticed there was a line up. Now line up is a good thing at a place like this, but the main reason for the line up was the fact that there was only one person working there at the time. One person to be the cashier, to take orders, to make coffee and drinks, and to pack cakes. This person is gonna be exhausted by the end of the day... I ordered the mango yuzu cheesecake for take out. I was surprised even for 1 slice they packed it quite nicely. Extra point there. However, I did find the prices quite steep at almost $10 a piece. The pieces weren't especially big and tbh... for the price they charged I kind of expected more in terms of flavour. Yes, you can taste the cheese, yes you can taste the mango definitely, and yet the yuzu was just barely there for me. If I didn't read the sign I don't think I would've known there was yuzu there, which is such a great flavor to go with mango. The texture of the cake overall was very nice, which I assume would be the same for the rest of their cakes. Not sure how I feel about returning as at the moment I can't really justify the prices for a food court cake shop... read more
