Horrible experience. I told the lady to give me a pound of different sweets so I could try other flavors and learn more about Indian sweets. Per usual, she just wanted a quick profit, so she packed it with the heaviest sweets, all the same flavor, just heavy enough to make a few dollars more. Veena the owner is very fantastic and she will give you free sweets on every visit. It's a homely and very simple food. I went to buy sweets from here on nov 08 2023, I asked if i can taste the new flavors they had in the store. The sales person and the owner made fun of me when i was tasting the sweet. These people are extremely unprofessional. I spoke english in there and the sales girl and the lady sales women thought i do not understand hindi, but understood both hindi and punjabi they spoke. They charged me $14 pound and when i called later and asked how much the sweets per pound was, the person on the phone told me it was 10 dollar a pound for gulab jamun. I had got 4 pieces of gulab jamun and a mix of chum chum as well. One guy came from inside and saw that i was overcharged but looks like the lady owner told the sale girl to charge me $14 a pound and I understood right in there that it was not fair and waited for this whole ordeal to finish with. I did not expect this behavior from the owner. It really was the worst experience, I would not recommend this shop to any decent shopper who wants to taste and buy what they like. I would never ever go in here or recommend to any of my friends. Making fun of a customer because he/she asked to taste is really unprofessional, disrespectful and disgusting. read more

Such a Wonderful experience. One of my firsts in my 8 years of being in US, I'm writing an Yelp review because I never experienced this kind of hospitality at an Indian business establishment here. The lady the owner is perhaps the most kind person I have met as a business person. She offered so many samples to try plus gave us chai and other stuff complimentary. Popped in here about 2-3 weeks ago to grab some sweets for a large gathering. I have been before and am happy to say the quality of the sweets did not disappoint. Jalebi was amazing as usual (potentially the best in the DFW area I have had so far) and the barfi I got was well received too. Will need to learn the names of some more sweets and come in to try more soon read more

I love sweets and Samosas, so we decided to try this place after reading the reviews.The place smelled of oil when we entered and was extremely dingy and not neat. We bought some Mysore Pak (sweet) and samosas anyway.The lady at the desk, was not friendly and unwelcome.She dint give us the dipping sauces, just the food to-go and disappeared to the back of the store.She came back only after we called out loud and just handed mint chutney .Now coming to the food, the Mysore Pak was very hard and tasted bad,I have had much better samosas. I regretted coming here, as opposed to other places where we normally go. I am surprised that the previous reviewers gave the place so many stars. I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I have had their Jalebi before and they were good so I ordered motichor ladoos from here for my party. I ordered 2 days in advance. When I went to pick up the ladoos they were not even made. Then I was told to come back later and they will make them and have time ready. Later on I pick them up and when I open the ladoos to serve to my guests, I see that they were not motichor ladoos. They has given me bundi ladoos and had done a bad job on them. They did not taste good, I was embarrassed serving them to my guests. Be aware when ordering anything from this place. read more

We went to buy sweets for my friend from outta town. Before the sweets we had snacks.. samosas, batata vas's and chili pakoras, all very fresh and delicious. We then tasted a few sweets with Chai, all very tasty and fresh. But the most pleasant experience was , the lady made us feel as if we had visited her at her home. I walked in and waited for the gentlemen to finish getting his order. And a Caucasian gentleman walked in after me dressed nicely. And the lady behind the counter literally ignored me and helped the Caucasian gentlemen with no acknowledgement of me. She probably thought I didn't have money? I have no idea. But you can easily see the racial profiling considering i am a darker gentlemen. It's a shame how people treat others based on appearance. I walked right out and I'll be gladly to go to another place of business. Smh sadly to say I'm actually Indian too. Time to go to Desi District for my sweets instead of this place. I was visiting Dallas for a business trip and decided to pick up sweets to take home with a couple of friends. Before buying a whole bunch of stuff, we ordered a couple of small snacks which tasted great. Now this is the point at which the great hospitality started. The lady brought along with snacks, generous samples of sweets they were making in the kitchen. we ordered chai, which was wonderful and then got some sweets to take home. When I looked the bill, it was way below my expectations and lady let us know that chai and samples were all on the house. To top it all, when I enquired about the pickles, she packed me two boxes and refused to be paid for it. In my whole adult life, I have not experienced such hospitality. Thank you!! read more

Yesterday we went to Irving for some Indian groceries, and feeling in a mood of snacking, stopped by Bombay Sweets for some chaat. This was our first visit there. We did not expect anything extra ordinary, and of course the place itself was just - ordinary. But once you walk in there, you will see nicely stacked trays of fresh sweets - very fresh and inviting. Since we were in mood of some snacking", we ordered samosa and papdi chaat. And we very delightfully surprised. Samosas were perfectly crisp, tasty and of large size - larger than any other place we visited. Papdi chat was very tasty and all the ingredients, including chatnis was absolutely fresh. We will definitely visit Bombay Sweets again. Sales girl was very nice and offered us to taste the sweets which were made fresh and still on their kitchen counter. I'm big Indian sweet fan so went try out this mithai shop, my nephew went to grab kulfi from ice cream box and step on to one big cockroach, I looked around and saw 4 more giant roches were roaming around so left without buying anything. It was gross and nasty. read more

The lady owner is good. The samosas are great. They always make fresh chapatis (of whole wheat flour) which is a big plus for me. The lady told me that they are the wholesale suppliers for the sweets and snacks and therefore stuff is made fresh every day. They take catering orders for food, so I call them and check in advance before I go for a meal. Its great because I love fresh food and this is one Indian place where I do get it. read more

My two kids BEG me to eat here even though it's a 30 minute drive! We first tried their food when it was catered at a friend's birthday party. Their food is so good. We love the samosas and the pakoras and also another food shaped like a patty that I forget the name of. I used to think that I didn't like Indian food but that's because I never tried it from here. Now I love it and crave it. The kids love their sweets too. I haven't eaten too many of those because I try to avoid sweets, but what I have tried are really good. The owners are very friendly. I had a chance to stop by this place this morning after reading the one review online and noticing their cleanliness rating from city of Irving website as a "A" rating. When I walked in I was a bit skeptical but decided to give the place a try. There were plenty of Indian sweets in the desert counter. The lady (I think she mayb have been the owner) that took my order was very friendly. I had a chai and somosa and both were fresh and delicious. Theb chutney she provided was also fresh tasting. After eating, I couldn't resist so I purchased a couple of sweets to go for my family. I got a few pieces of pendha and jalebi. As she was getting the sweets for me she asked if I'd like to sample the burfi and she offered me a huge piece. What a difference in courtesy and service! Even though I said no, she went ahead and gave me the piece in my to go. Pleased with the service I couldn't resist to share my experience online. When my family tried the sweets the comments back to me where this is the best tasting pendas and burfi outside of India - no "grainy" tastes like you get at other places. Definitely will be back to try other items and make my future purchases for sweets at this place. read more

The owner of the place is so annoying with lots of attitude,, we made besan last year from a lady who used to work at this place,, it was amazing,, really tasty,, 5 stars for that lady,, after that we ordered laddos,, they were good too.. And now we ordered besan about 15lbs again couple of days ago as we had langer at our religious place,,besan was so bad,, i cant explain,, it was full of some bad kind of oil and sticking to plates and hands,, no one liked it at all. When we called the owner,, he said ok bring it back and he will return it.. When we went there and complained him about that, he showed us attitude,, didn't apologize. He said it was sugar's fault. We used very thin kind of sugar. He was so arrogant,, place was dirty too with water on the floor.. Definitely not going to that place again and wont even recommend to anyone.. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.. I would give it no star if its possible.. Never had such a bad experience to any place before. read more
