My friend took me to Bombay Chaat House. I liked the aloo paratha and chole -- they tasted really good. But the spinach paratha was not that great. Still, everything else was nice. Since my friend really likes this place, I want to try it again and see how it goes next time.

"This restaurant serves absolutely incredible food--every dish is full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. A must-visit for anyone who loves amazing cuisine!"

Being here in this shopping strip so many times and never noticed this little hole in the wall place. The food is good and service is fast. Chaats are one of the best i have ever eaten in bay area. Methi poori is great.

    Paneer Combo (Navratri special)

I've never been here before, I needed a close by restaurant that serves Navratri food, they a meal called Navratri Combi which is a great combination. You chose either aloo curry (potatoes) or paneer curry (cheese), dahi (yogurt) and Kheer(typically made with rice, but for Navratri it's more with Sabu Dana. I tried both curries, if you're fasting eating only fruit and dried nuts, aloo curry might be more appropriate as the paneer curry is pretty heavy. I feel tanked after finishing my meal whereas the other combo made me feel satisfied. Both combo are served with two pieces of either Kuttu (buckwheat) roti or Rajgira (amaranth) roti. If you like to keep your meals super simple without use of salt, sugar or pepper this place might not be a good option, but the fact that it is an option on the menu is great for the times that cooking at home isn't possible. There's plenty of parking available, you can take the food either to go it for sit down. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. The ambiance is casual and good for groups.

Still drooling over this Aloo paratha image, and missing the taste of it. I am definitely visiting this place again. However, the ambiance is something where they need to work upon. They were quick with their service and served free condiments.

I've relied on their 'combo 2' all throughout the covid times. It's good for a quick lunch. Their parantha is huge- of any kind plain or filled.

Well you get the point : )

Had been to this place recently as it was picked by someone in our group based on his past visit. I was a bit wary based on Yelp reviews. I agree with some of the reviews. Chaat items were below par. It was lacking the key elements/ingredients that make a good chaat preparation. Sev puri was so basic and such a disappointment. The chutneys that came with the sev puri were also mediocre. I think they missed the point on this completely : ( I think the items other than the chaat category are better. Parathas were pretty good. I will good 4 stars. Not having garlic naan in the menu was a disappointment. I exist only because of Garlic naan : ) Plain roti was OK. We ordered 'baingan bhartha' (Mashed and spice Eggplant curry). It tasted good, but didn't have much of 'baingan'(a.k.a egg plant). It is not the usual style one is used to. One of the members in my group was raving about their chai. I didn't taste it though. Service was decent. The place is clean enough , given what one could expect.

We decided to come back to Banana Leaf and check it out. We arrived to Banana Leaf on a Friday night for dinner. The Malaysian/Thai restaurant is located at the McCarthy Ranch in Milpitas. Plenty of parking is accessible in the large parking lot out front. The Malaysian modern decor still looked similar to when I was last there. It was a bustling and lively Friday night atmosphere. Plenty of tables were packed and the bar was half surrounded with patrons in their bar stools. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes for our table. We ordered Roti Prata, Mango Chicken, Seafood Pad Thai, steam rice, a glass of Chardonnay, and a deep fried banana à la mode. Everything was delicious and authentic. Two of my old favorite dishes there, the Roti Prata and the Pad Thai were just as tasty like I last remembered. The sweet curry sauce and the fluffy Roti Prata went perfect together. Every bite is scrumptious. The Pad Thai were flavorful. Prawns and calamari in the Pad Thai were tender and plentiful. The Mango Chicken was rich and sweet. Finally the deep fried banana was delectable and went very well with the vanilla ice cream. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Banana Leaf. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The vibe was family friendly and welcoming. I am not sure when I will be back but it was nice to return for some nostalgia.

I've never experienced such unprofessional management at a restaurant in my life. The manager set…read morethe tone for the entire evening, and unfortunately that tone was rude, dismissive, and unbelievably hostile. From the moment we had a small issue with our order, instead of trying to help, the manager acted annoyed that we even brought it up. What should have been a simple correction turned into an argument. The manager interrupted constantly, rolled their eyes while we were speaking, and spoke to both customers and staff with a level of disrespect that was honestly uncomfortable to witness. You could tell the employees were tense and afraid to say anything, which probably explains why the service was so disorganized. The worst part was how unapologetic they were. Rather than taking responsibility for mistakes, the manager blamed the kitchen, blamed the servers, and somehow even blamed us. At one point they walked away mid-conversation while we were still talking, which perfectly summed up the entire experience. No matter how good a restaurant's food might be, terrible management ruins everything -- and in this case, the manager made the place feel chaotic, stressful, and completely unwelcome. I won't be returning, and I'd strongly suggest anyone considering this restaurant spend their money somewhere that actually values customers and treats people with basic respect.

Easy to find. The restaurant itself is pretty small but was able to fit our family of seven. We were treated right when we came in . The lady server was good on attention to detail what we needed and friendly. We tried a few of their dishes but my family was so hungry, I couldn't take a picture fast enough of everything. Haha Tried their whole batch of soy garlic chicken wings. It was cooked well but the outside coating tasted a little overcooked and not as much flavor in the chicken or seasoning. The glaze was not enough. That was a little disappointing for me. Also had their mushroom tofu soup which was added from a combo meal with grilled pork or called Dwae Ji Bulgogi. This was good. Ordered their Galbi short ribs was my favorite. Their seafood pancake was big and crispy. We also had their grilled spicy pork Bulgogi. This was ok, not too spicy but it was more like shredded pork and not a big portion. Actually, for the portion for the meat was pretty expensive to me. Everything now is getting more expensive and smaller portions. We didn't drink alcohol so I can image how much this would be. Our party only ordered 1 soda. We ordered enough and everything was finished or my husband didn't want to leave any food. This was located in Milpitas so if in the area, I would like to try it again. [13R,2026]

The waiter was pretty patience with us as we brought an elderly guest with us at the table so we took a little longer to enjoy our meal. The interior design of the restaurant is pretty interesting where the booth is align an triangular shape with a center piece so the tables can be put together for larger parties very easily. Definitely easier to get a table for parties of 4 or less but it will work out for larger parties as well.

Clear broth, comes with an assortment of vegan proteins, and it's been consistent every single time over the years. Best had in cold weather. The spicy noodle soup is solid too but it doesn't hit the same way. The SP4 gourmet deluxe is my other staple and I order it like an appetizer. The protein comes out fried with a crispy shell and soft inside. The sauce leans hard on lemongrass and citrus but it's savory throughout, not sweet. Haven't had anything like it anywhere else. Orange nuggets are chewy with a citrusy and sweet glaze. Good enough that I skip the actual appetizers for these. The Szechuan Pineapple is spicy, salty, and savory with chewy gluten and a citrus undertone running through it. Green papaya salad is strictly sour and tangy. Fresh, nothing heavy about it. Sweet potato curry is definitely underrated. Potato goes soft all the way through and the whole thing tastes hearty without being heavy. Basil eggplant tofu skews sweet and the eggplant goes silky and it's a family favorite. Eggplant claypot has the same idea but the sauce is better and it comes out in the claypot which makes it feel like a proper dish. Jalapeno BBQ seitan was a miss. The BBQ sauce tastes flat.
